It's only in Kenya where houses are demolished by the Government without alternative settlement. Very Sad indeed.

I was at work, but to try to answer why they started with the slums. I take it as they will start there first because they can push out those who have no power to stop them or negotiate terms of relocation.

Thank you for taking time to watch. Rich people can take court order to stop demolition as opposed to poor

Do they need police enforcement to get the people out of the surrounding areas of an ongoing demolition of buildings which has the possibility of collapsing and killing more people on it's path? This is so sad.

As a Kenyan living in the west now and seeing how things work, THESE SLUMS SHOULD NOT BE THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. Plus they are built in riparian land which in itself is a disaster waiting to happen. Even in the west they don't allow people building in such areas and if they do it is at their own peril. There are advisories that exist every time you want to build a house. During the Kibaki era I remember the Govt took back even land that was gotten illegally by the rich so hold your horses, what is coming many will not like it.

Your right the only problem is that government allowed people to stay there for decades 🤔

In 2011, The United Nations provided Kes 3000,000,000 that is Kes 3 biliion to India to clean River Ganges. The Holy River had become murky with human excrement. In a lifetime, every Indian citizen must cleanse selve in that river. The 30 Meters Riparian rule is based on earth and water ways and movement. Please notice that The moon controls clouds and water while the Sun controls the solids on the earth.

These slums are illegal and should have never been there. Unsanitary, unsafe, and now pose the risk of being washed away in a single week. Imagine if they were allowed to stay and the next storm took them all out in their sleep. It would be an international tragedy/embarrassment.
