I did CSL + exov4 over 2 years ago on my f150. I'm just about to do CSU +v5 on it now as it got body work done from insurance that jacked it all up. This stuff is NO joke. I go through touchless carwashes and hand wash weekly, still beads water like crazy in most spots.

Good to of seen a real world test documented . These coatings aren't for me I enjoy the whole applying a wax etc process but on other family members cars then yes a coating would make my life so much easier in keeping them looking good longer

Just coated my new bike with CSL and Exo. Had it on my last commuter bike too and put up 50k before selling it and had not noticed any loss of performance in that time. Love all GTechniq products, super easy to apply and great performance. Have to say I prefer the older packaging though!

How does installation of cs ultra differ to csl? How long do you let cs ultra sit for before wiping off?

what do you do with bird muck. I will remove asap using a QD and mf towel but it always leaves damage. Would you suggest leaving to the weekend clean without risk of etching ?

Hey mate, I'm an avid car enthusiast but gtechniq make it very clear in their promotion for this that they need to ensure proper training to apply this. Surely there would be no harm if I was to get this and do it myself - pre wash, contact wash, detar, iron remover, clay bar, dry, correction and then the coating. What are your opinions? I'm unsure what they're so scared about? Thanks, Mark

I believe it's due to the warranty you get with CSU.... I'm not sure any retailers would even stick it/sell it to you.... You can however buy the Light version

We just got my wife's XC90 corrected and coated with CSU and not only is it for the warranty but also it requires at least 2 people who know what they are doing to apply it properly as well as 24 hours curing time surrounded by UV lights. For the DIY'er , CS lite is the better option and with proper maintenance care and the supplemental ceramic sprays like Gyeon wet coat (my favorite) or Gtechniq's Easy Coat and an annual or bi-annual application of EXO, there's no reason why you can't prolong the life of the CSL for well beyond 5 or 7 years.

I hope you haven't attempted to apply CSU on your own car.. I had my car professionally coated last year with CSU and it requires at least 2 people (better with 3) who know what they're doing, they do it fast because the CSU liquid has to remain cold and it has to be buffed relatively quickly after application.. My car looks immaculate though even after 12 months so it was well worth it.. But if you f'ed up the application, you'll have to sand it out quite aggressively as CSU is very durable as with most professional grade ceramic coatings..

So I had CSU applied after two stage pint correction and I still see light swirls in my paint under bright direct sunlight but in the shade it’s perfect. Detailer said he could redo the hood while I wait but some people are saying it needs to cure under UV? This make me think he is full of shit.

Yes.... Though I have crystal serum ultra.... Exo is the absolute last product

Hi Mat, how many miles you done though. I know you said it was low miles The reason I ask is I do 100-150miles per day do currently testing a few. Not tried the Gtec range yet. Cheers

I have CSU and Exo on my daily, since the application last year I have driven 7000 miles (5months) and it is as strong as day 1. Unbeatable performance

I think it was about 6,000 from the start to the end of the series. A lot of that in the last few months as the Mrs was on maternity leave at the start of the series.
