Every year, I spend a week with my buddy Matt in Wales sampling some familiar and some new trails/bike parks to push our skills and comfort zones to the max! The last couple of years have been slightly challenging to say the least but we started off to a great start in the Gwydir forest.
The Gwydir Mawr, is a physical and mental challenge and you'll need all your skills on tap/ready to go! It's definitely one of the most rewarding trails and absolutely one of my all time favourites.
It offers a free car park (no toilets or amenities so pack well!) spectacular scenery, big climbs, technical climbs/descents and some super fast/epic downhills that will have you whooping and hollering at the top of your voice!
This was my first ride out with my new Garmin Edge 530 GPS device. I wanted a reliable unit for accurate navigation and trail recording and it did not disappoint. It features so many things but essentially it recorded my ride, gave me unbelievably accurate turn-by-turn trail navigation and even told me when I was getting air from the jumping!
