To just add an insight here. What I generally believe is that your opinion on the crowds, is just a self-reflection of your self-talk. Hence when somebody just projects their hate on somebody, it just tells me so much about themselves and their self-talk. As a wise man once said, "The way Sarah speaks about David reveals more about Sarah's character than it does about David's.". Sadly enough, internet is (for a lot of people) just a great place to run their mouths off, which just tells you enough about the overall social and emotional maturity of people.

It's wrong to hate on people in general gay or not. I am a Christian and we can't support their lifestyle because it goes against the will of the biblical God. Hate the sin, not the person. Technically, people that proclaim to hate gay people are sinning because it is a sin to hate on other people who are all children of God. Love your videos.

Exactly. I always find the hypocrisy of those high-and-mighty christians so strange. Especially when people go as far as to say that person is possessed by the devil or something so extreme. If anything it's the current culture of the world that makes them feel that's right and the people who are being controlled by the devil are those hateful christians. Not to say I believe that either, but it makes a whole lot more sense than the former argument

This is why I'm not religious, not because i think the bible is bad, on the contrary i think it teaches great values and virtues, but i don't align with people who use it as an excuse to hate. It's ironic that hateful people use religion when it is explicitly against it. Wanted to give my perspective on this as a christian. I agree with most of what's said in this video in regards to how we should treat people and such. The so-called christians that rattle on about how horrible X group of people is are absolutely a problem. And there's also people on the other side of the coin who hate most christians based on this ideology. But the unfortunate reality is most christians, especially these ones, are not representing what the bible truly talks about. A lot of people are consumed in this idea there's sides and you have to pick one, when in reality there should be a middle ground between both, sort of like you said. One thing I do want to point out, though, is how you said "pride is sinful" was hateful. I think that's a misunderstanding of it. I don't know the post itself so maybe I'm wrong, but based on what you said it just seemed like a slightly arrogant way of stating his belief. I think it's ok to state disagreements and make a case for why you believe what you believe; regardless of how crazy it sounds; and not have your opinion automatically discounted. That's one big issue with the state of the world, and probably the biggest thing preventing a better middle ground conclusion. Another thing I wanted to point out was you saying that we've grown since the bible was written, and that some things may not still hold true. Again, maybe I'm wrong, but I'm guessing that comes from a perspective of not knowing much about how the bible works. The bible's a book written by God through the hands of various people throughout history. Everything in the bible is meant to be absolute truths, and something a christian is meant to build their beliefs around. One big issue among christians though is some only take parts of it, are misinformed, or act like that's the only thing you can go off. When in reality, you're meant to use it as a base and build off it, as well as applying the information to how you do things. And due to that, something like, as you said, people being gay, would still be considered a sin, regardless of how the world's changed. That being said, christians should be able to respectfully disagree. If you can't convince someone of what you believe in a reasonable manner and it isn't hurting anyone then someone should be respectful of that person's decisions. I do believe defending your beliefs are important, but many people take it too far.

As someone who is both Christian and gay, I find it confusing how so many people who call themselves Christian can be so hateful when the point of Christianity is to love everyone for who they are. The idea that being gay is a sin is also a misunderstanding, as that part of the Bible is in the Old Testament laws, which do not apply to Christians today. What people seem to fail to understand is that the Bible was written especially for the people of when it was written 2000 years ago. This is also the reason for why the Bible has so much sexism and racism. The part of the Bible that says men cannot be gay also says that slavery is okay and that slave owners are allowed to beat their slaves. Again, most people who are homophobic haven’t actually read and don’t understand the Bible, but if you are against people being gay because you agree with what the Bible says, you quite literally also support slavery. Also good point - people are born gay, it’s not a sin or something someone commits, rather it’s just who you are, who god chose you to be.
@dragonslayerbh1199
@dragonslayerbh1199 3 ай бұрын
Homosexuallity is explicitly mentioned AND rebuked in the New Testament multiple times (refer to the books of Romans and Corinthians). Even if it wasn't, homosexuality is a moral issue, and the ONLY Old Testament law that doesn't apply is ceremonial law. ALL MORAL LAW IN THE OLD TESTAMENT STILL APPLIES TO CHRISTIANS TODAY. The rest of what you said is directly denying all of the bibles authority. Second, God freed slaves from egypt. The Bible was the reason that slaves were freed in the first place. The bible is not sexist, and Christianity was actually mainly a woman's religion at it's inception, because it was actually something that gave them rights. In a society where women were treated as property, the bible says that men and women are equal and both made in God's image. The end of your second paragraph is all a propositional fallacy called affirming the consiquent. (If A is true, that means B is true, but there is no evidence for them being connected) Lastly, and MOST IMPORTANTLY THE MAIN POINT OF CHRISTIANITY IS NOT TO LOVE EVERYONE FOR WHO THEY ARE THE MAIN POINT IS THAT WE ARE SAVED BY JESUS DYING FOR US AND RAISING FROM THE DEAD. Sure, loving people as they are IS good and is commanded by Jesus. In fact, he says "come as you are". That doesn't mean you stay as you are. ALL the points you gave are blatantly wrong or strawman arguments. I plead that you repent and truly look in God's word. You call yourself a Christian, so I hope you will read the bible and change your way of thinking. God doesn't make mistakes in his word.
@cubicllamagaming8820
@cubicllamagaming8820 3 ай бұрын
1. God does not make mistakes, and god chooses to make people gay. 2. Unlike the a book such as the Quran, the Bible is not said to be the direct word of god. It was written by people who lived 2000 years ago, when society was much less advanced. Not all of the Bible is to be taken literally (for example genesis which has been scientifically proven impossible), and the writers make errors. For example, in exodus when they write god as intentionally making the pharaoh not listen to Moses so that they could kill the first horns of the Egyptians. This depicts god as wanting to kill people and literally taking control of them, which no good god would do. 3. Being gay is factually not a sin, as a sin harms someone or something, always, meanwhile there is no harm that comes from finding true love, only good. 4. God would want people to be in a relationship with who he made them to be in a relationship with. 5. Speaking as a history buff, It’s quite possible that people went through and changed the Bible to convenience themselves later on. 6. Again the Old Testament laws are no longer completely followed, such as the ones about slavery, which you failed to counteract my point about. 7. Religion aside, it’s fundamentally wrong to try to change who someone is when they were born that way. Wanting people to not be gay is absolutely NO DIFFERENT from wanting someone to not be African, or wanting someone to not be a woman. 8. There is some sexism in the Bible, as all of the laws say “he” and never include women, again another example of the writers making mistakes. 9. For most other laws in the Bible, there are non-religious reasons for why they are bad (such as murder or stealing), but with being gay, there is quite literally nothing wrong with that. Btw my father is a theology professor who teaches the Bible, my parents are Catholics who agree with me on all of this, and I go to a catholic school that welcomes gay people openly. 10. As with the new covenant, Jesus accepted and loved everyone for who they were, and they would want us to do the same. 11. Another reason for the homophobic laws in the Bible was to prevent underpopulation and continue to expand humanity with people having children, but of course that is no longer relevant today as we are now facing a problem with overpopulation instead.

Growing up I never understood why people hate so much, especially gay people and all people of the LGBTQIA+ community. I still have this same mindset where I don't get it, however, turns out, I was gay the whole time lmao. I currently live in one of the most homophobic state in the U.S., Alabama, and I still just try to fake my personality. I'm more out than I used to be, but I'm still hesitant to be out and proud the way others can. Of course I don't agree with the whole kinks on people's arms, that's just straight up disgusting in public, but that's where I draw the line and that's it. And the whole using a book that is billions of decades old is just weird and disgusting. It wasn't even made by God himself, why are we taking lessons from it still? Overall, I just don't get it. I don't get hate in general and I don't think I ever will. We have enough shit to deal with, why would you stress yourself out hating on people you don't even stay around?

I have to fake my personality a lot around all of them because I'm scared of the consequences of coming out. Would my friends abandon me? Would my parents kick me out? I really hope one day people will let go of their hate and just look at homosexuality as it is - just a part of who a person is and that it's fine.

I myself believe that the problem lies within people who believe that a scripture or old societal custom allows them to manipulate, control, or decide another person's life decisions purely for the sake of said people's "normalcy". People focus far too much on others, on how they themselves are viewed, or how others live their own lives. People just need to make decisions for themselves and continue to live the life they were given to the best of their ability. I personally have been trying to be that random stranger in people's days that spurts out random, and lightly humorous, comments to lighten the mood. Even if it's just a passing greeting or a light joke about a current situation, no harm could be done by simply making somebody else smile. I don't care whether I know the person or not, I find joy when an outsider does the same for me. Bringing light and joy to my fellow people who live in a world completely enveloped in past drama and controversy. Sharing a lighthearted experience with somebody that lives in the same town as I do, somebody who I may see again. I see no harm in putting my efforts into sharing these happy or genuine moments with these strangers, especially when compared to the equivalent damage I could cause by instead giving into the impatient and arrogant urges that reside within us all. Anybody and everybody can and will lose their patience at many points in their life, we're all human; but that cannot allow us to become overrun by that hatred and selfishness. We must be compassionate and patient with everyone, I believe wholeheartedly that there is absolutely no real reason to do otherwise.

I had assumptions made about me, I was told that I “hate god” even though I am a Christian, and was even told that my parents (who are catholic) are heretics for supporting me. What sucks is that I’m met with hate basically everywhere, even by people who are supposed to be my brothers and sisters in faith. The reality is that I didn’t choose to be gay. I had people try to tell me otherwise, even though they were straight and had no experience with what they were talking about. I appreciate you making a video about this topic, because I believe more people have to talk about these kind of things. Overall I feel like this video is well rounded, but I offer a couple good faith critiques (in order of when they appear in the video): 1 - 1:29 - Your average person who holds these harmful and hateful beliefs may justify their opinions based on a 2,000 year old book, but the politicians do this for power and control. Hate is absolutely on the rise, but there are people who are manipulating others into acting out the hate in exchange for control. 2 - 3:43 - "...and so just like being gay, or you know maybe having like a mental disability, why would you make fun of someone for that?". Personally, I know what you mean by this. But for future reference this could be taken in a bad way (comparing LGBTQ w/ things that people associate negative connotations to). There's already enough hate being flung at the LGBTQ community that attempts to equate the way that people are to mental disorders ya know? As well intentioned as you may be, we know the internet will take something and run. 3 - 5:14 - Kink at pride discourse can get off the rails really fast due to it's complexity and depth, but typically these events are blown out of proportion by bad actors. Nobody, at least in good faith, would defend indecent exposure. Likewise, the people who are generating outrage at these events online are not good faith actors (more often than not). Their goal is often to turn public perception of all pride events negative by any means possible. 4 - 9:00 - "People are worthy of life. There are parts of the world where this is objected to" + "You would like to think that not calling for (insert bad thing here) is a universally agreed upon thing". History is not on a linear path. At least morality wise. There are always actors who will try to abuse the reigns of power. Progress isn't a one time achievement. It's a constant battle. We all must remain aware of this fact. In summary: "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice." - Martin Luther King. It may bend towards justice, but it does not do so on it's own. WE must bend it, we must shape it, and then defend it.

As a Christian myself I do not hate gays and other people like that but I can’t support the way they act and their choice to do that because it’s against Gods word. The only thing to help people is share the good news of Jesus Christ and hope they come to him.

I'm genuinely curious here. Given that gay people can't change their sexuality, why is it important that you make known that you don't support their choice? It's not like you not supporting their choice will change their sexuality. Are you worried that if you don't mention the fact that you don't support them you'll be sent to hell?

@@officeglue129 I understand that Christians proselytize. But sexuality is hardwired. A gay person can't make you like men in the same way that you can't make a gay person like women. I don't think there's any way you can say it that would accomplish what you're referencing. To me, it really seems like the Christian need to express their disapproval of another's lifestyle is projection... it's a way to affirm their own faith, not a way to convert someone else.

A Christian perspective here: I think the biggest issue is that people commonly conflate disagreement with hate. Us Christians disagree with the lifestyle that LGBT people live, and since they feel that is their identity it makes them feel hated by us. As christians i think we need to empathize with this, since there are so many people who disagree with how christians live their lives too, but we cannot conflate that disagreement with hatred. The Bible does say that homosexual acts are a sin, and im not willing to back down from my faith- But it also says that hating others is a sin, and that being in debt is a sin, being gluttonous is a sin, being selfish or insulting others is a sin. Many things that are very common in first world cultures nowadays. The truth is that we've all fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) and that means that every one of us, including us christians, have sinned and will sin in the future. Thats exactly what the good news of Jesus is, that He paid the price for our sin and that we now get to make the choice whether we want to be with God or not. This does not affirm sin, but offers us a way out of it, and it truly is a choice. A biblical christian believes our job is to show people the love of God and pray for them and teach them in hopes that they will choose to be set free from sin, and to show Gods love within all of that. Its not our choice if someone does or doesnt come to the Lord though, thats why we just have to lead with love. Also, i really like the atmospheres your videos have, the cinematography and sound design is always brilliant!

You dont speak for all Christians. Religious hypocrisy is astounding. I dont agree with religion in general and consider myself anti religious. However I see that the belief brings happiness and joy to some ,so for the most part I keep my opinions to myself. The fact that religious people for the most part would impart their worldview and opinions on others without a second thought is beyond arrogant to me. I experience a level of cognitive dissonance that is so extreme when I listen to the average individual preaching their faith that I have to remind myself to be tolerant, humble and that I do not have all the answers to life's questions.

I completely agree with you here. Well, In my opinion, Religion is mostly a bad thing. Like, you just have to believe, and you cannot question it at all. The bible says to just do Exactly what it says, and to not question it. So what happens is, people gets completely blinded and just follow everything the bible says, for example the bible said people who are gay are bad. they say to the people who are gay bad, and treat them badly, Without knowing Why. They are used to doing these actions, just doing what religion says and there is no proof on why they are doing this. It's hard to change the mind of a really religious person. They are not used to like, stopping what they are believing in and to ask themselves, what am I doing? Is this worth it? Why do I have to do all of this? They're not used to that, because they are completely commanded to not question anything. This really kills curiosity. I have an example. Let's say I am homeless. A religious person came to me and gave me 20 dollars. He was being kind. But, was he kind just to go to heaven, or he actually cares about me? You cannot be sure at all of their answer. But if a Non religious person gave me the 20 dollars, they definitely care about you, with their whole heart. Because non religious people don't believe in heaven and hell. I brought this example because, people who are religious Wants to go to heaven right? they don't really care much for others. I am not saying All religious people, but most, or some religious people mostly care to go to heaven. When god says that, if you do this action, you will go to heaven, and you would satisfy me. So people do Exactly what he says. God said gay people are bad. If you agree with me, you satisfy me, so you have extra points to go to heaven. (kind of like that, I'm not sure xd, I am no longer religious). When they know that If they say to gay people are bad they satisfy god, which means they will go to heaven, they will Definitely do what god says. Because he said they will go to heaven. And so, that's why it's hard to change the mind of a religious person. But again, like you said in you're video, it does not mean religious is a SUPER bad thing, no. It has good things in it. Just like you said, being kind to people and stuff. But the idea of heaven and hell really ruined the curiosity of people, and completely blinded them. I just wanted to share my thoughts here. I hope you maybe got a better perspective about religion I guess.

The bible never says anyway DO THIS AND DONT QUESTION IT. You have completely made that up. Another point you made is that it says ‘gay people are bad, and treat them badly, without knowing why’ a statement doesn’t get more uneducated and silly than that, it teaches the absolute opposite. Homosexuality is sinful, because man are made for women and women for man. It teaches to love everyone because they are a child of god, whether they are gay or straight. Another point you made is about ‘if a religious person gives a homeless man $20 he doesn’t actually love them, it’s so he can go to heaven and satisfy god’ Brother that is a ridiculous statement and I know it’s because you don’t know any better. In the Bible it teaches we are sinners and that we are completely unable to get to heaven based off of our good deeds, because we all do bad. That’s the whole point of why Jesus came to atone for our sins, as a sacrifice to make us righteous in the eyes of the father. That’s the absolute fundamentals of Christianity, the absolute antithesis of what your point is. Another point you make is that if you ‘ say gay people are bad you win points in the eyes of god’. Ummm no. God teaches to love your neighbour as yourself and do not judge others or you will be judged because we all sin and do bad things, therefore who are we to judge? Think of Jesus when he said ‘he who is without sin, cast the first stone’. I hope I have opened your eyes with my reply, God bless you.

Being an Orthodox Christian, this is a subject that is very complicated. The Bible tells us to "Love thy neighbour" no matter who or what they are. Here is the thing. There is a but. I will love and respect everyone, but i will just not want to live their life style. If you, as a Christian think being aggressive and hating is a good idea, that is absolutely not what Jesus would do. Instead, He would pray for them. Not forcing His ideas on them, not hate them but just pray. Once again. There is a but. This but is that if you are part of the lgbtq+ then it isnt rlly respectful to go to Church and claim yourself as a "Christian". Same for a Muslim to eat pork infront of all his other Muslim friends and family. I obviously cannot explain that well as i am not a priest, but please just keep in mind that both sides here are just trying to do what they believe is best. God bless you Flowstate!🙏

The difference is, it's not exactly like an on and off switch, as a Christian if you believe being gay is a sin and is influenced by Satan (Correct me If I'm wrong) then your ignoring the very real truth that someone who IS lgbtq+ and not faking it can't just stop being gay? according to the bible they should have to sacrifice there entire lifestyle comfortability in who they date and are judged for who they love because our all knowing omnipresent god dislikes it? and if you don't repent for those sins through jesus they won't get into heaven? would they ever get into heaven if there hearts are judged and found to be impure because they truly love thy neighbour of the same sex more than just a neighbour, shit's complicated to me. I'm basically just saying is logic ever present when someone dedicates there life to a religion?

@@OfficialSpring Once again if u rlly want to get deeper into it id reccommend asking a bishop or a priest, i also know a youtuber called Cliffe Knechtle, he answerd some very complicated questions very well, he is studied in religion so id would reccommend watching his videos too. But yes i understand that its not like an "on and off" switch. I do not believe satan is the causer of it all, but he definitly takes advantage of it. I for example knew someone who felt like he wasnt enough for God because he was gay. Its very difficult for me in that situation because i do not wanna lie to him, neither do i want him to feel bad. Satan is making them anxious for something they cannot change. Now, you asked smth about getting into heaven, the Bible tells us "Let Jesus Christ into thy hearts, believe in Him and you shall be saved." So im not saying only gay people go to hell, but everyone why chose to be seperate from God. But God is also fair, so i am not sure what would happen to a gay person. I hope this answers all your question but just know, i am absolutely not studied in religion so for a more true and valid answer ask someone who is, like a priest. So please take this with a grain of salt, my knowledge is pretty limited :^)

For context: I'm just a mere dimwit, can't understand the bible, like AT ALL. 'Cause I've tried reading it but all I understood was if someone is greedy, he punishes them(that's good). Someone sins, he punishes them(good). Someone didn't obey his instructions, he punishes them(okay?). Someone does something he dislikes, he punishes them(um. O...kay?). Someone just wants to be themselves, he punishes them(wait, what?). Someone fell in love, he punishes them(...). Someone just want a peaceful life, so they declined his offer, he punishes them(wanting peace is bad? Alright, I'mma draw the line) So I really couldn't get the fact why people still say God is a loving father. Is punishment his love language? Can you please tell me where to look about how he loves us UNCONDITIONALLY? Because reading further, I felt like he only loves those who follows blindly. Disregard our intention wether it's good or not, just follow him. That's... A bit too CONDITIONAL. I still do wanna believe in a higher power but reading the bible just has a lot of red flags(from what I've read so far. I just couldn't get further without noticing some contradictions) That's why I'm still looking for that one passage showing unconditional/true love(that isn't shown through punishment), so I may know where to start again. I tried randomly choosing/skipping passages(trying to see if he would guide me to see his love when I'm not actively looking for it), but everytime there's always warnings, punishment, the bible says one thing about him, continue reading and he does the opposite. 🥺

Pride is talked about in the Bible numerous times, and it was always to one's downfall and considered a sin. Just like sleeping with the same sex is a sin by God's standards. It's always wise to look at yourself and then look at creation and see how small we are in a universe that was created. People think they know everything now days when they have done nothing with their life. God has rules for a reason. it's not always just because he doesn't want you to do something. It's like adultery, for example. Why is it wrong to cheat on your spouse? I understand that morally, it's wrong, but who designed our morals and who gave us those feelings in the first place? God said adultery was a sin not just because he doesn't want you to have fun and enjoy other people he literally created Adam and Eve for each other that was creation and he understood how bad it would be for humanity if they did sleep with other people. I mean, look what divorce does to people. It's not surprising to say that cheating on one another destroys the life of everyone involved. Sexual sins have always done this. My point is that God made rules for a reason, and they weren't made to hinder you but to empower you. We always go against God and his creation. Whether you believe in the Bible or not, I would always recommend reading the Bible before making accusations. Spiritual warfare is real, and anyone who has had any experience with Jesus Christ would understand that this world and especially this nation right now, feels dark and unsteady. Demonic influence has never been higher in America.

In my opinion, if being gay was ok, there would not have been 2 genders in the first place. Thats why God created man and woman. And i think if it was ok maybe we wouldve seen the animals doing it also. But they're not, cause they know which gender they have to be with being whatever gender they are. When i was small i use to think that it was ok to like other girls being as i am a girl myself. Cause "love is love" right? but when Christ saved me from that thought process, depression, suicide and porn, ive never felt more free. There is a thin line between love and lust and many dont know the difference. Why is it ok to accept "loving your neighbor as yourself", but not ok to accept that being gay is morally wrong? I would disgree that we have evolved. Cause we just keep repeating the same things over and over again throughout history. I dont hate people who are gay, i was once there myself like i said. I hate the sin cause it causes them to be in more pain (something they dont even know is hurting them). And for those who dont believe in Jesus, just look back in history and tell me if the Bible lies cause there is evidence all around. And every single one of them is written in the Bible.
