I just find it baffling how they take a game with a solid, steady growth with unique mechanics and go, "Y'know what people want, a similar experience as every other shooter on the oversaturated market, let's move it in that direction." Now if they revert the new run speed it would also piss people off because they exchanged many experienced players for newer players. I happened to come into the game around a year before the change, and after playing both before and after I have to agree with the OG's that the slower movement speed was better. People in video games tend to take more risks because dying isn't as impactful as, well, real life, so the movement speed did a good job at mitigating how much risky behavior players would make into more realistic ones. Since the change I've seen, and performed, funny divebombs almost every match whereas before people had to be more thoughtful of how they moved, and heavy tanks have to be very careful of satchel rats because infantry can keep up with many of them. Team17 has yet to come out with a single positive update in the game so far (unless you consider the movement speed increase good) which is what concerns me. Performance is shoddier than it was before and each update seems to add more bugs than they claim to fix. For some reason they don't want a public test server, I assume to save on server costs, but in exchange they take major hits in quality in simple things that could be found by players willing to test bugs for them for free. They advertised a new game mode with probably the worst animation and voice acting a "triple-A" developer could produce, and the promise of an in-game store alongside it, showing that they are ready to recoup their costs quickly, which isn't objectively a bad thing but gives me the implication that they're willing to shove out low-quality content for a price tag. The game is still mostly fun and I'm enjoying it while it lasts, but I'm mostly seeing this as the beginning of a decline. Black Matter didn't make a perfect game, but it was a pretty smooth, unique and fun game under their updates, and it was steadily getting better with every update. It seems like T17 is struggling to fill in the shoes of Black Matter and are willing to sacrifice some mechanics which helped the game get the audience it had to try and appeal to people who probably aren't going to stick around.

iv got over 5k hours in game and probly considered a hll vet. if folk who have bee n around long enough can be brutally honest they will tell you the game has always been bad even under Black matter and Team 17 just get's progressivly worse by the update and that has been the trends since EA. Team 17 's last 6 months of development were crap and due to player pressure they had to change their car crash road map otherwise we would be on same car crash road map it's been on for the last 6 months which has been worst time for the game to date. we are currently awaiting to see their revised roadmap and this will seal the future fate of the game this is Team 17's last chance to salavge n save the game other wies It's Over. folk will look back and see this as a turning point. if folk didn't stop the currenet development road map there would be nothing for new players to come to, that's the whole point of why long term players are so angry and so vocal and harsh, they have to be hard to get through TEAM 17 thick skull's. if Tea m17 listened and interaced from the outset 6 months ago they would not have gotten so much kick back. it's took them 6 months to realise their current roadmap sucked and realize they need to comunicate with the community. again 6 months on and we still aint got much communication. also 6 months and the PTE servers aint even up n running or been used. the level's of incompetence from Team 17 are F'ing offensive! they have treated the comunity with so much contempt they deserve everything they got and have coming to them. people have spent years renting servers building community servers n clans etc makign content only to have Team 17 F'ing destroy it over night n harm their livelyhoods n incomes etc while they sit on millions of $. when you actully cut he sh*t it's really had to support or sympathize with Bm otr Team 17

After u14, i noticed that 90% of the games that i played, the players did not care anymore for playing tatically and together as a team. I uninstalled and moved to squad now.

The thing is that the majority of the people who review it negatively, is people with many hours in the game and without a tutorial the game depends on this community of veterans so that it can be played as intended to; so it might not be an immediate thing but if the game continues this trend there will be a point of no return where is going to die like post scriptum did, which is a shame because in fact this is my favorite game I've poured 600 hours in it and t17 being the company that they are, is making decisions detrimental to the growth of HLL, making the game to play more arcade fucks the meta that in my opinion was the perfect balance between arcade and milsim, making it the best "realistic" ww2 shooter in the market but hey at least we got several years til the development of resolve and posible competitors put the final nail in the coffin of this game. PS: english is not my first language, keep that in mind. forgot to mention that i mostly play tanks so it really anoys me the 20% change of speed

I have tons of hours. The amount of hacks in this game has gotten horrible. Also, they are moving toward COD way of gaming. Communication has horrible. No defence. This game is heading in a downward spiral.

Your game looks like it runs much nicer than mine. Have a high tier gaming PC but constant micro stutters and rubber banding on the new update running on medium settings, community TAA at 1440p. Every server I join I get "Host closed connection" and disconnected before I must try again. Driving vehicles is very bad now too the rubber banding makes it such a task.

I've played over 1300 hrs on hll, the thing that sticks in my throat is the populist choices they're making for the short term gain. I've been on during the week and the servers are dying, just makes no sense.

The new trailer illustrates all you need to know about the direction T17 has in mind for this game. Why they're commited to making infantry faster than vehicles I can't understand. Like fine make infantry faster but the devs can't balance these changes with the rest of the game. Need to tweak spawn times and vehicles too.

The game keeps crashing on me towards the end of a match, not to mention the lag, the British faction sucks and the maps are ass. And Team 17 just took what Black matter had done, and released it unfinished. This game will share the same fate as Post Scriptum by 2024.

I stopped playing that update not cause the run speed but all the vehicles would constantly Rubberband for weeks on console it was unbearable and certain spots on the map you'd get like 10fps. Made me feel like they don't give a shit so I stopped.

Still a fun game despite the changes. But losing those experienced players that helped to hold games togeather has had an impact. Gameplay standards are noticeably worse. Hopefully the new players stick around and "get it". Im definitely in the run speed increase was a mistake camp, but it is what it is. Brexit means brexit. New run speed means run speed. To revert it now would piss just as many players off as increasing it has.

Ive wanted to play this game. But i have bills to pay so im selective with games i buy... then it came out on xbox game pass which i have... i downloaded it and loaded into 3 seperate games picked my unit and loadout, spawned in started running towards a firefight and got disconnected from the server. Never got to fire a single bullet. Is it just console that is like this? I play other multiplayer games with no issues

Review bombing seems to be a made-up word. Companies want reviews to get said message. They develop this system as a tool, but then we’re criticized for using it as such? Ask yourself what is the point of a review process? Would it be for a company to understand it’s customer base? Would it be for the customer base to be able to communicate to the company? Provide a definition for reviews that don’t include “review bombing” under the same umbrella?

Seconds objectively speaking about something is objective. to create a review system that asked the individual their opinion is to ask for their opinion. it is not the customers responsibility to give a well and thought out review. It is for the developer to take the customers point of view and adjust the product. If I review a terribly made sandwich, I’m not going to say it’s OK compared to… I’m simply going to tell them how bad it is. There are a whole industries dedicated to this process. No customer is obligated to do this for free for a product they paid for. To think otherwise it’s just massaging the balls of the game developers.

If I wanted to run fast I would just play all the other casual shooter games out there that already provide that. Battlefield V, COD WW2, COD Vanguard, ehh Enlisted maybe? etc etc. IF ANYTHING we should be getting hardcore servers. Why not appeal to the players that play for the immersion and actually appreciate the environments. Not the ADHD bot players who can't use a mic, drop supplies, or take on the important role of squad leader. IF there were hardcore servers I would love not getting a hit marker sound. Or not seeing a garrison or OP light up. The suspense of not knowing where the enemy all the time is great. " for me " More intense suppression mechanics and slower movement to make fire and movement an actual thing. It's called synchronizing with your squad/teamwork. Recon planes would provide delayed information. Basically anyway this game holds your hand just remove it from hardcore servers. I know this will probably never exist. But we can dream about it.

Coming from a console player even with its bugs.....the old and the new theres still not another game like this on console. The only in Battlefield moments have been replaced by how the hell did I survive that moments in HLL. I think the community itself is destroying the game more so than T17. They came out with a patch shortly after update 14 and although it didnt fix everything it shows they are listening and trying to correct things to everyones liking but looking at the overwhelming negativity now pleasing everyone is going to be impossible. I paid $39 for this on Xbox. I paid $120 for that abysmal woke BF 2042 garbage. Theres a few youtubers that have been bashing the game but then all of a sudden you see them come back with a live stream of the game. The nay sayers keep coming back because theres still nothing quite like this game.

Im sorry but this is a review is coming from someone who doesn't understand the intricacies of what made this game great that have been destroyed with the recent update. The amount of bugs that have propped up since the recent update have made playing the game for any period of time a struggle, and you can see it in how long it takes to seed servers now. People don't play this game like they used to, and it is 100% Team17's fault. Can you pop in as a new player and have fun for a little bit? Sure, if you are playing the game like CoD and not playing objectives. In this video you aren't even playing recon correctly. This isn't CoD. You don't play for kills. You immediately lost me watching you play sniper without even your spotter anywhere nearby.

Its still a great game, but there has been a noticeable drop in experienced players to really keep the ethos going. Far too many now not on comms or just playing solo and without really "getting it". Its a shame, but will stick with it for a while longer in hope.

The game is bad, it has micro stutters, poor frame rates, map jolts when you click on it. A clutered map so you can hardly see the spawn points. Its pot luck you get one and then you can end up at the back of the map. The concept of front lines is none exstistant., basically you gets guys going all over the place on their own and just sitting in a bush near the back of the map to snip people off. This would not happen in real life, why? Just look at any war, people would not go off on their own, its a matter of common sense, saftey is in numbers but not in hell let loose. No one would disobey a nco let alone an officers. front lines have minds, thousands of troops, spotters, civilains and air cover to spot any trouble maker. If a guy was stupid enough to go off on his own, with just 100 rounds and a rifle he may be spoted by the thousand eyes. But soon as he lets off a shot everyone will be after him. Also the limitation of pc graphics , and monitors is apparent in this game. Also the game server numbers is always wrong, so you have to try muiltiple times to get into a game. Humans can see alot more than a monitor can offer, not only can they see if anything is moving but they can see shapes more clearly. A human can see about 190 degree horizonally and about 150 degrees vertically without moving his head or eyes. Add the head and eye movement then he has a greater range to see. None of his is modded in the game. All we get is a monitor with offers an narrow field of view. Also graphic setting can really affect what you see. So if you the game on high settings and the other guys has it on meduim to low he can see you fair quicker than you can. Why he does not have the extra foliage to stop hime from seeing you. Also the game crashes without warn quited a lot. When i played the game last year i had no crashes and could run the game full max with no problems. Now its hell let loose on the pc.

The hell let loose community sometimes reminds me of the Halo community... It almost thrives on negativity and bad news. The increased sprint speed was a bit dumb but I don't mind the jump to prone feature they added.

Your opinion that the game has been going down a wrong path under under new ownership but is not bad yet so give them money and enjoy it as it fails? I think the definition of objective has alluded you. You have read the reviews of others who have put far more time and effort into the game and then you recommend the opposite at the end. Your video is not objective it’s subjective.

As the owner of a Walther P38, I really love the animations with it in-hand. The weight of it seems exactly right. Details like that really shine through. Most of the complaints about the game's mechanics and direction seem valid, but the second camp of complaints -- that the new players *just aren't [as good in some way]* -- need to just give it some time. I'm sure today's newbies will be seasoned vets in no time, coordinating on coms and playing more properly.

I'm of the faction that believes the increased running speeds are inherently more realistic movement overhaul than the "fat man run" previously seen in the former part of hell let loose playstyles. SO here are some numbers. In ww2 the average G.I was around 140-150lbs without gear. The highest amount of gear seen on any soldier in WW2 was the paratroopers during D-Day whose weights came in at approximately 80+ lbs. That totals out at 240-250 lbs. Now most of that gear was lost or shed on landing in France decreasing those weights down to 210-215lbs. Paratroopers were among the most specialized of the American forces at the time. Let's take the average G.I now. The average G.I. could run 80m fitness tet shuttle runs in under 30 seconds full sprint. That is a 2.29 mps pace. Now couple this with the adrenaline kick to survive, desperation to cross a street and out of harm's way and you have a very quick soldier whose sole objective is to live, not walk in the field of flowers and sniff the roses while under MG fire or worse, artillery. I understand gameplay mechanics and people with too much time getting used to them, but seriously, we are MAD about a dude running TOO FAST? While simulating the idea of running for your life? I guess we love realism until it hinders our ability to sit back on a tower with a rifle and kill people in slow motion. I suppose those soldiers wish the Germans who flooded the trenches at the Battle of the Bulge ran a little slower. Y'all are funny. Note: I am only speaking of American forces. We were the most well-equipped military by 1944 by far further emphasizing my point. How about Russians who went into combat with no weapon? Surely they didn't worry about weight and ran a whole 0.5 mps pace?
