Nope. Like Moe said, he didn’t send the flowers from his heart to his wife. He covered and sent them from the baby. Regardless, even if he’d sent a romantic bouquet to his wife, he’s still wrong for hanging out with this other woman, especially after his wife voiced her concerns, and he lied to her.

Why do we think that a dad at home with a child is using another stay at home parent to babysit anymore than if it was another mum hanging out with someone whose child is the same age. It's easier on both parents and socialising for your kids. Everyone is different. If this woman is suspicious and knows he isn't being totally open... That's the issue, talk to him now. It could also be because he feels the double standard? Ask him. Figure out what you need... maybe by becoming friends with the mum and kid hanging out with yours all the time? Or saying it's too much and not ok. Good luck.

While the news is a relief to hear I would definately not let your guard down. Moe said it "it was from the child" either he knows the WOTR and/or the "thought" of cheating is on the horizon. You are just very observant and caught it in it's infancy or before it happened. I also like the idea (not that I agree with it) why not go to someone elses house and leave the mess there. Less to do when he gets home. Also, maybe he is just in so much of a routine that he just automatically goes there. I also agree that there is some degree of alienation (being a SAHD) so she is the "fun to hang out with" and is "great company" person and you are the one he is doing life with. Maybe paying him some extra attention when you get home MIGHT help. I don't know. Also, get to know the SAHM and see if you get any vibes from her that there might be more things going on and a "play date" for the kids.

It is a red flag simply because she said she is not comfortable with it and he keeps doing it. Maybe not cheating but definitely a red flag of disrespect. I would be surprised if there is not a 3rd parent that they could hang out with. Honestly if he hated it so much and now not only does he like it but he refuses to go back to work I don't think he is even relying on the other mom for help I think there might actually be infidelity.
