He is first and foremost a Gospel artist in Brazil although he does pop, R&B and of course Gospel. He grew up in a Baptist church singing with his dad and brother who are great musicians themselves. Musical family. His dad recognized early that Gabriel had an extraordinary voice. His dad loved Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. He got Gabriel CDs of them and he fell in love with these two singers. Interestingly Gabriel's voice went through almost no change when he went through puberty. He maintained the top end of his voice and it became stronger. He later developed his whistle register to the point where it is now considered the best whistle register in the world today male or female. He became very well known in Brazil when he went on a nationwide show in Brazil a few years ago called Shadow Brazil. His family knew that If Gabriel was ever going to achieve global recognition he had to get outside of Brazil and get to the States. Enter AGT. He turned them down in 2022 when the producers called because he thought it wasn't real. He also felt very intimidated because his English speaking is limited at this point, although he's working on it. His mother took the phone call in 2023 and she answered for him and said, "He'll be their" Mom's are wonderful!!! 😂 Well...that's probably enough information overload for one day. He has said many times in interviews that his gift is dedicated to bringing God glory. His faith is the core of who he is. He's simply an amazing guy with an amazing God-given gift. If you read all this well...that's amazing in itself. I'm out!!!😂
