i think whats happening is that the UFC is making this complicated and confusing on both sides. UFC probably wants to book max and ilia on the sphere but they also want to make the conor fight happen at the sphere. Now that he has the belt, he has to fight Max because of the insane 300 knockout and repaying the UFC. He was built up properly to become a champion, now he needs to act like a champion and fight the clear #1 contender.
