I've been wanting an ancient East Asian-themed farming sim for SO LONG. I'm so excited for this!! I'm hoping there's marriage

I've had this on my wish list for a long while, I actually wasn't expecting an English localization so I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks for covering it, wasn't sure about buying it or not yet.

Looks very interesting. Love that it is in China for a change. I would definitely play it if they can eventually port it to the switch as I am terribly at playing on the pc. I really need to see if I can hook up a controller to my pc as I have PS4 controllers.

The breakthrough system looks like a cultivation system, which is part of the chinese imaginary, like sects, in which people "cultivate" themselves to immortality. It is usually done by gathering qi and storing it within yourself, you then form a ball of sorts, which becomes the base of your powers, like a store of qi. The initial stages are usually called qi gathering and qi concentration stages, so I suppose that's why the names are qi initial stage and qi middle stage. then comes the golden core, the "ball" and then master or whatever, they usually vary within works. People are supposed to be able to cultivate in a variety of ways, most famously by martial arts, so yeah, you're cultivating to immortality via farming. Also, the calendar is the traditional chinese calendar, people still use it today :D That's why it looks so strange to us, because it's not at all like our roman calendars. I've always found the chinese calendar to be very interesting. In general, to be able to understand this game completely it looks like your need at least a basic understanding of chinese culture, more than knowing chinese (except for the parts that are not translated xD).

Kind of excited for this new setting to farming games. I really like the painting style of the graphics too. I hope they address a lot of the points you brought up in your first impression though.

Would love to see more of this game when it is developed more. I really like the art style!

The controls felt pretty good to me and the structure of breaking through and the concepts of the days make sense if you are familiar with chinese culture and xianxia.

This game has been pretty fun the couple of days I've been playing - I think it's also on sale on Steam at the moment. The devs have been pretty much updating the game daily and the unequipping to grab the mana orbs and other things like plants has been changed so you don't have to that anymore. The changelog on Steam shows how much they've already implemented in just a few days. The devs also seem super responsive as well to feedback (multiple game save slots is another thing they just added).

I'm so excited for this game! Hopefully the devs can be more clear about the whole story and go further in-depth. I didn't really understand anything in demo and only started piecing things together when I came across a manhwa that also featured a sect. The entire premise is interesting and I wouldn't mind reading more about it in the game.

Nice review. They have already listen to you. Since V.0.4.13, you do not have to unequip tools before E picking item., very nice change indeed. CGSL are item standards, each more valuable. I enjoy the kitchen and hope we will get our own latter.

I really only just found out about this game a few days back. I'm glad there are still many of such games in development that I am unaware of because its almost the only genre I play. I am definitely looking forward to this one as its a totally different background.

I know this is an older video, but I just started playing this after buying it a while back. I’m loving it even though I’m not real familiar w Chinese culture. It is interesting, engaging, fun and a nice change from the normal farming sims. It seems they have done a lot of updating too. They are on version .9. The price is also great for the amount of content in the game. I’m just wondering if you have revisited this game?

I've been playing this game for a while. I absolutely love it. It's a great chinese cultivation game and has very enjoyable progression and gameplay!

The demo has been interesting so far, though I do wish I could play it in windowed mode, full screen feels a bit weird but the fun has been outweighing it so far and I'm really enjoying the Wuxia/Harvest Moon combo. Definitely looking forward to where it all goes :)

I've been dying to play a cultivation game that ticks all my boxes, stardew cultivation isn't a huge stretch for me, so this game is interesting. However I can't stand playing sandbox games that aren't feature complete, its just so much time investment to get into and you might as well toss all that out if/when the game ever gets finished.

This game appeared on the feed I wondered what it was about. Most Ancient China based games I have played were MMos. Unusual to have farmin sim genre based in this setting. I know in SoS games there is Asian style. In Chinese culture very common to have surname before first name. Sadly, I can read traditional Chinese very basic. I'll check on the game on Steam. I started playing Grow: Song of Evertree it's very repetitive like you said on the livestream. I find myself collecting stuff, fishing and bug catch to trade coins to buy rare essences.

Looks cute! My wife is Chinese and is able to read it so I think she'll have a great time playing this. She also loves watching shows that take place in ancient China. Might wait for it to get developed a little further though.

Yeah, also the last name in Asia/Chinese comes 1st so they'd need to add an option reverse this for people that want a western name. I like this theme cultivation/xanxia/xuaxuan etc. style. It's unique so far.

Do anyone know a farming game that has a LOT of different and varied crops/etc. you can grow? I mean a LOT. Way more than SV. For example, 3 kinds of tomatoes alone. Like hundreds of different crops, but maybe you have to specialize to create certain dishes/crafts.

Some of the interface and control functions for using tools etc seems somewhat clunky to me, perhaps those will improve with time.
