Is Infinite Crisis the greatest DC Comics event?

Infinite Crisis was released in 2006 by DC Comics. Written by Geoff Johns and with a plethora of top-tier artists, it had the impossible task of following up Crisis On Infinite Earths and reshaping the entire DC Multiverse. But is the rift between Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the rest of the Justice League too difficult to overcome?
Having read the full omnibus, I revisit what is often said to be the most important modern DC Comics event, to see how well it reads today.

You also kind of need to read identity crisis because it kind of sets all this up and there's a few other books you need to read too I pretty much have every tie in to infinite crisis it was an office awesome event but I just wish it had more impact for such a major event it didn't really reboot anything it just kind of put a few things back into place but everything was still the same and I was wanting some major continuity changes but I did not want the multiverse back that was for sure and that was the big mistake of infinite crisis and we're still filling the effects of it today in the DC universe with this stupid omniverse which makes absolutely no sense you can't have every story be happening to one character and say that they all count in continuity you can't have that work I want the post crisis DC universe back where there's one universe you can do your elseworld stories and so those are like what ifs like marvel does but they don't actually exist they're just what if stories there's nothing wrong with doing those and go back to just one universe there's one Batman there's one Superman one Wonder woman etc etc etc

Infinite Crisis is my favorite comic-book event. I love the art and the story. The only thing I didn’t like was that the “promise” of having a more adjusted Batman that trust people was never fulfilled, after the event I expected a period in we would get stories in the vein of ‘Batman Universe’, but instead they got a lot darker with the introduction of Damian. Still, love this event and love this review! Also love the cover of the omnibus by Phill Jiménez in the background, I have it as a poster! (Strangely that was, I think, the only cover he drew) Greetings from Chile!

it's very good. the villains get a much bigger part of the story and the Secret Six came out of this.

As far as I'm aware they never released everything in paperback format in chronological order. After watching your review I'm really eager and excited to read Infinite Crisis. I will probably go down the omni route at some point.🤔👍

well, at least you can always look back at great stories, because looking forward is kind of hard knowing at any time any hero and or villain can get their superpowers from happy meals at your local fast food joint.

00 it's an awesome event but there weren't really a whole lot of changes even though they called it sort of a reboot this was not even close to a reboot All the continuity was the same afterwards other than a couple little tweaks everything still happened exactly the same other than the multiverse returned which just destroyed DC comics since then we need one universe and that's it the -post crisis is the best way to do things pre-infinite crisis anniversary with one universe is the best

If I'm not wrong after the infinite crisis and final crisis the new earth became called prime earth but most of it's heroes r from the earth 1 before, crisis on infinite earth. So what happened to earth 1 after it was brought back ?

A complete nostalgic ride for me,forgot all about this series.Has some of my favorite artists also: George Perez,Orway,Reis and Phil Jimenez. 2005 I was fighting in Iraq ( I volunteered for 4 deployments )with the Texas Guard.Had a 3 month train-up in 2004 at Ft Hood,Tx ( Hood is under a different name now )and a 2 month train-up at Ft Polk.I was in an infantry unit at Camp TQ and did joint missions with the marines at TQ.Then did a follow up train-up with an aviation bridgade at Ft Hood,Tx in 2006 for 5 months.Yes,I did do back-to-back deployments to Iraq. LOL. Maybe not the smartest decision now,but,it was then. LOL. Had some WILD times on that 5 month train-up,most of it I can't talk about on youtube tho. LOL. This aviation brigade was also a guard unit,out of San Antonio,Tx,they drove their military vehicles from San Antonio to Ft Hood.This guard unit has some of the most-GORGEOUS-women I had ever seen:black,white,a few asian and Mexican women. LOL.They made the female soldiers on Ft Hood look like hags by comparison.

Infinite crisis has to be DCs best event by far within a doubt. I read it for the first time in novel format, then the trade, omnibus and finally the absolute. It's way better than crisis on infinite earths imo

I didn’t like infinite crisis Omni. I didn’t hate it I thought it was just okay. Had some highs and some very low lows. I liked the blue beetle stuff at the beginning the most

Infinite Crisis certainly had the potential to be the greatest event. Literally the year's comics prior to launch all contributed little bits and clues from events like FOR TOMORROW to single standalone like COUNTDOWN. Of course, Geoff Johns just cannot close strong and cannot respect Wonder Woman. Thus when he picks up the pen, the conclusion doesn't follow through on the Trinity theme. The idea was that when the Trinity is broken, the DCU heroes don't function effectively. What SHOULD have have happened is that when Superman and WW had their confrontation with OG Superman, She should have been given a big action sequence dealing with Doomsday and Psycho with the pridon break on earth while Superman went out to space to fight Superboy Prime, and Batman dealing with Brother Eye. But instead Johns gives WW no play whatsoever. She literally drops out of the story till the very end to deliver a line to Batman. It was such a waste that would have thematically carried through the themes started in SACRIFICE.
