Is It A SIN If I SMOKE?
God's grace upon the saved believers permits a lot of liberty, but not everything is pleasing to Him, and disobedience can limit what God intends for us. We believe that one part of living an abundant, blessed life is obedience to Him. Just as with any other sin, smoking is forgivable, whether you are just becoming a Christian or are already a Christian confessing your sin to God. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness” 1 John 1v9.

I used to smoke until I began a fast at the beginning of 2023 and stayed away from what I felt and identified through discernment what I did that never glorified God. I came to realise it is an idol. God is our source of comfort, peace, rest we must abide in Him and meditate on His word. I had this revelation during the fast confirming smoking is not of God and through making Him my source of peace and knowing that He shall supply all my needs my hearts desire is not to be in bondage anymore seeking comfort in a poison. It was defeated at the cross and I have I been set free.

over 63 yrs of smoking!!!!!!!! I went to NY , Pagani church, left crying, they said I could do it on my own!!!!!!!!!!!! Went to other , many other deliverances, and HATE EVERY TIME, I LIGHT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO PLEASE pray for me, everyone here please!!!!!!!!!!

This is the most difficult addiction to overcome! I write this as I'm smoking 🚬 and I have quit many times, but usually with the help of a nicotine substitute like Vaping, or patches, etc. I have overcome a heroin and Crack addiction but this cigarette addiction is by far the most difficult to battle. God bless you on your journey to quit this horrible addiction!❤😮

I smoked for 53 years until I found God and wanted to be baptized. I tried so hard to quit… I was on my knees weeping and praying, told the Father I couldn’t do it without His help and I wasn’t getting into the baptistery until I was free of smoking. He took it away that night! PRAISE GOD!!! 🙏🔥🙏

I was a very heavy smoker for over 30 years. I tried stopping by myself , did not succeed. I prayed to God to please remove cigarettes from me, that I don’t have any cravings.. A few weeks later as my hand went out to reach for my cigarettes, I heard a voice . I am your redeemer , do not sin anymore. I knew immediately it was Jesus , I never smoked again and never had a craving again . It’s now two years. Thank you Jesus. ❤❤❤ what a awesome God we serve.

20 years ago, I had the most wonderful deliverance from cigarettes…One morning, after I glanced at the cigarette pack, and thought ‘I got to go get cigarettes’ and Holy Spirit said « No you don’t » …I then said in my thoughts ‘ yes I do cause I’m addicted’ then Holy Spirit said ‘ I know you are but I can help you’ …I then realized that it was the Holy Spirit, I bowed my head and prayed asked the Lord to take away the desire for it…Praise the Lord…I immediately lost all cravings and I’ve never smoked another cigarette. Since then, I learned that no matter what the sin/struggle/addiction is, I can give it ‘all’ to Jesus. All I need to do is ASK HIM! Only believe and receive! Ask Him for Faith…He loves us so much…thank you Jesus and bless those that wants deliverance from tobacco in your precious and Holy Name I ask…Amen ❤

Tallywave25, yes I would suggest that you put that addiction on the back burner; meaning do not worry about it for now…God will deliver you when you are ready. That’s what happened to me before that morning. I stopped being anxious about it and left it with the Lord. I hope this helps and may God help you on your journey with Him.

Remind the Devil he is a thief, a murdererand a destroyer and liar and that he will soon be cast into the Lake of Fire. Declare 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ,over your life putting you name in the text - make it personal. Speak Romans 15:13 over your life. Confess Jesus Christ as Lord over that area of your life which is causing you grief. Feast on God's Word daily. Submit to God's Word daily. Ask Father God to fill you completely with His Holy Spirit. Luke 11:13 1 John 5:4 and 1 John 4:18 Live and abide in Jesus your Safe Zone

Vlad Thank you, at 61 years old on my knees in my garage I renounce the power of tobacco on my life through all these years. As a musician since I was 14 cigarettes have been a stronghold but tonight with the help of the Lord Jesus and in HIS name I believe this is a sin I MUST repent from and I pray that anyone seeing this will pray for me. I was a heavy smoker and one day June 2015 the lord tock away the desire to want it. I never smoked or was tempted to smoke even today. And I loved smoking. Only he can. He cleans out the dirt- addictions.

Keep praying, but add fasting. Go several days without food. I recommend 6 full days and then also on the seventh day do a strong commanding prayer over yourself and command everything that is not of God to come out of your life in Jesus Chists name. Tell it go now and never come back all addiction out! This is the Jericho method. Joshua chaper 6. Break the walls!

Try slowly weening yourself off of it, if that means one less cigarette every day or even one less cigarette every week. Let your body slowly adapt to less and less nicotine. It won’t be easy but it will be much easier than going cold turkey or doing some weird fasting method.

I've tried so hard to quit weed and I finally did. God took the desire away from me. While I was at it, I decided to completely give up any alcohol as well. I am grateful Lord 🙏 🥰😇. Be of sober mind. The devil prowls around like a lion searching for whom he may devour...that verse really sticks with me.

I was delivered from my weed addiction a month ago after being a poly addict for about 8 years I gave up all hard drugs but continued smoking weed, the lord convicted me of it towards the end of 2022 and I tried stopping but I couldn’t because I was using my own will and that doesn’t work, I prayed for deliverance for about 2 months and can happily say the lord was faithful to deliver me from my crutch! I am not completely sober and haven’t felt better praise God

I smoked for 30 years and I got cancer before I was going for my surgery to have it removed from my right lung I was still smoking.I was in my hospital room I was in so much pain I knew how addicted I was to smoking cigarettes I got out of my bed and kneeled down and started praying I was crying I ask god to take it away from me I didn’t want to smoke anymore I cried telling him .

I was a moderate drinker and a heavy pot smoker and the day i was going to my baptism i said i wont smoke today ..i want to be straight to meet the Lord ..i said i will smoke tomorrow ..i think i could do one day without smoking for God ... Then when i came back home i see the hashtray and i almost trow up ...never smoke again ...2 days after i decide to take a beer ...the first one was very weird but i force myself ...i said to myself maybe the second one will be better....i had to dump it in the sink ...i dont drink since Thank you Lord for taking of the spirits of addiction that i had at my baptisim ..the Holy Spirit told me if i have to live in you im gone make a major clean up ...thanks again Lord im bless

That verse was talking about green herbs and fruits that we consume for growth and nutrition.

I have recently just found god. I quit cocaine, alcohol and Weed. I still smoke a vape now. I am trying to stop and I am sure I will. I found god before I quit vaping. I think it would be worse for me to put god off until after I stopped vaping. However if I didn't smoke found god and then started vaping then it could be different but hey I'm not the judge here. i used to be fascinated with drugs and their effects and grew addicted as well. it was a very dark and twisted path. i used to think psychedelics were good etc and smoking weed and nicotine was a constant habit along side everything else. Praise the Lord he delivered me from drugs. i did everything you can name and many things most people will never know exists. Just know the power of the lord knows no bounds and Jesus can and will deliver you if you allow him and if you are serious! i still have my nicotine addiction but the lord has been sculpting me into the man he needs me to be little by little i shed these bad habits and will deliver me from this too! Trust in the process, Trust in the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY. he will deliver me from this as well. if he got me off xanax and haroin he can get my off this petty nicotine! Praise God and thank you Vlad for being a logical, godly and honest teacher. You're an inspiration!

This is right on time. I quit smoking six days ago. I daily beg Holy Spirit to help. For me, it’s very hard. I crave them constantly. I’m currently in the throws of physical withdrawal. I am quitting to please God. Dying on the cross daily. My next struggle will be with Little Debbie and her sugary friends. Not smoking is making me want to eat SO MUCH. I keep asking Holy Spirit to help me, minute by minute. I think anyone that’s born again, knows smoking is a sin. Like any other, we choose to sacrifice what we want for what God wants. Been watching y’all for so many years! Your content is indispensable to me. Thru you, I’ve been led to Isaiah, David Diga, and so many others. I am bursting with love for your whole family and team. Just wanted to give you some encouragement for the humility to die to self for Christ. I quit smoking January 1st of 2021, and my husband and I quit drinking August 2022. It's definitely not easy, BUT I promise it gets easier. Keep leaning on God and understand how to recognize attacks and temptations when they come, and they WILL. God's got you. He started something in you and He won't stop as long as you keep pressing into Him. Over time this new creation of you will overshadow the old you and you will gain confidence in your decisions to reject the world and sin and you will feel at home in your obedience and faithfulness to God. May He continue to bless you ❤

i was very addicted to smoking. One morning i prayed something like: Lord i don't want this anymore. Later that morning while i was on my bicycle, i suddenly felt a Power through my body and saw a Vision of ropes being cut from my wrists, and my cravings were gone. i wasn't sure if what happened was "real", so i kept a few cigarettes in case, but later through them away. Praise Jesus, my Lord🛐

So true... smoking is a killing habit, not only for the body but also it affects us spiritually. My grandpa, passed away this last December. When he was young, he was a heavy smoker and wouldn't listen to any advice. I remember that 1 month before he died he told me he regreted doing that and apologized for bringing so much suffering to us, especially my grandma. He completely quit smoking when he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior many years ago, but the consequences of his sin prevailed in his body and affected those around him.

A little over a year that I've been delivered from Marijuana. God placed it on my heart to let it go and helped me soo much through it. Marijuana brought the spirit of anxiety on me. Most people that smoke Marijuana don't see the things it does to them until they try to stop or have stopped. I see how much it affects my friends and family. My husband can't do anything without have smoked and thats not normal or ok. My cousins start being rebellious, disrespectful and not motivated when they start the habit of smoking and its every couple months I find out another cousin has started. Its a pattern I see with people that smoke, they also start to struggle with being social.

Pray God breaks you from that addictive strong hold. Additionally try taking zeolite, liquid or powder form(mix power with water). It rids the body of toxins. Please do your own research and trust God who set your free through Christ to be your answer. The Holy Spirit will give you the Christ strategy to be more than an overcome through Him.

I'm working on quitting also. It's been 4 years of use, and I'm just surrendering to the Lord every day and repenting and asking for help. The turning away is an ongoing process, but I know I'll get there. And I'm a singer, and a part of my purpose is singing for the Lord. Smoking, drinking and gluttony are addictions. It takes time and effort to overcome these. For stress relief: #1 - Praise the Lord. Singing praises will immediately calm your soul and help you cope. #2 Pray to the Lord to unburden your self. Both of these activities remind you that God is in control and your ultimate and only true Savior. For answers: Read your Bible and confess your sins regularly. Surround yourself with like minded and encouraging people.

I started smoking @ 14 and smoked for 10 yrs till I was 24 and I was going to have my first kid and I knew I had to quit if I want to have a healthy child but I ended up quiting around 7 months pregnant b4 I actually quit and I had 3 more months to go to reach full term 40 weeks and I quit @ 7 months and when she was born she was 💯 percent healthy & weighing 7Lb 14 1/2 oz 19 inches in length and that was 31 yrs ago and to this day I never touched another cigarette since and that was the best thing I ever did praise the Lord. Thank you heavenly Father! 🙏😇😁😊💪👋💋♥️💝💖💞 Amen!

Quit for 5 years, took a couple of puffs and was back smoking. This time was harder to quit ...BUT GOD! Smoke free now for 5 months. Best advice: Quit cold turkey. I could never wean myself off. No irritation, no weight gain or cravings! That was only GOD! ~ 10:15 EST

I quit smoking marijuana and drinking, I'm struggling to quit smoking cigarettes. I've ordered some workout bands and things for exercise, as I thought that could be a replacement for addictive habits. Yes I have smoked cigs and weed fulltime for over 30 yrs. Weekend drinks became every other day. Ive had knowledge of Father GOD who loves me, but i felt unworthy. Recently ive started searching for ways to show JESUS that i love HIM and ACCEPT HIM AS MY SAVIOR. With free will that GOD GAVE, Ive given up on alcohol and sexual partner to devote more energy to this cause. That was a piece of cake! The hardest thing is accepting(im unworthy) that if i put it in GODS hands the smoking will cease to exist also! Fasting and praying does help alot! Please help me remember in my toughest times is when HE will carry me thru ANYTHING. ONLY GOD KNOWS WHAT IS IN OUR HEARTS. We are ALL responsible for what we know. And i avoided (til now) all those stop smoking related videos. Now let me pick up my cross today, being the last day i smoke anything fulltime...or anytime!!! Pray for me as I do you. IN JESUS NAME. AMEN AMEN HALLELUJAH It is satans full time job to deceive us and to make us feel not good enough to be in GODS presence. He even tempted Jesus! Keep praying, but add fasting. Go several days without food. I recommend 6 full days and then also on the seventh day do a strong commanding prayer over yourself and command everything that is not of God to come out of your life in Jesus Chists name. Tell it go now and never come back all addiction out! Shout it! This is the Jericho method. Read the Bible Joshua chapter 6. Break the walls! It is a stronghold that will break down!

I've smoked since around 10 years old, stopped a few times but always gone back to it, I couldn't keep away I could not do it on my own. When I came to Jesus I realised it was not what He would want me to be doing and I wanted to stop to please Him, the moment I asked for help to quit I kid you notni woke up the very next day and had no desire to smoke what so ever! Not even any withdrawals from quitting or anything, you have to be honest with Jesus and allow Him to see you really want to quit and hand yourself over to Him and I'm sure He will save you from it like He did me. Oh and by the way, smoking was just one of the addictions Jesus healed me from, that morning I was healed from multiple substance abuse. All glory to Jesus Christ ❤️✝️

Thank you I needed this. I’ve been smoking w**d and tobacco since I was 12 and I’m 30 now. My faith started about June 2022 and the chastisement I feel for smoking is coming to a peak nowadays. It’s been annoying not knowing God’s clear commandment on smoking.. but as you hinted to.. seeking wisdom should show us what is helpful. I know within myself it’s not helpful and that is enough to make it sinful. Sooo good kick in the butt my brother, thanks again. 😅🙏🏽

As a word of encouragement, I used to smoke for years, too, but I realized that there is a lifestyle and mindframe associated/coming from smoking the devil's lettuce/wackey tobbackey. To me, it isn't righteous to reject the sobriety God has given us, because there are so many people who don't have a sound mind from drugs, I never want to be associated with that, so that was my reason. Once you're sober, I found that initially I had to force my brain to think more clearly, but it became habit and my life is so much more fulfilled because I had the clarity of mind, thank God, to make wise decisions.

Smoking also hinders our prayers.. I was in bondage to smoking for 25 years, once I quit cold turkey, the chains were visibly broken. The deliverance was very obvious in every aspect of my life.. smoking is the devils ploy.

@@Psalm-yg6yi but then again wine can destroy the body too but Jesus approved of wine drinking… so it seems moderation is what it takes to get away with drinking wine according to Scripture. That’s what makes smoking a grey area where Scripture is concerned I feel. (edit) It seems no amount of smoking is justified though.. just by the wisdom that consuming smoke isn’t an innate tool of survival like eating or drinking.

Wow it hard i’ve been smoking since I was 14 I am 62 and it’s hard very hard. I’ve tried patch and it still gives me the urge and I know I have to quit because I want to fast and I can’t do that until I quit. What can I do? I’ve prayed for God to give me willpower and I’m still smoking. I hate it I don’t like it and I prayed over and over asking Jesus to help me and nothings working, so what am I supposed to do? It's so difficult for me to stop. Even thinking about stopping makes me go and smoke. I ask God to take the desire and cravings from me and my tastebuds. Waiting for his deliverance. It does damage our testimony and i hate that. As well as others around us. I too got addicted because my friend brought it and peer pressure. Y'all please pray for me too!

I smoked from 2000 till 2017. I want to testify that in March 2017 after a fast on retreats a priest prayed for me and layed hands and Jesus delivered me from cigarette addiction. It was not planned by me nor did I asked. They just made a spontaneous altar call. They explicitly prayed against it and I felt something like the shape of my silhouette blocking me was ripped of of me from my toes to the forehead and flew away. At the same retreats Jesus freed me from chronical colon disease Colitis Ulcerosa. Jesus is King, He is Lord, He is Healer, He is God. I didn’t touch a cigarette since March 2017 nor did I ever desire. I will never go back by the grace of God. I am free in the name of Jesu and pray for everyone Jesus will free you all too!

I understand. I suggest you ask the Holy Spirit over and over to help. Even if your not ready. Just go thru the motion of asking all the time. Ask that he create a desire to quit in you. It will eventually come to pass. It will be a sacrifice of your flesh in Gods honor. When we honor him, he honors us. I quit six days ago. I crave them every second. I cry out to Holy Spirit to help constantly and get thru that minute. It’s hard, but I feel a sense of joy. I feel humility and power at the same time, because I’ve chosen to quit. You CAN do it!

Switch to vaping (not salt nics as they are very high in nicotine more then cigs ) then slowly reduce the nicotine strength. Also focusing on God during this time. Once the nicotine is so low it’s much easier to quit learn how to make your own vaping fluid saves A LOT of money and allows you to reduce nicotine over time. 😃✝️

First, the Bible tells us NOT to act like the world. Smoking is what the world does and it is not honoring God. The Bible tells us not to hurt ourselves either…smoking hurts us and gives us lung cancer and all those problem so that’s also not following the Bible. Even if it wasn’t a sin, it still hurts us if we do it. It’s an addiction and it’s not a good one either. If it is of the world, don’t do it because the world is not of God.

Vlad! Hello sir!...you seem like a guy who wants to serve God sincerely. A few points on this vid. My only reason for writing this is that anytime someone says "The Bible doesn't say this is a sin, but its still a sin", I think there's gonna be a problem. I saw your tattoo video where you made similar points. First, you quoted a verse which spoke about a root being good or evil and then changed that to refer to origins of something. Root and origins are not the same. If they were, then, like you mentioned, we couldn't do anything basically since many things have some origin somewhere which isn't good. Second, "smoking damages the body". So does sugar, fatty foods, caffeine, running, sports, being out in the sun, etc. If something damaging the body makes it sinful, then you can''t do any of those. Obviously we aren't arguing over whether smoking is good for you, its not. "Smoking is highly addictive". Fair, but that doesn't make something wrong. Choosing to become addicted to that is different. Now of all your points, this is the best one for why someone might consider staying away from tobacco, but let's not call it sinful. "It conforms to the culture". So does coffee, so does your trendy haircut (not an insult at all), so does wearing jeans, so does using youtube. Churches have preached against a lot of things wrongly, like tattoos as well. Remember, "world" is the sinful stuff around us. Since smoking isn't sinful, then its not inherently part of the world. "Smoking affects people around". Then don't spoke around others. This is a good point for wisdom, but lets not say that makes it sin. "Smoking wastes money". I guess who determines what is a waste of money. Every luxury or hobby is a waste of money unless it brings joy to the person. So....all that to say, be careful if your'e gonna say that something is wrong even though the Bible doesn't say it. The temple of God verse is referring to sexual sin, so, "dont use God's temple to sin". Fair enough....if something isn't sin, you cant use that verse to prove that it is sin. In the end, be wise. If something controls you, then thats were the gospel comes in. But let's not add to things that are wrong beyond what the Bible says

I believe it's unholy, and I been fighting dipping snuff for 45 years and I pray and will continue to ask God through Jesus Christ for deliverance. The body is the temple of God, the Lord has delivered me from drug addicts twice and alcohol and I know it's wrong but it has a hold that I can't break on my own, I have laid it down more times than I can count, I know God isn't finished with me and I will continue to pray for deliverance and It will come in God's timing. I believe this with everything I've been through in the Lord, life is a battle and Jesus Christ gives us His spirit to use daily. I'm going to stand on the promises of God to one day be able to worship in spirit and truth

Physical addiction to ciggarettes is not a real thing, it's a choice plain and simple. You've simply formed a habit and found comfort in that habit. Find a quiet place where you can rest for 3 days, sip something with sugar in it like soda and stay calm. After 3 days it's all in your head. Nicotine levels are halved after 24 hours so in one day you have won HALF the battle, think about that. This thing that's had a hold over you can lose half its power in ONE DAY.

Jesus delivered me from alcohol when He saved me, because that evil substance was killing me and ruined my life, as it has killed and destroyed millions of lives, and Jesus permitted me to smoke tobacco after i was born again, for a season, then the Holy Spirit delivered me from niccotine. All harmful lifestyles and habits are to be avoided equally, not just one.

I was a smoker for 30 years. One pack a day for that whole time. The Holy Spirit spoke to me and heavily convicted my smoking and He said that our ministry could not grow until I quit. I was not familiar with the deliverance ministry. Coming from a very religious territory we weren’t taught of this key gift of God. The Lord sent me to service led by a woman deliverance minster, which was also a no no. Long story short… I was delivered from the spirit of addiction and religion. Our ministry has sling shotted. All glory to God. QUIT IN JESUS NAME. If you don’t believe me test it. Day 3 of not smoking you will hear the growling now that your aware and this is separate of a “nic fit”. Come out in JESUS NAME!

I am addicted to sugar. I quit for one year and i allowed myself to eat it once in christmas, ever since i have been addicted again and it is hard to quit again but i am trying.
