I think we should stop being offended. If you find this problematic, you don’t know what problems are.

Unless the person who complained is actually a senior, I think they should shut up. And if they are a senior and complained, lighten up!

what do I think teachers should do on the 100th day?? uhm... how about teach the kids just like every other day? I don't understand why the 100th day is any more special than the 99th day or the 101st day. Someone had a suggestion of having them reflect on the first 100 days and then think about their next 100 days and what they want to accomplish. I think that is a great idea. it doesn't have to be confined to the 100th day either... especially if the kids are younger. having a shorter timespan for younger kids would be needed.

I'm so confused by this video. Are you actually taking their criticisms seriously and taking each argument into consideration? This video could have been more efficient: 3 seconds of rolling on the floor laughing out loud...the end.

Kids can bring in 100 things that annoy people. Otherwise I enjoyed dressing up my kids as old people. I didn’t have to buy anything from anywhere and they looked great. My son is only 4 and wanted to wear his slacks and Mickey Mouse shirt. It worked. My girls wore my old cardigans and their church dresses along with old beads I had. We had a wonderful time talking about old people and how we may also grow old. I am very very tired of this feeling offended business. It’s exhausting.

I don’t love the “dress up like a hundred year old” shtick. Or the “bring in a hundred of something”. I’m not offended per se but it does require many people to go out to buy things for this & not everyone can afford to do so, especially for all the wacky spirit days our school comes up with. I think themes are fun and motivating and can definitely be done in a way to b mindful that not everyone can constantly go out & buy materials for them.

I'm English and have had 5 kids go through all stages of school. Now we do have a dress uniform in all schools from the nursery ages to the seniors. College and University obviously not. People need to stop been offended and grow the hell up. However I will wade in with these schools and say that it is over the top the amount of times I had to have all 5 of my kids in some sort of fancy dress costume that they hated putting on and cost me a fortune to either make or buy. We never had anything like this when I was at school. Now some parents are getting so upset because they can not afford to keep doing this. They are struggling to put food on the table and a roof over their head. Once or twice a year is fine. As for it been ageist has anyone thought to ask the actual age group they are been dressed up as if it offends them. I would put money down that not only would the answer be no they would laugh at you for asking. Let the children alone allow them the very small window of time to be who ever they want to be they don't understand what offended means. They just like dressing up. One of my sons went to every single thing in the same sort of outfit and no matter how many times I said that's not what they want he would not back down and do you know what the teachers said leave him be. He went as Spiderman.

I've been doing 100 days of school for years. it allows the children to reflect on what they have learned and what they want to learn the next 100 days. We ask kids to bring in 100 of something ( 100 pieces of rice, etc) and make a board with it. what can you do in 100 seconds, what do you want 100 of, reading 100 books, wearing something with 100 stickers on it, etc...... If a parent complains about this style of dress, I'm sure they complain about other things as well. They can opt out, or you can cancel the day, or just not dress up. At least you live in a place you have the option of dressing up, as some schools will never deviate from the uniform. Enjoy your day! Gina.

Calm down. That's what I think everyone should do.

Even if I were super old, I doubt I'd be offended at this. I'd probably just think it was cute and funny. And it's not like they're trying to be offensive. Intention is important. If someone is doing something innocent and harmless and you get offended at it, that's on you.
