Flopped 3 sets in yesterdays 6 hour session, all cracked by a board running out with 4 to a straight. Called off on one of them from tilt in a 200 dollar pot. Aces cracked by an ugly 2 pair. Got to the point I had monsters under the bed and was afraid to get thin value. Managed to break even but man was it a session from hell mentally. Love your vlog bro I’m from Fresno and often think to go out and play at capitol in hopes to run into you or Doug!

I dig your videos, I live in LA, but I played a couple times at Capitol, when I lived in Fairfield and worked in Sac off T street. My only tip is to say On that AK diamond hand with J-J-8 rainbow. I love the check, but when the player to your right bets and the 3rd player folds. I would highly suggest a 1/3 reraise. You play pretty sturdy so your image would reflect A-J or even pocket 8s. If you get a shove you fold. But check raising in that spot from out of position with a sturdy image will get almost everything but over pairs(unlikely as he didn't isolate reraise preflop) a-j, 88, and 10-9 backdoor suited. If you get a call you can see the turn and will appear to trap and unless he has it will check and you get to see a river and decide from there Great job on the content, and good luck next time 💪🏽

@romedawg12043 ай бұрын
Yes 100%,(dependent on a couple of micro issues i.e opponents stack size, and table image)he thought of c-betting as he stated but didn't want to into 2 people. So a sandbag reraise will force everything but John's in the pocket for quads(obviously)a-j, k,-j and pocket 8s to consider a fold.(even q-j and def j-(x) should consider slowing down due to the preflop raise and check trap) Especially with my man's video image, lastly he had 700 to play so if a fold is needed do to a shove he still had a 500 dollar buy in left which is what he normally buys for. That's my arm chair opinion, May not be right with that hand in particular as he could have it....but def thinks he would improve with a couple of bluffs, especially after the board comes j-j-8 with only 2 callers and 1 fold. Only saying my opinion as he asked for us to comment on it, would love to hear yours if you have a counter point on why you think different.

@@NorCal_Poker you normally play from 9:00am to 2:00pm? I understand your work schedule dictates when you play poker. I play mostly out of Atlantic City. Evening poker in AC is best fueled by the "free drinks". Sometimes I'll play through the night and into the early morning hours. Playing out of racks simply slows most people down from getting the right chips out on a bet. Also I think the bad luck idea comes from associating the people who played their last hand (usually way too loose since it is the last hand) while racking, getting stuck and losing.

Is it bad luck to play out of the rack? I don’t think it is. However, playing out of the rack at the end of a session lets the entire table know where your head is mentally: you’re relatively checked out and on the way out the door, and your range is probably going to be significantly wider than usual.
