Is it Destiny or Karma

The question asked in the discourse was - What is destiny vs. how much of it do we control in terms of karma.
Destiny is not something that can be proven. When someone is hit with a brick in their head, they look around and question why this happened to them. On the contrary, if someone gets a million dollars no one questions why they got it. But when we go through a tough time, that's when we question if it is destiny or what did I do in my life to deserve something like this. The truth is, anything can happen to anyone. It doesn't matter how good your karma or how sound your destiny is. One must always work in life believing in karma, destiny can only play a role if you become a worthy recipient.
When something doesn't happen in our life, where do we look for answers? Do we look for answers in things we don't control, in which case we will end up blaming someone or something else. Or should we look for answers within? In fact, that is the whole journey of awakening, that we look within for all our answers. When we do this, chances are that we realize somewhere we are responsible for the issues we face.

Is it in our control or not? Karma is something which is in our control and destiny is something which is not in our control. One of the best line I heard from Swamiji.

Swami ji, Is death really predestined? I have lost my father recently and i am living in the guilt somehow it has happend due to my negligence. Could it have been postponed by few days or hours by our action and doctors's efforts?

I read your book The Science of Mantras (not all of it; I skipped the Sadhanas which you gave to those who don't have a Guru) It was fun reading it, but I was hoping to read more your experiences, because I think that would help seekers more about how the spiritual world is. I don't really like to read books that much because at the moment, my focus and concentration is low due to my mindset which I'm trying hard to change, or at least that's what I'm trying to tell myself. Anyway, there's this book called The Reminiscences of a Seeker (I hope I spelt it right) in it, the author tells us all major and minor experiences he got in his journey of finding a Guru and doing his Sadhanas (I'm not going to spoil anything) I loved that book so much that I finished it in 2 to 3 days, and I don't have any reading experience - the reason I loved it was because it was simple, to the point, and suspenseful. I would request OM Swami to think about writing a book of your experiences, both major and minor, good and bad of your journey until now as a Sadhak as well as a Guru (your students experiences in short) - that would be a worth read for sure. Just a suggestion. Good day to you. :)
