Is It Doubled Die Or Strike Doubling? How To ID Doubled Dies Versus MD.
In this video I talk about doubled dies, how they're created and when as well as an example die. Also how to tell the difference between doubled die and strike doubled coins. I also do some sketches and show you some images to learn what they look like.

Thank you for the visuals. I'm new to this idea of coin collecting and since in6 a visual learner your videos are most helpful. The use of pointer adds even more interest to keep coming back to your videos. It took me about a month to comprehend the small date large date varieties for the 82's because other videos verbally described the destinction as curve on the 2 or the line going straight down to the base so my mind was visualized the base being the base of the coin, not the base of the 2 and was about to give up and throw the idea of coin collecting out the window. So on behalf of us visuals-thank you very much! I get inspired watching your channel.

This patient easy manner detailed, methodical and thorough way of teaching shows his passion for coins whether collecting or searching or for some marketing their finds to make his presentations the best on you tube in my opinion. You probably had the well known machine doubled die 1955. It’s commonly known as the “poor man’s 1955 doubled die”. The crazy expensive ones were given out as change in cigarette vending machines. A pack of cigs cost $0.23 in 1955. People put in a $0.25 coin and a pack of cigarettes came out with 2 pennys taped to it as change. The famous 1955 Doubled Die Lincoln Cent was distributed that way.
