I wanted to see how much of Mario Odyssey was possible when playing as 2D Mario through the 3D stages! It proved super difficult, and we definitely had to turn 3D a couple times, but how many exactly?

Great Video, but I have a kinda painful idea. Couldn't you technically CRC get to metro early, saving all the night metro captures by just using one??

When doing a 3D switch you only get a couple seconds of 3D, not giving you enough time to perform a CRC sadly

If there was no time limit for the 3D switch you could technically do the entire run with just one switch.

For day metro I think one of the musicians is in the same corner as the seed pot in the jump rope square? So you might be able to nudge the seed over and in one switch throw the seed in and then talk to the musician!

Mod idea: cappy has physics like a frisbee, instead of returning to you after he gets thrown, you have to bounce off cappy and you can charge the cap throw

Hi Amethyst, I just played through Sand Kingdom's Story using the Mod, and entering the Knucklotec Bossfight crashes the game. Also, the Bullet Bills couldn't recognize 2D Mario so they just kept flying straightforward (and into certain Objects), making the time window for capturing them really tight as a 3D Switch is required to get the Bullet bills near Mario AND capture them.

Instead of taking all those switches in night metro, could you just take one switch to CRC to day metro? You'd still have to find a way in day metro to get more moons with less switches though. Edit: Oh, are the switches just for a second or so? So there wouldn't be time for a CRC by the definition of a switch in this mod...

it was to avoid crashes during certain animations since 2D mario doesn't have the same animations as 3D Mario :D

you could do cascade with only one or two switches in 2 player mode you can actually get up to that island by jumping close and letting cappy go off mario with the second controller and touch the flag and else you can i think just get 4 others normally except for one where you have to clip trough the floor idk if thats possible in 2d
