What it looks like to me is 3 barriers. 2 soft barriers and one hard barrier. The first soft one is the intended boundary of the game, the second is a backup boundary that forms a perfect square around the map, and the 3rd is the actual edge of the game as a whole. If I'm correct, it is actually impossible to go behind the 3rd barrier unless you code in a place beyond the 3rd barrier.

If TotK works similarly to BotW, the second barrier is called an air wall and will constantly push you away unlike the first barrier which was simply an invisible wall like many others. Also, if you get passed an air wall, there's no collision on the ground or water so you will fall and sink forever. Though, this information comes from BotW so it might not be exactly how it works in TotK...

If I ever create a video game, I’m going to put the single most difficult secret boss out of bounds, just for the people that want to go through the trouble to investigate that speck in the distance. Defeating the boss with give the player the single most broken, over powered item in the game, and I’m going to somehow figure out how to make it canon to the story.

The reason Link always ends up questing his way out of the country is because it's way more fun and less stressful than dealing with the issues of potential harem members add to that the pay, the cool magic and items as well as the health benefits from Pieces of Heart, and stamina increases one has to wonder why any hero would settle down. Then we remember that Link has to endlessly save the world and all the stuff he goes through and Wonder if it's actually worth it.

I noticed a boundary in the game that isn't even a barrier in Tears of the Kingdom it looks possible to reach with enough stamina there's a reason you can get a lot of stamina in the game a lot of rumors had it in Breath of the Wild in these fields you would spawn a UFO type boss which is kind of strange how Nintendo took it out of the game. It seems like they were gonna do it in Tears of the Kingdom as well did the aliens really engineer Hyrule wouldn't it kind of make sense seeing how the shrine and guardian technology is almost alien?

Fun fact, you can actually make a pin in the air if you put it on a divine beast, then the divine beast moves away, your pin will be in the air. Also, you can see Vah Medoh and Vah Rudania from the great plateau. Maybe naboris, and probably not ruta.

you know as a zelda junkie, I"m more surprised that they made the land actually walkable lol. seeing how that means devs KNEW that people would at least TRY to go past the barrier but still there are repercussions like wind blowing you back, very cold winds, having to use important items etc. honestly I know obviously the game and all other zelda games are always focused around Hyrule but there was that always thing in mind that I'd love is to see a Zelda game that goes BEYOND hyrule. You're always almost always in it besides Majora's Mask, or if you count going into the desert in Twilight Princess "outside o hyrule" but I'd love to see a game where they travel outside of hyrule. like meet other nations and such since even Prince Sidon's wife as she says in the game, she is from another kingdom/zora tribe. which we never get to see, meaning outside of Hyrule. so I'd love it if Link would travel outside since I don't think (correct me if I'm wrong though since I've been wrong before lol. since zelda lore is kind of all over the place) That most of the time Link doesn't really marry zelda. Sure I'll admit maybe in some games it may seem like he has but then there are those rumors of him being with Romani (which I REALLLY FREAKING WISH THEY PUT IN BOTW AND TOTK seeing how it's a RANCH. I'd love to see Melon or Romani in the game in higher quality where she's just her simple farm girl singing her song, and not just Kass or some stables just having it in the background.....especially since they had the oppertunity in literally in Henato Village with their literal ranch...I can't tell you how upset I am that they didn't do a reference or a thing to Lon Lon Ranch or Romani ranch.....she needs more love man lol) But him being with her etc seeing how every King of Hyrule isn't Link nor is it stated anywhere that he was ever THE king of hyrule. That it seemed like almost like with Sidon that you pair with another royal blood outside of Hyrule or at least in another kingdom. That you have to go outside of Hyrule to find a prince worthy of Zelda's hand and will be the perfect match for her. I mean in a sense it does make sense, seeing how Zelda is hylia reborn, etc, that she's the princess, and he's just the appointed Knight that makes sure the princess is always safe, even as friends. But never to the point of marriage (even if hinted at, at first, in Skyward Sword that, that Link had seemingly feelings for her.. And for all we know every Link COULD but can't due to those circumstances because he needs to have royal blood as it seems to rule a kingdom. That owning the master sword or even the triforce of courage isn't really qualifications. that it seems that they all take the name Daphnes, so they either take Zelda's last name, or she must marry a man with that last name that holds the royal blood line. Not sure. Never really discussed lol) but it would be great to see a world (besides Majora's Mask lol and I guess yes even WInd Waker Hourglass a spin off the other game being out of Hyrule but mostly made of sea) would love to have him travel outside of Hyrule to carry out that task for a new kingdom. and see new faces etc. and it spawning an enemy was curious.....I wonder if the devs had plans to let people explore but would still die in the process or it being an explorable wasteland with nothing to do anyway. but just decided because upper meaning miyamoto said no to that.
