Kurdish ambitions for independence and their own oil revenue is raising alarm bells in Washington and Baghdad. Tensions are escalating, with both sides threatening violence.
According to US official Jon Cebra, the Kurds welcomed the overthrow of Saddam Hussein as an opportunity to reintegrate into the rest of Iraq. But on the streets of the Kurdish capital, Irbil, no-one s interested in reintegretion. Independence is on its way because Iraq s future is to be divided . The Kurds now have their own government and army and collect their own taxes. But more significantly, they're signing their own oil deals, and it's a very sensitive issue. The Kurdish government is also going to extreme lengths to boost the Kurdish population of Kirkuk, which it hopes will become the new capital. They gave $10,000 to people to come back , states Azadeen. The Kurds were once said to be America's best friends in the Middle East. Now, they wonder whether their independence was ever part of America's plans. There was meant to be a referendum last December on the issue. That vote has now been postponed indefinitely but the issue is not going away. " If the referendum is not implemented, we are afraid that something will happen". states President Massoud Barzani. "What may happen, I can't tell you now. But for sure it will not remain like now ."

-- Who are the kurds? There are nearly 35-40 million kurds in the world, kurds are from aryan, kurdish is in Indo-European languages, most of kurds are muslim but we have non-muslim kurds, kurds founded many state in the past such as the Hurrians, the Medians, the Mervanids, the Hasanwayhids, the Rawadids, the Shaddadids, Saladin Ayyubi was also kurd but today, kurds are the most crowded stateless people in the world, -- Why kurds are stateless? Our lands are controlled by turks since 1049, turks weren't in anatolia even 11th century, turks came anatolia after the battle of kapetron, after the turkic invasion, we could founded some state but they couldn't exist a long time, ottoman empire lost worl war I in 1918, we could found our state like arabs, but our ancestors believed republic of turkey's founder kamal's lies, ottoman empire behaved well to kurds, because our religion are same, but kamal founded a racist system, kurdistan diveded into four by british empire, france and turkey in the treaty of Lausanne, then north kurdistan was given to turkey, South kurdistan was given to ıraq, West kurdistan was given to syria, East kurdistan was given to ıran, south kurdistan won self-government, when syrian civil war started syria forces retreated, then west kurds declared self-government but no side recognize them, west(rojava) kurdistan is under attack by turkey, ısıs, al-nusra and syria also North and east kurds have nothing, even our language and our culture were banned for years, we don't have education with our mother language, there is no enough school and hospital, there is no electricity, there is no water, there is no road in many kurdish villages and town, even many people are illiterate, many kurdish families left kurdish lands and their children forgot kurdish then they assimilated in forein lands -- What is our purpose? we are try to found a democratic republic, we are the most supporter of women's rights in the islamic countries maybe in the world, our women and men militaries are fighting aganist ısıs together, we are respect all religions and all opinions, we saved the non-muslims from ısis, we gave equal rights to non-muslims, we gave non-kurds education with their mother language, on the contrary we don't have enough support to found a free state, we need help

Kurds are ancient people. They have always existed way before most european countries. But the west denies them because they are afraid of thier power. Kurds are descendents of the Medes, they were part of the Persian empire and the west hate that, because they are jealous of our ancient history and potential power.

Over 100 years have passed and Kurds still do not have a homeland of their own. The referendum was a national right, and what happened to Human Right's principles of Democracy and Freedom that they talk about day and night? It was ruined by people who were against and not supportive of this process of democracy. The KRG agreed that the referendum wasn't the right time, but the United State of America said that KRG should postpone it for 2-3 years and then if you do that the U.S would respect the result of the referendum. The KRG said instead of saying "respect" the KRG requested the U.S the right "support" for the result and we will postpone it. The U.S didn't say "support" and they didn't promise the KRG support, and for this reason, the KRG had the absolute reason and right for not being convinced and to postpone it with no promising support from the U.S would do more harm. In fact, many western countries ignored this peaceful process and should be ashamed. With support from western countries, we could create an independent Kurdistan of democracy and stability and it would be a gift to the world to show that Kurds are pro-democratic pro-western, but unfortunately, it seemed difficult for you and you made a mistake for not supporting this new uprising state. The Kurds have nothing to apologize for but to be warmly thanked by the whole world for the role of fighting ISIS, and if it wasn't for the Kurds for helping Iraq liberate Mosul they would have been much more bloodshed. The referendum has and will always be an excuse for Iraq, Iran, Turkey, and Syria for not letting Kurds achieve their dream of Freedom. This is a nation who has fought against terrorist and spilled their own blood for independent KURDISTAN, Iraq treats Kurds bad and cut the "bread" food source for Kurds, that means that Iraq is the biggest enemy to humanity! Kurds are neither Arabs, Turks nor Persians, THEY ARE KURDS!!!!!!! INDEPENDENT KURDISTAN NOW AND FOREVER!!!!!

Podesta is Moloch most of the Syrian population does consider you to be fellow citizens one of my best friends was a Kurd and I didn't give a shit about it a lot of my friends actually, in Syria it wasn't about being a Kurd or not it was about social class It's wrong for rojava to become a sovereign state because Syrian Kurds are respected and are already in the Syrian mixture actors,workers..etc Although I can't deny poor Kurds weren't given their rights but so were poor Arabs! Separation will cause hate towards Kurds from the Arabs and vice versa
@Wrtvrxgvcf55
@Wrtvrxgvcf55 7 жыл бұрын
Gimli the dwarf there is already hate between them. i dont know where you were living, but in syria the kurds didnt even have passports. they also couldnt buy land, and could only sell it to arab. syria was/is a ba'athist regime, aka arab supremacy. i dont doubt you see kurds as your fellow citizen, but the overt majority, as well as your goverent has indisputably engaged in many crimes and atrocities against the kurds. the hate between kurds and arabs has never been higher. creating an own sovereign nation doesnt change it enough to matter. besides, it was only a matter of time. its always just a matter of time. same with iraq.

Podesta is Moloch it won't be in the greater good of both lands independence will only produce more fighting and hate, this is how they divide lands it's crazy how easy they make it look (USA) just tell one group you deserve more than the others,others hate you and so on and soon they'll believe that. Unity is strong

Kurdistan will become independent If this is in america's interest, and it looks like it for now so they are helping the Kurds to have a corridor between Iraq n the med, that way they can build their Qatar gas pipeline to the med to try n stop the EU buying Russian Gas, something the Russians n Turks wont be happy with, best option is an Autonomous region but Baghdad will want to have to final say about the gas pipe so sadly for Kurds this is not likely to happen unless us troops are willing n happy to fight thwe Turks n Russians for the benefit of their globalist masters
