Today we are going to opening up the upgrade MG-36 miter gauge from Harvey.
Is this an upgrade? After opening up, assembling and giving the new miter gauge a review there are two main portions that have been upgraded, one which resolves any hesitation I had about this miter gauge and really makes it an excellent product!
Harvey has provided this MG-36 for my use in the shop. I have had a Harvey 4hp table saw in my shop for over a year now and that is enough time for me to be comfortable to highly recommend this saw and miter gauge to anyone looking for a table saw.

Hey Tyler, I am from Clyde North Carolina and love your channel. I am a full time Law Enforcement Officer and started woodworking about 4 years ago after watching your channel and others on KZfaq. As many others I started with making wooden flags and ended up starting a non-profit with a friend building flags to send to families of fallen First Responders and Military. I bought my table saw, a Delta cheapo from the box store, when I first started and have always wanted a better miter gauge and have struggled with getting good square edges. This miter gauge would be a great addition to my saw and help with more accurate cuts. Thanks for the awesome videos and reviews and thank you for considering me for the gauge.

Here in North Carolina, I’ve had three table saws and zero miter gauges. As I’ve progressed in the art of wood working I’ve found numerous times that I could use a legit miter gauge… but nonetheless here I stand gaugeless… thank you for the continuous content and plans.

I have the mg-36. i had similar issues with it. Harvey gave me some adjustment ideas that did not work. After several attempts working with them, they admitted to an upgrade to the miter guide. They were kind enough to ship me the new miter guide, which you just demonstrated. It made all the difference. The upgraded miter guide can be purchased separately for around 60 dollars.

My table saw is one I inherited from my uncle. It had an upgraded, but small miter fence. He built crazy elaborate clocks. He made a lot of very small and detailed parts and pieces. I am more of a bigger project kind of woodworker. This miter gauge would serve me well.

Great review and it is refreshing to see Harvey take a positive step and approach to resolving an issue that was brought to their attention. Looks like they addressed the main issue most people said to have with the original design by including the MG-36PRO miter gauge rail, though their website still shows the MG-36 with the original rail. All though it original is still a huge upgrade for my saw. Thanks DIYTyler for the opportunity to win this awesome miter gauge. Good luck to all that entry.

I'm still using the Rockwell 9" table saw my dad bought in 1974 and the miter gauge that came with it . He used it to remodel his first home used it to build his second home . He gave it to me in 1990 when my wife and I moved into our first house and I used it for projects ever since . It has taken a lot of upkeep over the years but still cuts smooth and true . The only issue is the cheaply made miter gauge . I would love a better miter gauge ! I have taken it to Texas with me in 2005 and still use to the day !

You do bring things down your level when you’re working on projects. I even have enjoyed replicating a few of your ideas. My table saw definitely is lacking a good mitre gauge. I have begun working on building out a custom office in my home and something like this would truly help.

I have the original miter gauge that came with my saw. I always wanted to upgrade but there are to many to choose from and the prices are all over the place. From New Jersey. Great to see that they do listen and upgrade their products.

Hey Tyler, I love the Harvey setup you have. I’m from New Mexico, USA. I’m still using a Bosch contractor table saw in my 2 car garage, until I can get a larger shop built. And I’m still using the OG miter gauge from the saw. Haven’t wanted to fork out the money on one of these expensive accessories yet, but I love 2nd hand tools. Especially when they’re free! 😂 love watching what you do! Keep it up brother!

I have a Sawstop with the Sliding miter system Harvey has the same system. Sawstop cheapened out on the miter gauge for regular table usage. I also find myself taking the fence off for the sliding system and have been on the fence between Incra and Harvey miter gauges with a look even at Woodpecker. I would be honored to be the recipient of that used Harvey miter gauge. Nice review thanks for the honesty in the first review and the continued honesty in the new gauge to older gauge comparison.

Hey Tyler. I have been following these Harvey product review videos from you and the other guys. I am from Massachusetts. I have a Powermatic contractor tablesaw , great saw for my needs. But recently my 3 year old son was in the garage with me and thought my miter gauge was a frisbee. It actually was a decent tool , however it is totally out of whack now. I have been looking at the Harvey, Kreg and the Rockler crosscut sled as a replacement. Cheers, William

Harvey just impressed me by listening to you on your feedback and actually making the changes from your feedback. Congratulations Harvey for making it better. It would be nice to win this. As a 64 year old it is hard to buy quality tools on a fixed income. I am close to building the kitchen of my wife’s dream and this miter gauge would definitely ensure the parts are square. My Steel City table saw came with a toy miter gauge. I find myself nearly tearing my one remaining strand of hair out trying to get it to stay accurate for more than three cuts. My table saw and my last nerve would love to have a "real" miter gauge for once. Central Illinois.

I'm from Virginia and I purchased a Incra Miter kit around 10 years ago now all the plastic parts are wearing out and looking for a replacement. I see the M36 has no plastic parts to lock in the miter setting.

I could definitely use a good miter gauge, I still have the junk that came with my 20+ year old Craftsman saw back when I purchased it from Sears, not sure of the quality but on the Temu app, they have the miter bars that look very similar to the bars that Harvey uses. I'm in southeastern Kentucky up in the mountains.
