As a newer team and preparing for our UBT2 test in Aug. I genuinely appreciate seeing veteran teams and teams I respect put themselves out there like this. It helps ground me that it's about the learning opportunity, not so much the accolade...although we always want to take a ribbon home. Thanks for sharing. I like what the ABTA is doing.

Thank you. Real and honest is the only way to be for me. Fritz is 4 years old and has found 127 deer, about 53% recovery rate. He was UBT 2 at 7 months old. No excuses for our performance on the seasoned test, we both made mistakes. Remember, it's just a test/evaluation. Some of the best of the best dogs and handlers have trouble with tests, but will find your deer in a hot minute and a few dogs test great, but don't perform well in the field. I always wanted to do this..but i was a 70+ yr old when i first heard of it. Afraid they would be hunting me and my Minidog..lol. in my young years i trained human trackers. I miss dog work!! My Minidog was a chocolate dapple smooth coat. She loved to "hunt" tracks the neighbor kids would lay in the woods.

If you jumped a fawn could it have been MOM who was shot...ok..a human layed track...my mistake. Forgot it was only a test

@@tracker5849 I don’t know, but they did jump that Fawn earlier when they layed the track for me to run.
