Stepback 3 either opens up the lane or possible foul for a 4 pt play. That's why I'm high on Luka. He already has it at 19. Face it, MJ never was a good 3pt shooter. MJ and Kobe were not really stepback 3 shooters and were never efficient with their threes overall. Kobe's peak years had him hovering above 34% from deep. Never shot over 40% for a season. Harden's is a pioneer at mastering this move of the stepback 3 and with efficiency. CP3 is the biggest MJ fan and he's saying this about Harden. It's no disrespect to the GOAT. It's just closer to the truth in this era. Nobody shoots contested midrange jumpers anymore. It's considered a terrible shot in this analytics era we live in. The style of MJ, Kobe, Melo, that's 📼 & 📀. Obsolete style. All beloved for their nostalgia. The Warriors is the NEW AGE of the NBA.

Jason Liao please, if Kobe had 50 free throws per game he’d score over 100. You obviously weren’t old enough to watch Kobe in his time. He regularly went 3 on 1 every night. Not 1-1 like harden
@Jason-or4qy
@Jason-or4qy 5 жыл бұрын
@@shawnsms29 First of all 50 is not 10.2 Free throw attempts per game, second of all, if Harden isn't being doubled, teamed that's the fault of the opponents. I say Kobe's clutch moments and also his many blunders, he never passed when he was trippled every night and missed most of the time. If he just passed more he would have been the greatest as he would free up his teammates from all the double and triple teaming the opponents would put on him. Too bad he refuses to pass
@shawnsms29
@shawnsms29 5 жыл бұрын
Jason Liao refuses? When D Anthony was coaching the lakers Kobe had 10 assists multiple games in a row. And by your logic, Kobe had 3 assists in that 81 point game so I guess it’s 87>82.....this conversation is about greatest scorer in history. So I’m not sure why you’re counting assists. Harden can’t do it all. His midrange is just his step back. He isn’t as explosive as young Kobe, nor does he have the technique of old Kobe.

MJ averaged 33.4 in playoffs over 13 years. In 10 of 13 years, Jordan lead the NBA in playoff scoring per game. Harden has averaged 22.9 in playoffs over 10 years. Harden has never led the NBA in playoff scoring per game. Harden's best year of 31.6 is lower than Jordan's average. MJ's best year in 1986 was 43.7 per game, the all-time NBA playoff record. His 63 points in one playoff game also remains the all-time NBA playoff record. Harden and LeBron are great players but they aren't nearly as good as MJ.

What does he have except flop travel and take advantage of refs stupidity, he can't physically impose himself. He disappears in playoffs because he doesn't get as many calls. Lebron is a career 50% shooter with 27 7 7. KD is just a monster on scoring, KD is unguardable. Harden is 4th offensively in the league right now.

@PanTHundERs harden's average minutes per game for his career is 33.9 minutes ,steph's is 34.4. That's because while harden played less minutes in his first 3 seasons when he became a starter every season he plays 3 4 5 more minutes than steph in each of his last 7... Ok so on average they have both play about 34 min a game and both average exactly 23.3 pts/game So they scored just as much as each others the only difference is harden played fukin 75 more games bcz steph was injured a lot in his career this is y harden scored 1600 more pts!!! While they both average the same number of points but steph is 100 times more efficient that's the difference 52% to 58% effective fg% + less turnovers+he still averages more assists/game than harden(whole career) And steph is clearly the better passer when he wants to be a pass first point guard

He won't get the usual foul baiting calls he gets where he'd lose another 7 pts or so from the freethrow line. And let's not forget about the handcheck. MJ averaged 35 ppg in an era where you can basically control a player's movement with handchecking. 15 ppg isn't bad by all means but he wouldn't be the superstar type player that he is in this era.

Way easier to score now. They changed the rules for more scoring to give more of an offensive show. Players are all capable of playing defence, the rules now a day just don’t allow them to

Thank you Shannon. Keeping it real. Harden couldn't do anything in MJ's era with all the hand-checking and gritty defense.

Let’s just say that I can rely on manu more than I can with harden in the playoffs. Isn’t that sad harden fanboys? I can rely more on a bench player than I can with a league MVP. Give me manu over harden any day of the week.

Yes that’s why LeBron is literally the youngest player to 30k points you make so much sense. And that’s also why LeBron is the only player to average 27 7 7 for their career
