If population is decreasing it should mean that inherited wealth of younger people grows. On the other hand maintaining infrastructure becomes harder so something will need to be reduced. I think it is not all bad.

Japan's population is levelling out to suit the times, in which 50% of current jobs will have been made obsolete within the next 25 years. Japan's population is already bloated at 126 million on an archipelago the size of California which has a population of 40 million. Most of Japan is mountainous, non-arable land. Japan is surrounded by hostile neighbors so in a precarious time of conflict it could easily become isolated and not be able to feed its population. What is needed is not more people but a more sustainable economic model that doesn't require and ever increasing population to sustain it.
