We'll be comparing the cost of living in Japan vs the United States. Are you curious about how much it costs to live in Japan? Is Japan really as expensive as people say? We'll be breaking down the cost of everyday expenses such as housing, transportation, food, and healthcare to give you a better understanding of the cost of living in Japan. We'll also be looking at the differences in lifestyle and how that affects the cost of living.
While there, I discovered that Japan is significantly cheaper in many ways, for example, the transportation system is so efficient that you don't need to own a car, food is cheaper, housing is cheaper, healthcare is cheaper. By the end of this video, you'll have a better understanding of the cost of living in Japan and be able to make an informed decision about whether or not Japan is the right place for you to live or visit.
Note, that Japan is probably not a good place to move if you work in a corporate environment as they do not have much of a work/life balance.

"time to abandon ship America". Yeah. you got that part right. Getting a second passport should be a priority for most freedom loving independent people. You can't even safely use public transport in most American cities.

Just a word of caution: the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Don't try and look for positives and discount the negatives. Yes, vague advice but I feel like there is a pro moving bias coming into the video. Best of luck.

It's definitely time to leave the USA, this place is sinking like the Titanic....I've been to Japan four times and it's bomb. I just have to work out what I will do for work; working in Japan is not the best. That is one thing that America sill has on Japan, although that might be changing fast.

It's legal to pay tipped workers less than minimum wage. Somehow businesses have successfully shifted the burden of paying workers onto customers.

I think the biggest thing that’s cheaper is rent and food depending on where you live. I’ve lived in Japan for close to 3 years in different parts (Okinawa, Shizuoka, Kanagawa, and Chiba) if you can find a place that isn’t a share house and the landlord will let you live there (most of the time a guarantor is needed) then it’ll be a lot cheaper. It’s also crazy how inexpensive the food is almost every where has a lunch set special for instance a ramen shop could have a very large quantity of ramen that comes with a drink and 6 pcs of gyoza for 900 yen.
