Dana will never put Jones in an English card. They don't buy ppv and it will affect the U.S. ppv sales. Jones is the only fighter to do a million ppv buys last year, the company won't risk throwing that away by putting Jones in the England card.

UFC fucked up by letting Jon keep the belt through an injury after they just stripped or had belts given back from like 2-3 different champions because of injury. You think they'd have learned their lesson when they let other guys keep the belt. They either have to screw over Stipe, again, make Tom wait, or allow for two belts to be out there and then unify them at some later date or risk Jon retiring which in theory should make the interim become the unified. It should not be hard for them to strip champions who get injured, but then give them PPV points on their return so the division can move on.

No he didn't. He got injured against Blaydes and had a year out, came back, one fight, boom interim champ. Don't get me wrong, I like Tom, just think he needs to rematch Blaydes before even thinking about Jones.

There is very little interest in the Stipe fight. Every fan Ive talked to in person wants to see the belt get unified. Jon vs Tom in Manchester will bring in more money than the Stipe fight, and frankly the English deserve it for that abysmal event time.

Aspinall is going to defend his interim belt before Jones defends his championship...and we're talking about "what if" Jones fights Aspinall 😂. If Stipe wants to fight Jones, why not fight aspinall and demonstrate you've still got it because as of right now, stipe hasn't won a fight in 4 years. The only reason the UFC didn't offer the interim fight to stipe in the first place was because they knew old man stipe would get floored within 30 seconds.

As much as this is actually THE fight to make at Heavyweight, this rumour is absolute nonsense. There's the Stipe factor you mentioned and all three sides - Dana, Jon and Stipe - said multiple times this is gonna be the next fight. There's another thing: Jones has never fought outside of North America - 3 times in Canada and apart from that only in the US. I just can't imagine that he as the undisputed (!) champ would do that the first time now and fly over to England to meet the interim champ in his backyard. It really seems to make no sense at all. Jones would probably rather do that in the Middle East when there's A LOT of money involved, not to "save" an already good England card that already should have an undisputed champ defending his belt in Leon Edwards... 😃

I want to see stipe v jon but I understand im in the minority. Mma is all about what have you done for me lately no one cares that stipe is the greatest heavyweight. They want the new shiny toy to get the fight first.

So disappointing when it was called off within a few days of the fight. I was waiting for that one... I still believe in Stipe especially if his weight is right about 145-150. Still Hope it happens.. the time off might have been good for Stipe he's still young enough.

I want to see Jon vs Tom just as much as the next guy, but everyone is completely ignoring how Stipe fits into all of this. Dude is the heavyweight GOAT and did nothing to lose the fight. I understand not giving a shit about Jon, but Stipe? Yeah, it wasn't a fight we cared a hell of a lot about before, but we weren't screaming and hollering in unison for Jon to fight one *specific* guy instead, and we weren't *as* disinterested in him vs Stipe at the time, even if we weren't super hype about it. Jon got hurt, Stipe didn't even get offered the IC fight, and now just because of Jon's injury and Tom getting the IC, everyone wants to completely disrespect Stipe. Or, at least, create a situation which would disrespect Stipe. Counting Stipe out way too much, as well. He has KO power, better boxing than Jon, knows how to wrestle. He KOd DC with his hands twice, Jon had to do it with a kick. The only asterisk is his age, and yes, he is notably older than Jon, but that matters less at HW, he's had much more time in the octagon in the past four years than Jon, the Gane fight was so short it barely counts as having fought more recently, Jon still hasn't experienced a real punch from a heavyweight with KO power, and Jon is coming off an injury. There are a lot of factors that could potentially offset the age difference by a good amount. We just have to make it absolutely clear to Jon that his legacy will be better if he were to fight Tom and lose than if he beat Stipe and retired. Spam his Twitter and IG all day every day Edit: typo

Agreed. Haters just want to see Jones fuck up his impeccable record and think Tom has a chance to catch him with a lucky strike. All the ppl screaming for Tom are just jon Jones haters and once he beats Tom they will ignore it and jump on the next guy they think has a chance of getting a lucky strike in. Ppl hate greatness. But mma needs greats, needs record setting runs, and needs legacy's that future generations can strive to beat
