Pele played his first professional game at 15 years old and scored in it. At 17 years old he dominated and won a world cup. By the time he turned 20, he'd scored the same number of goals as Peter Crouch did across a full 20 season career...

Can't compare the likes of Pele. Outstanding player. No question. But the standard of competition coming through as a 17 year old was nothing like now. Nothing. Junior football is so competitive today. And it's international. For example - there was almost ZERO African football back then.

@@vertigo10yearsago25really Pedri at 18 in the euros in 2021 was one of the best players of the tournament English bias rears its ygly head again.the guy ginisged the euros as young player of the tournament having created more chance in the tournament than any midfielder(go check the stats If u don't believe) he created more chance vs Italy and had most progressive passes(risky line breaking passes) yet finished with a 100% pass accuracy in 90 minutes, the is no midfielder who Is as composed and who plays like a mature veteran at 18 like Pedri even Bellingham. U can see when Jude plays that he is young when pedri was 18 he played the composure of a 2010 xavi.

Rooney was better at 18 - arguably Rooney was never as good again as he was at 18, he was a monster. Owen was also incredible at 18 and was scoring for fun. Bellingham is incredible, and looks like he'll have a better career than both, because his technique and skill doesn't depend on physicality and speed.

People have got extremely short memories, especially in Football. The best youngster without a doubt prior to his devastating injuries was Ronaldo Nazario the original Ronaldo. Nobody comes close to him not even Messi.

Scoring in A world cup final has a lot to do with playing for a top country. Haaland has never played a world cup game with Norway, but has better stats as a striker. Don´t conflate team achievement with personal achievement.

Didn't Messi finish in the top 3 for ballon dor for 2006-2007 season and score that Ankara Messi goal beating 6 players from the halfway line at 19, yeah ima sure none of that is true so Bellingham is the best. Those people who say his a mid then go watch Pedri at 18 in the euros winning young player of the tournament finishing the Italy semi with 100%pass completion having more chance than any player in both teams.

But how many people have risen from making their debut in 2nd tier football at 16 , and then in 4 years dominated the Bundesliga and now pulls the strings for Real Madrid winning player of the month in their first 4 games. All forwards. Bellingham is almost as good as them at attacking, but he's also brilliant at defending. I don't think he's the best young footballer ever, but I've never seen a more developed youngster than him. He plays like he's 30 years old. If he can steer clear of injury he'll be the best player this country has ever produced.

He is like Zidane when Zidane was Almost at his prime just as he left Juve to Madrid. He bosses the middle of the park, Tall n Athletic, sets up the play, great ball control and can dribble players, super intelligent he reads the game well, work rate in defence and attack, scores goals and has leadership qualities.

Depends what is meant by best? The beauty regards Bellingham is his allround ability and mentality. Some of the greats like Messi and Maradona can’t defend for toffee, whereas Bellingham is great at tackling and defending. Also the think with Bellingham is he’s improved every single year, he’s still very young but at 20 years of age already amongst the best midfielders in the world, so what will JB be like at 25? Then how good will he be at 30?

You can say Maradona or Ronaldo were better, but firstly, that is not at all bad company to be in! People need to bring up Pele´s world cup to dampen Bellingham´s light. But that was a different kind of football, not to be compared. Maradona was a genius, but also troubled. His head wasn´t focused like a true professional. Also you are comparing strikers (ronaldo,..) with a midfielder who is scoring a lot at the moment. Where was Zidane aged 20? To be a top midfielder, the hardest role, and the best in your new real team is insane. It´s more normal to have a quick forward at 17-18. (Owen, Rooney, Messi, Ronaldo), but where are the world class teenage midfielders? Where was Modric age 20? Not even at spurs, let alone madrid. Kroos? Etc. He has the full package, skill, football brain, intelligence, and physique, that make him, in my opinion, a little bit more special than all the others mentioned. Take Zidane as an example, since people are calling him the new zidane. Well, when zidane was 24, that is 4 whole years older than Bellingham, he was still playing for Bordeaux. He wa 28 or 29 when he became a galactico. Modric? Was still playing at zagreb aged 22, nobody knew him. Still needed to make a name at spurs!

Mbappe didn't win the world Cup France did. Bellingham is a better all round player than mbappe. That's why real invested in him and not mbappe. And I doubt there are many Real Madrid fans now who would trade Bellingham for mbappe. In fact I doubt there's one.

@@seagull8415 not true. I'm a biased gooner that loved Jack and thought he was our future captain. But the consistency and quality that Bellingham has been playing with is something else. He's the most complete midfielder I've ever seen at his age, and his is a position that typically gets much better with age. They aren't players that peak early and he's already excellent. We might literally be looking at one of the greatest midfielders of all time.

A fantastic player but I rate Rooney better at his age, but Bellingham has the potential to better his prime. As of all time players Duncan Edwards, Pele, Best, R9 & Messi, we have to say were better at that age. R9 & Edwards if I'm right both top 3 in the Ballon d'Or at 20? Also at 20 Pele would probably have won it, if he could have.

Don't even need to go that far back to Ronaldo9, Kylian Mpappé in 2018 won the world cup at age 19 and was one of the best players of the tournament and in 2022 was the top scorer.
