My only real issue besides the weapons is that one step in the transformation where you have to flex the plastic. It just gives me anxiety

As someone who his fan favourite beast wars character is rhinox,i actually really liked his kingdom figure,especially the accurate design and the color scheme,and the rhino mod is really unique and feels like a true robotic rhino,just like g1 headstrong,this figure should get a retool into armada rhinox

i saw 3 tigatrons, 1 slag, 3 grindors, a lot of bumblebee soundwaves, a lot of ss86 hot rods, 2 reissue megatrons ,1 reissue optumus primal, hell of a lot of core ravages, hell of a lot of core shockwaves, 2 core soundwaves, and 1 core dracodon.

Outside of maybe some of the quality control bits with his shoulder pins and his back being really hollow, I think the only major issues with the figure is the atrocious color scheme and the inaccurate headsculpt. The engineering despite being complicated is pretty good and leaves for a really good rhino mode and a very accurate silhouette for his robot mode. If they re released this and fixed all of the issues it'd be really great.

Inaccurate headsculpt? People don't seem to know that most of the WFC figures are based directly on the WFC cartoon, not the G1 cartoon.

@@dsharp4763 not the beast wars ones. The beast wars show models are awful and don't look much like the actual characters, but the toys do. Also if rhinox was actually based off of WFC, he would be shiny green and chocolate brown.

@@AwesomeMooseSmile First of all, I don't think you are not making any sense. The show models don't look like the actual characters? Shouldn't the show models supposed to be the actual characters? A toy is only good when it's accurate to the model it is based. In this case, most of the WFC figures are indeed accurate to the WFC cartoon minus some. Correct me if I misunderstood what you said. For another, bringing out color discrepancies is just pointless. We all know Hasbro almost never got the colors right. By your definition, I suppose the entire MPM line isn't based on the Bayverse movies.

@@dsharp4763 it's because WFC is supposed to be based off of the original source material, not WFC. the WFC show was an afterthought, and it most likely took a 3d model of the toys without change and just used those for the shoe. If WFC show accuracy was the only thing that mattered, why do things like ER optimus or starscream exist? Where were characters like hoist or sunstreaker? The beast wars crew are an exception, because the show models are drastically different than the toys. The Dinobot, airazor, and tigatron look WAY more accurate to the beast wars show than kingdom, with the one exception being rhinox where the kingdom show looks more like BW Rhinox than the toy. This is supposedly because it was based off of forged to fight instead of the show, which is ironic because forged to fight rhinox is based off of the generations figure and still looks inaccurate to forged to fight. Also, yeah the color is important, because not only is it inaccurate, it looks like shit and makes the figure unappealing to a lot of people. Just because other figures have this issue doesn't make it okay for rhinox.

On the back leg pieces for Rhino mode, shaving down the plastic a millimeter I found actually makes the transformation a lot easier than flexing that plastic. The base figure though without any modifications is pretty okay though, just cumbersome with transforming it.

Kingdome Dinobot and Kingdome Blackarachnia's head sculpts are identical from the ones in the Beast Wars show. There’s no reason for Rhinox not to have an accurate head sculpt.

Id probably agree with your take on Rhinox's head not supposed to look like the Beast Wars head, if not for the fact that EVERYONE ELSE'S heads looks more like the BW counterparts rather than Kingdom.

I just got the Takara repaint of this Rhinox. It's amazing how much recoloring the figure improves it. He's still a pain to transform, but I'm more willing to put myself through it now. Thrilling 30 Rhinox might still beat him in terms of how he looks in robot mode, but the beast mode head on T-30 haunts my nightmares. Something about the black rhino eyes and having the dislocated jaw of a snake.

You summed up my thoughts so quickly about official figures not going for 100% accuracy. I see so many reviewers and just people in general grading a figure with accuracy being a big part of the rating system and I kinda hate that. A figure could be absolutely perfect in every way except accuracy and that suddenly makes a figure just good and not great.

The best way I've found for the legs in robot mode is to keep the knee bent and that should give you enough clearance to swing the panel round.

Does anyone else hate how they just gave rhinox lips in the Netflix trilogy? In beast wars his mouth was like the entirety of the bottom jaw, rhinox having lips is both silly and uncanny.

I actually do want a T30 Roadbuster, I got a second hand Whirl who had no stickers and no weapons and I'm sure Roadey could share some with his pal, not to mention the spare Autobot sticker as I'd give Roadbuster the Wrecker one. As for this Rhinox...meh, maaaybe if he gets repainted into the Fox Kids grey and red or something like that I'd get it

Am I the only one that doesn’t have problems transforming the lower body/legs? I mean, you have to wiggle-wobble the haunches a little bit when transforming it, and there very little-to-no leeway for clearance as far as options go to align different parts for the transformation, which has to be very exact, but the level of agro so many people get when transforming this thing!😂😂 I mean, yeah sure it was kind frustrating, but I’ve never snapped off a piece. Just saying. Must be a woman thing. 🤷🏻‍♀️😇

on topic of the head sculpt, you said that it wasn't supposed to be accurate to beast wars, but rather the kingdom show. i think the reason why people complained about it not being accurate to the beast wars version is because if you look at the head sculpts of the other kingdom maximals, they're completely accurate to how they looked in beast wars and most of them look almost NOTHING like how they look in the kingdom show. but for some reason, rhinox is the only exception to that design choice. that, and the head just looks generic. it looks like it belongs on that weird 3rd party rhinox figure that came out last year.

I cannot believe they don't break every time I change him. notice he didn't get those little nail breaker panels behind the front legs tabbed all the way in? if I spend 10 minutes on each one I can do it, and being ocd like I am, I can't handle panel gaps lol.

After doing a few runthroughs of the leg transformation I must confess he's grown on me. After all it's a cute rhino and the arm jointage and chest transformation are fun, and while the leg transformation is cumbersome even if you know how to do it there's only one really bad step (the part where the plastic straight up has to flex unless a bunch of hidden joints with more connections than the Albuquerque interchange are lined up to the nanometer) and the rest of it is manageable. I mean I still think it's not a good toy because the instructions suck and no kid is going to have the patience to deal with the leg learning curve nonsense, but I don't have the visceral hatred for it I did when I first attempted to transform it. From a design standpoint the engineering on the legs is impressive, it just needed a few more drafts to iron out the clashing.

I like the figure but my only complaint about him was his weapons! Luckily I know a guy on ebay that had better and show accurate weapons for rhinox . Same thing for cheetor for his gun along with other weapons and upgrades for beast wars kingdom figures

those little flaps on the sides of the chest are THE WORST. I can never seem to get them tabbed in properly when going to rhino mode and it just makes the transformation a right rigmarole.

You should check out Starscream's figure from the Bumblebee movie, if you haven't already. Mine had a few issues and it got in its own way a little bit and the wings were loose. I bought an Acid Storm figure a while after and, having the EXACT same frame, I had the same issue with it getting in its own way, but the wings actually stay put

I think he's pretty good. I love thrilling 30 even with his loose knees. Kingdom rhino boi has a more involved transformation..but to it makes it more satisfying at the end of it.

I don't hate this figure, i just hate the hollow gapes in the back of the figure in robot mode. I was very excited for this figure but when i saw the review of other youtubers,i can see the back which is filled with hollow gapes. Hasbro could like cover that back. Im also still can't find an upgrade kit that can fix the back

It's not bad at all it just has to compete with the thrilling thirty rhinox which is way better in design in both the robot , beast mode and the transformation is more accurate on the thrilling thirty for what Kingdom was going for while the actual Kingdom rhinox looks like it was taken from the earth wars app game and made into a toy but I have to say if you don't have the thrilling thirty rhinox then get the Kingdom rhinox .

would prefer to have the t30 rhinox, but this one is okay. i’ve done the transformation enough times to where im fairly comfortable with it, but the legs are still problematic. mostly i just wish he had the maximal insignia on his head, he feels sort of lacking without them

Whether or not you completely detest this toy is dependent on how tolerant you are for bad transformations. Unfortunately I'm not at all, so to me this thing is one of the worst figures I own. I refuse to believe this figure went through playtesting, because nobody with any semblance of work ethic would let a transformation this horrible out the door. If I was in charge and they playtested this it would either be redesigned to be less the antithesis of fun or scrapped entirely in favor of Polar Claw and Rhinox as a character would be shelved for Legacy, tackled by a more experienced Transformers designer.

Rhinox's chest achieves being wide...but it's not being a fake part that's the problem. It LOOKS fake, which seems counterintuitive. It's wide but it's too flat. The T30 one had the depth and feel of the jaw chest despite being narrower due to actually being the rhino's jaw, but that's incidental to why. So T30's jaw is less accurate but carries the spirit better. Same with the heads. The light green plastic messes with the look, and the "ears" jut out a bit. And he doesn't have the Glasgow grin has. It's not supposed to be 1:1 accurate, but it doesn't capture the feel of Rhinox either. And...the guns... And his two-dimensional width, as flat as the fake jaw, which is kind of a metaphor for this thing, really. It tries to be accurate yet not...and it just falls flat. It's a decent substitute for the T30, but if you already have it, or have the chance to get it for a reasonable price, there's honestly no reason to get this thing. I wouldn't pay for more than $60-70 brand new for him on the 2nd hand market. And if that seems much, that's how much he always was here in my country.

6:15 idk man, the chest kinda looks off to me. To me the thrilling 30 rhinox has the better chest and its not a fake chest. But idk maybe its just me.

He 's my favorite character from beast wars but is a *very* difficult figure. He requires a specific order of operations to give yourself the most clearance to work with. For instance, if you do the legs first, you can move the rhino head down and the sides of his chest come out much easier. Also, the tail can tuck in, which you actually did in a few shots.

I'd say he isn't especially bad, but disappointing. the old one looks SO MUCH better in both modes. this one should have shine on articulation and transformation but it doesn't move in rhino and is very clunky to transform.... not necessarily bad but a downgrade for sure

Nifty video! Thank you! I bought the Generations versions of Rhinox, Rattrap, and Waspinator when they came out, and the Kingdom versions really didn't do anything for me to make me want to buy the newer versions. Glad to see that in Rhinox's case, I can be satisfied with with my decisions.

Looks okay if you never want to go about transforming it it. Bot mode to me feels a lot cleaner than the one before it. Think that one came out about the same time as the Roadbuster shown as I remember getting them both around the same time, and completely being underwhelmed by both. I feel this an easy pass as the previous, as well as the Anniversary release of the original which was also subjectively awful are sitting in the bottom of a storage bin somewhere in the closet.

8:01 "built like a tank" :( honestly i kind of dig this toy. i knew he was going to be super fiddly going in, but i kind of have a feel for the transformation. i do agree that the green is weird, though. i saw a custom job somewhere online where he was painted this darker, metallic green and it looked astounding. i get that maybe metallic plastic might be out of the question, but a general darker green maybe would have been a better choice. if they release a cooler deco of this toy into buzzworthy i might be a bit salty. are there any clear maximal stickers? i want to put some symbols on rhinox's head but toyhax only has silver ones

Missing out on the thrilling 30 rhinox, I knew this figure was going to be my best option in completing my maximal crew. While this figure isnt as accurate as the thrilling 30 version, the modern articulation and sculpting makes it up, and its really a pleasure to manipulate the joints ESPECIALLY the butterfly joints 😫. But I do hope this gets repainted/remolded into predacon rhinox sometime in legacy or gen selects.

Rhinox is mixed with me, like figure wise, he is good and he’s fun to pose, he’s chunkiness is great and has the monkey brain make the good chemicals, but that transformation is really where I have problems, especially nearing the back, no matter how many times I transform it I feel like I’m gonna break it, but he is a good figure

God I am hoping tarantulas and Bw inferno are actually good. I remember hearing from somewhere tarantulas was originally going to be in kingdom but then got pushed back to legacy. If that’s true, how far did they get into the figure? I don’t want it to end up like kingdom waspinator, scorponok, or rhinox. However I have higher hopes for inferno, he is my favorite Bw character. If they somehow fuck him up and dragon Megatron, I am done with hasbro. (I am exaggerating, just hasbro for the love of god don’t fuck it up like you normally do)

I hate the way that you transform the legs from beast mode to roll out mode and one day I was transforming him I was pulling his robot mode shoulders out and then his beast mode head cracked a bit and I actually managed to pull the head off and I can reattach it just really loose

He's a great example of a figure that should be left in a singular mode and left that way. Personally I think he looks amazing in robot mode and okay ish in rhino mode. I'd give him a 6/10 imo hopefully we get a masterpiece Rhinox

Mine is TERRIBLE, to the point where is near impossible to transform the legs. I'll spend 30mins trying and give up half way through. The joints are STIFF AF and there's NOT enough clearance for any of the steps. I REALLY hate this one. The only transformer that I've ever had problems with.

my stores never have any good kingdom figures, theres always paleotrexes and that green core class dinosaur, so when i find major characters i get so hyped, the only kingodm beast wars characters i have were the last on the shelves, rhinox was a special case because i absolutely love rhinox, this toy is fiddly, has low clearance and those god awful smooth parts, but other than that its a solid figure and as a beast wars fan, i absolutely love it

I really never got the hate for the transformation, ive always found it easy. It has a learning curve and needs to be done specifically but once you get it its easy and doesn’t have all the issues.

I would like to see more 3rd party Beast Wars figures as it's good, just like with all official toys it needs upgrade kits or paint to perfect. Rhinox would be a great first wave figure for a 3rd party to make as most 3rd party figures are Megs and Primal at different trans-metal stages. Rhinox's accessories could include: >Original toy sword. >IDW trident/spear. >Extra weapons like hidden shoulder missiles and a small pistol from the show >Removable horn that becomes a knife when a laser blade effect is attached. >A tool kit with various tools and tech from the franchise. >Maybe a pair of knuckle dusters that read RHI and NOX.

I don’t hate this guy as much as other people do but I feel like it’s a definite downgrade compared the the Thrilling 30 figure; Man I regret losing that thing.

The issue with him is what you said at the start his transformation sucks. But he works as a rhinox he is the worst of kingdom in my personal opinion. Some of this opinion is subjective as I don't enjoy him as a transformer

Hoping to get him on sale at Walmart. The retro beast wars figures went on sale about a month ago but I passed. I would like to get the season 1 team in full. Only missing rinox and air razor. I can see hasbro and takara doing this guy as a masterpiece but to get it to sell add rat trap maybe

Love this figure but he will break almost have to break the legs to transform him the back not much better but love him

Idk..as a collector since G1 days..really tired of the qaulity of a lot of mainline figures especially for the price..don't get me wrong there are some great modern figures.over all a lot of of disappointing figures..hollow cheap feeling..I'd rather have G1 qaulity or CHUG.
