The humility from a 93-time winner with the most Crown Jewel wins in NASCAR history only cements his legacy more as a GOAT. Whether one likes Jeff Gordon or not, you cannot deny that rarely will an all-time great be as humble regarding his peers as he is. Jeff Gordon broke so many records as a driver & remained competitive his whole career. Yet, he passes the GOAT torch to Earnhardt, Johnson & now Larson. Whether, Jeff agrees with this or not, he will always be in that GOAT conversation.

I might be a little biased here; I like Kyle but I’m a lifelong 24 fan. All I’ll say is I used to go to Darlington for years and sat in turn 1. I’ve still yet to see anyone able to attack a set of corners like 1 and 2 at Darlington and keep perfect control like Jeff did. It was remarkable to watch in person. It may have been 2009 when he pulled a crossover on Truex through there that the cameras didn’t catch. Still one of the most badass individual moves I’ve ever seen on a track.

I am so blessed to have been a fan when Gordon came into NASCAR, Pepsi/Busch car I think, he looked like a teenager with funny mustache. Now, 4 Cup championships walk-on HoFer later, he's some VP at Hendrick on an upward trajectory. That's a life well lived right there. Bravo.

I remember when Jeff Gordon was on fox and did a segment with Kyle Larson before the suspension and I thought he will one day drive for Hendrick just based on that fox segment. I can’t find it anywhere online now. It’s still amazing to me Kyle hasn’t gotten more sponsorship. If I was a sponsor and spending mad money I would want the best driver

Hard to compare Jeff and Kyle. It's so different today. It's like comparing Jeff Gordon to Richard Petty. They were in much different situations. Not even close to the same thing. Jeff was a great driver and inherented me as a fan after the death of Dave Allison. Turth... Jeff had a 5 star situation very early in his career. He had talent. He had great team and pit crew. And one of the greatest crew chiefs of all time. And how many of the original rainbow warriors were formerly members of Alan Kulwicki and Davey Allison's team? By the 95 season, he was holding a royal flush. All just had to work the early bugs out.

Jeff is a humble guy, 100% content with his place in Nascar history. Only a few are going to come close to his 93 wins, plate wins, crown jewel wins. The closest is Busch and time is running out for him. Kyle is top of the rock right now. Maybe the best "overall" driver in the world right now but he's gonna have to rack up some more wins and titles before he is up there with Jeff. Afterall wins and titles do mean something.

@nomadman52889 ай бұрын
I'm not saying he's better or not, but there's a lot to consider. It's harder to win now than it was in the 90s. Teams, drivers and cars are all more even. Then there's there's the SMT data sharing across the entire garage that didn't exist which allows for what amounts to a sort of "legalized spying" because the teams and drivers can look at what the faster cars are doing on track, then mimic it. Any advantage a driver finds in the with the inputs gets whiped out, so those advantages do not last very long. In the past if you hit on a setup, it could be used and win for multiple races at a single track and sometimes would even translate to other tracks with some minor adjustments. That's not the case anymore. Last year's set up at a track will be tenths off if tried again because all the other teams and drivers gain with the R&D and the data sharing. One setup also won't translate to another track because the cars are far more sensitive to the characteristics of each track. There's also the fact that all the drivers start when they're under 10 years old, most around 5-8. Jeff sort of started that trend, at least on the stock car side of things. The drivers have far more experience under their belt than in the past. By the time they end up in Cup at 21, something that didn't usually happen until at least 25, they have already raced a full career's worth of races. On top of that, they also have the sim now which allows even more track time, even if it is an approximation. It's close enough that it gives you even more experience. 75 to 100 wins in the past is probably equivalent to 50-65 wins now. It's that much harder to win because there more teams and drivers capable of winning. In the 90s, there were what, 5-7 drivers in the entire field that you could pick at any given time to win a race. Now half the field is that way.

Kyle is only 31 with 23 wins ?? If he races till 45 winning 3 races a year, he could definitely challenge Jeff's win count....

Just regarding to NASCAR only nah Gordon beats Kyle hands down. Jeff was a great points champion if not for the points change he’d have 7 titles. I think also if ray wouldn’t had screwed up and left there’s no telling how many more wins he would’ve had. Besides all that still a great career 4 titles 93 wins. Kyle got a long ways to go.

Being one of the best talents doesnt and hasnt always equated to multiple wins in races, titles, daytona 500s, Coke 600s, plate, road course, short track, flat track and intermediate track dominance. But it did for Jeff Gordon who did it for two decades. Jeff Gordon also had the intangibles to lead his team which is what matters more than talent actually. There are many unspeakable talents that didnt even get to 20 wins let alone 50. Putting it all together is what matters. Kyle Larson will continue to have a great career. But mark my words when i say i do not believe anyone will ever match the dominance that was Jeff Gordons long and successful career. Especially that 1995 to 1998 run. Very dark years for anyone who had any hopes of winning anything 😂😂😂

You obviously don't know much about Jeff Gordon. He literally started off in go karts, quarter midgets, midgets and sprint cars.....before Nascar. Hell, he even jumped in a dirt late model at the Prelude to the Dream and battled for the win.....eventhough he hadn't been on dirt in over 10-15 years. Once he got big-time in Nascar, there were too many risks for him to race other disciplines....and Rick wouldn't allow it. Too much money on the line.
