A comprehensive list of only the "Very Impressive" tools would be awesome. That specific rating has become the gold standard anytime I buy tools.

Suggested tool to test: Snap ring pliers. So many ways they fail to get the ring out or hold it without flinging it into your face, across the shop/yard, or off into a different dimension entirely.

LTT screwdrivers are quite consistent it would appear - often in the top of the pack, not expensive compared to better performing tools, but indeed a bit pricey for many people who doesn't need a screwdriver everyday. They definitely have a great "prosumer" niche nailed down. Thank you, Todd, for carrying out all these tests for us to refer to!

I'm always genuinely impressed by the design focus with the LTT screwdrivers. The backdrag makes them ideal for really fiddly fine threaded fasteners with enough strength to be practical in any reasonable use. If I had to put this much torque on a philips screw I'd probably already have pulled out the drill or an impact driver lol.

As an Engineer I very much appreciate not only the testing, but the recap at the end to allow me to prioritise the aspects that are truly important for my line of work. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for testing all these out. For tool testing, I feel it's important to show all the different categories like this since what a particular user cares about will really depend. For some jobs, back drag is critical. For others jobs it barely matters at all. Similar for if you care about locked position performance. etc

You most likely help millions with choosing the right tools for their job (and budget) and very likely help to prevent work place accidents, not just choosing the best of the bunch. Your channel is just hidden gold dude. Keep it up! :) I bought the normal ltt driver only after watching your video to see if it was worth as i fix and build computer for friends and family often. I have never been happier with a tool and it really saves my hands from cuts and fatigue that happens during.

Would love to see you do some more tests on kitchen appliances and maybe even venture into cleaning products. I know there's plenty of people who already do those sorts of videos, but I enjoy your content and how thorough your tests are!

I absolutely love these videos, and you know why? Because they’re not just tests done with stupid music on-screen with very little commentary, but there’s so much love, soul and joy put into them. I’m visually impaired so the amount of dialog really helps, where other channels might just throw Uber-pretty graphs on-screen and call it a day, don’t bother to paint the back side of the fence, go that extra mile but not this channel. I recommend content like this to friends of mine due to the amazing format, which is just so engaging. Thank you for your great work. Please, never change.

Honestly, at $14 the No Cry is a great value from a back drag perspective being so close to the $70 GearWrench, and the $30 Stahwille with its fairly strong magnet and still fairly low backdrag is a close second in value in my mind, especially if you have your own bits handy and would otherwise be ok with no onboard storage

In the years watching your channel it's been cool watching what started as very solid testing mature into very well-considered and executed objective testing for such a wide range of products and capabilities. Kind of makes my think of this channel as being the Mythbusters of KZfaq - a simple concept ("Project Farm") that has grown into something so much more impressive and informative. "Very Impressive!" 😁

I hope there's a grip test, some of my screwdrivers like this just slips in your hand as the rubber handles aren't stuck to the actual unit very well

Thanks for the test, Todd! I have both the standard size PB Swiss and LTT ratcheting screwdriver; while both are great, I like the PB Swiss more - the bits are much superior in durability (normal use, not near failure), the handle material is MUCH better as it gives more grip rather than the sleek and slippery design of LTT, and it is more ergonomic. You got to give to the Swiss. They make great tools.

Love these reviews and how much information you manage to fit into a relatively short video! One suggestion for future comparisons: you might want to consider aggregating the final scores based on relative performance, not rank, e.g., mapping the worst & best value to 0 and 10 respectively: if the highest weight you can lift with the magnet is 1kg and the lowest is 0, then a screwdriver lifting 750g would get a 7.5/10. This should make your overall ratings more fair in the plenty of cases where you might have a few competitors that all do similarly well in some categories

As always great information and all the work/time is appreciated. I was looking through your vids for some fuel resistant sealant and could not believe there was no video. I watched your RTV vid a while back but it is not the same as sealant designed to be fuel resistant especially when submerged in fuel. Might be a good video for us backyard mechanics. I think one of the most impressive wins for the LTT is the side to side wobble, less than half the slop of the snap-on, which costs more and is from a long established tool maker. Very impressive.

Thank you for the work that you do. I always check to see if you've got a video on an item I'm considering. Would be great to see you test knee pads/kneeling mats. Durability, ability to be supportive (not just a squishy mat that doesn't actually help) ability for pad to stay in place, grip with the ground etc.

Hi Todd, Thanks for unbiased reviews of tools, equipment, and supplies we all use. Please consider testing pump and backpack sprayers. So many of the big box sprayers seem deficient on volume delivery. Let’s find out if that really is the case.

Your test results are very practical and useful especially for people on a (limited) budget; they reflect issues that most of DIYers face especially the ones dealing with self-employment (like farmers, small shop owners, ...). It means a lot to us (the "little people"). I have subscribed to "Consumer's Reports" for over 40 years and their testing is good/accurate but your reviews are more "practical" and you do not hesitate to "call a cat, a cat" i.e. you actually rate/publish (number-wise) your results (something similar to the "Torque Test Channel"). Awesome to see independent testing on these again, thanks for the content! =) The back drag automatically disqualifies the PB Swiss and Milwaukee for me, and the lack of bit storage does the same for the Snap On, so I'd probably go with the LTT. Having gotten used to the very low back drag on my normal one, I'd want similar performance in a stubby as well, it's been oh so useful in situations where I need my other hand to hold things. And I can't remember when I used the locked position, so the poor performance on that category isn't a terrible issue. If you don't need low back drag, that Milwaukee seems like a steal!

Hey Todd, absolutely love your videos! Quick idea for taking out human error at the backdrag test: if you fit a small pipe over the hex-shaft for the part that lays on the middle platform, there will be less inconsistency/more accuracy with overcoming the bumps of the hex-shaft. The positions where you started varied from screwdriver to screwdriver, so the rotational position of the hex-shaft also varied/the horizontal distance to where the sting is attached to the weights. So some seem to have started on one of the 6 bumps, while other seem to have started on one of the flat sides and had to overcome the bump. I hope my attempt at explaining makes sense? I really love your videos and watch every single one! You always seem to find simple and efficient ways to take the human error factor out as much as possible. Kind regards

I'm not so sure about the accuracy of 9:24 here.

Personal preference comes into play heavily on these for me. I actually prefer ones that don't have bit storage in the handle. Usually when I'm using one of these it is with my finger tips in a tight spot. A smaller profile handle suits me better because of that.

Yet another great test! I picked up the Klein Tools ratcheting stubby at a steep discount about a month ago and it has been great. It didn't score well here against the competition but for me, the point of a stubby ratcheting screwdriver is the length, or lack of. So it checks that box in a big way and does everything else moderately well. Some of these other "stubby" drivers look pretty full-sized to me.

As always you do an excellent job testing the stuff that you feature on your channel. I always look forward to seeing your new videos.

I don't know how to explain it, but this channel is the perfect tool review channel. It gets straight to the point, seems non-bias, no unnececary monologues defending brands or poor results on favorites etc. The way the videos are formattet, it gets straight to the point, but still has enough personality and flair to keep both a teenager and grandpa engaged throughout.

I've made multiple purchases following your videos and have always been pleased with the results. Thanks a lot! One suggestion for a video idea would be maybe testing those screwdriver sets designed for small electronics repair. I've had plenty of those have cheap bits that wear out in days, screwdrivers that break with one drop, etc.

Very nice to see the LTT driver doing what it was intended for well. This video helps make the price make sense since the higher ranked ones are also more expensive. The locked position rotation and bit retention were a tad disappointing. Maybe they can fix that up in revisions.

Great video! I’ve been watching these for some time and you have helped with recommending things. A video that I would like to see is testing quick clamps and or the quick adjust screw clamps.

It'd be cool to see on the graph what you consider acceptable values for each/some criteria. For example, with bit retention strength low values are bad but values that are too high are as well, so some form of color coding on the graph to see what you think is the best range would bring those abstract numbers more into context. EDIT: oh, and metric units for those of us that don't speak freedom units :)

I don't like the rotate-to-change-direction feature, though i own a couple. I think i would strongly prefer the mechanism on the NoCry. It seems like that is much easier to use one handed, with less room for confusion about what it means - push towards the screw to screw it in, pull back to screw out. Thanks for the video. Another great video! It would be great to see a revisit to your impact driver video. Both dewalt and Milwaukee have come out with several new drivers since then and it would be interesting to see how they work! I’d be really interested to see how the Milwaukee surge would stand up. I particularly like how it starts to impact much earlier with soft impacts that help keep you from caming out in screws.

Another great video! I agree the back drag in the PB Swiss is quite an issue despite its other strengths. I would go with Snap On. I have the Klein already and am surprised to learn there are much better ratchet stubbies out there.

Suggested video idea: I thought it would be cool to do a throwback/retest video. For example maybe retest the brands of oil to see if manufacturers have changed or upgraded their products or if they’re all the same still. Also testing oil filter brands would be a good few videos.
