Congrats on putting one on the trolling motor, you're gonna love the speed at which you can find fish with it up there, as well as ability to always be ready to cast at fish, vs holding/pointing a pole mount.

Love my livescope but ended up having to upgrade to the 102 on the back instead of the 75.........best thing I guess is that now the wife has the 75 to watch while I get the 102. The longer shes happy the longer I stay on the water ha ha. Great video

You gave me an excellent idea. I try to do the vertical jigging for lake trout here in Colorado. I don’t have a lot of success. I’ve tried every jig known to man without a lot of luck (even the Gulp Alive you just recommended). I haven’t really tried to drop shot which you are doing. I figure I’ll combine the two methods. I’ll have the heavy jig on the bottom and then further up on the swivel I’ll have the drop shot come off. Wish me luck!

It's very cool to watch .. and I can definitely see how it can become hard to pull your eyes away from. But being able to scan/see if you're on fish or not like that? Could pay for itself in a tournament or two. Probably overkill for the very casual angler though.

It's worth it in my book because it provides you situation awareness of what's going on below the surface. Not everyone have intricate knowledge for all fishing spots and fish activities do change somewhat from year to year. Now having this technology doesn't equate to you necessarily catching a lot more fish, simply because sometimes they dont bite even after you've located them. Knowing that they are there at least will let you know if you're doing something wrong with your lure/bait, vs fishing in an empty desert..just my experience using Active Target so far.

Picked up some Catch and Cook from a tackle store while passing through Kenora a couple of weeks ago. Definitely my favourite spot in Northern ON. Just gotta catch something to cook now!

Question for you jay. With the ducer mounted to the transom are you able to flip the transducer to use the other modes such as perspective? Obviously the down view isn’t needed because you are able to still “sharp shoot” below you with forward view but just curious about the perspective view. Say for example someone didn’t have a bird with MSI or another garmin transducer for their side view where the live imaging perspective view would work. Thanks in advance! Really love the content!

The spot lock issue was the reason that I installed mine on a separate pole. Buying a dedicated battery specifically designed for sonars makes the battery use problem go away. I have gotten 12 hours of continuous use from my livescope with a 40 AH battery that is designed to run electronics.

I am from Quebec Canada.The species we fish is the speckled trout, the characteristic of this one is that it is held in less than 30 feet.The main technique to catch it is by trolling with a spoon followed by a hook with a worm. Of course it is quite rare with my Humminbird Mega Live G2N Si to distinguish these specimens even with the traditional sounder because as soon as one approaches them the shadow of the boat makes them flee immediately.In these circumstances if I acquire a Garmin GPSMAP 1222 with Panoptix Livescope System Touchscreen Chartplotter an investment of 4310 $ Canadian that can give me a certain advantage in the capture of this trout

I remember a couple 2 3 yrs ago when flashers came to the scene, while on our annual family fishing trip to northern Wisconsin, another guest at the resort had a Lawrence portable flasher. You know, the green box with the tilt up lid, my brother and I were just in ahh! We still caught more fish than he did, guess he really didn't know how to use it. 🤷‍♂️ 😂

Since you use live imaging, there is no real need for 2D sonar anymore? Or even side imaging or down imaging? Debating if I should get mega live or just a sonar with side and down imaging.. I currently have just a helix 7 with GPS and 2d sonar only..

Just a theory but I feel like eventually there are gonna be electronics regulations, it removes some of the gambling part of fishing. For people just looking to fill their freezers, it could be 'abused' pretty easily IMO (no judgment for people who use it obviously if I could afford it I'd buy Livescope in a heartbeat). Finding structure is one thing but knowing if it holds fish, and where they are within a foot is pretty crazy. (incredible but crazy) Would love for someone to prove me otherwise, I'm by no means a professional I could be way off with how powerful these are.

I’ve used live scope for this past season, I’m not sure it’s helped me catch any more fish that 2D sonar and down imaging.. Because now you can see them but you can’t make them bite. it is very interesting to watch walleye behaviour.. when fish stop biting you now realize, they are not necessarily gone.. they just don’t like what you are offering 😀

What is the point of traditional sonar or chirp sonar these days? Everyone knows that livescope is a game changer. Is Chirp just a budget option to livescope these day? Will there be a day when livescope becomes cheaper and replaces chirp? If I don’t own a fishfinder (and I’ve got $2000 lying around) should I just skip over a traditional Sonar unit and go straight to livescope?

I like the vids but your should have just bought the humminbird live, not only is it just as good if not better than Garmin, but then you could have linked that to lakemaster and your trolling motor and also not of had to do all that extra mounting

I have a $100 Garmin striker 4 that I end up not even using most of the time. I couldn't even imagine fishing with 2+ big screens in your face all the time. But I would probably be a hell of a lot more successful.

Just let the man fish the way he wants to 🙄 he's an excellent fisherman with or without livescope. Matter of fact, I've never seen or heard him say he NEEDS livescope to fish. If you don't like him, feel free to leave ✌🏼 he's got lots of loyal fans that enjoy his videos no matter what!
