Many reasons not to start: natural faces tend to age better...hence why many men look better at older ages and they no longer have acne. Women who werent reliant on makeup at younger ages are stunning when they get older.

Even I don't wear makeup as it really effects the skin, my mom says it's better to stay natural than applying some sort of chemicals on your face....... Btw I'm the same like you, I'm too lazy for the makeup, it just makes me yawn how girls spend hours just for makeup 😅😂 (Don't come at me, just my opinion :))

The information is out there, most makeup, high end or drugstore, is full of toxic chemicals. There is an environmental organization you can look at that evaluates the ingredients of beauty products and determines how hazardous they are. Environmental Working Group is the name of the company. They have a website! Check it out if you're interested.

I go to school without makeup, it's just my personal preference. but some girls were hardcore judging me and treating me like a lower being. so one day I went to a birthday party with makeup and everyone stared. a couple girls actually told me I was wearing a lot of makeup and made fun of me .so which one is it society??? when we don't wear makeup we're "ugly" and when we do we're "insecure" and "extra". I'm just so fed up.

No one's ever gonna be satisfied except for maybe yourself. I just learned that I'm good to dress like a dork and put on emo-like makeup so long as I feel confident in it and I don't let people bring me down. Only I know what works for me, who I am, and who I want to be. I am not in their control. Keep smiling in their faces so that they know that they're idiots.

Maybe you were really wearing too much. But I don't wear make up, too. And my friends would shove me their liptints saying that I should wear it cuz I look like a corpse. But nah, I'm good with moisturizer, sunscreen and lip balm. I think girls are prettier that way

I often see that people who start wearing makeup can't really stop as they get used to it and think they look awful if they don't wear it.

LittleBlueBoxLPS I recommend tea tree oil on the acne, go to a specialist that knows how to treat acne such as a dermatologist , I don't recommend drug store products cause they usually don't work and tend to dry out the skin a lot, I also recommend natural remedies to help with acne. Some foundations now let your skin breath while treating acne and covering them up as well. Makeup companies saw that they wanted to change the way foundations work, instead of covering up the problem they want to help solve it while hiding it at the same time. Bare minerals is really good. Makeup has changed a lot over the years and it's not as bad as it used to be before, there are vegan and cruelty free cosmetics out there to help the skin. Putting banana oil is really good before applying foundation as well, it's light and helps the skin repair :) hope I helped!

I used to wear makeup all the time, usually concealer and foundation, maybe mascara, and highlighter and lip gloss. But then, I started to realize that I was just covering my insecurities so I wouldn’t have to face them. This year, my skin is 10x better, and even if I put a little bit of makeup on, I wipe it off in the end when I realize I don’t need it to be beautiful. Someone’s probably gonna be sarcastic and shit with a reply, but whatever, just wanted to share my personal experiences with makeup.

Never put people down for wearing makeup, and never put someone down for not wearing makeup. Most girls (or boys too) don't just wear makeup to impress others, they wear it because 1. It makes them happy and 2. It's fun to do. Just because you are some edge lord who wants to put others down for their decision, it doesn't make you any better if a person.

Julieta Gibert that is from watching my cousin's do their makeup. They usually take 1 hour and a half or up to two hours. That might just be because they're really slow idk but I was stating the maximum time of course I know that it doesn't necessarily take everyone this long to do their makeup. But either way for me sleep is precious I'd rather use that twenty minutes in bed than doing my makeup but that's just my personal preference. And I know that for some makeup is actually really fun etc but for others they just use this excuse to hide the fact that they are insecure which isn't doing any good for them as they aren't really addressing and trying to fix the actual problem which is their self-esteem

I have had acne for almost seven years and have a lot of scars I don't think there's anything wrong with getting a self confidence boost as long as you don't depend in it every time you go outside your house to feel pretty. I wear makeup for me not for men or women I couldn't care less what people think

The way I view makeup is the way I view piercings, most times people have it on is because they think it looks cool. Plus like with piercings, makeup doesn't affect anyone but the wearer so why are you getting your panties in a twist over it? I switch between wearing makeup and not wearing makeup and I can tell you when I do my makeup it is VERY rarely for another human being, it's mostly because I had some free time and I think it looks cool to have red lips and gold eyelids.

That's because people who don't use makeup for long periods of time, have longer periods of testing the best routine for their skin care.(allowing for clogged up pores to become used to real air) They're skin is flawless because they are not blobbing stuff onto it every day, taking it off suddenly will make you look different to people than normal..

Why tho? Stuff that's lab-made can be just as safe or unsafe as chemicals made by plants. There is no reason why natural makeup would automatically be harmless. Which is why their stuff has to go through the same testing and regulation process. Take most essential oils for example. They are often seen as holy grail natural shit but did you ever read warning labels on pure tea tree oil?

Oh heck hon...unless you are truly unfortunate looking, you probably don’t need makeup. Yes it can make a huge difference, but if I were you, I’d save those thousands for cars, hobbies, children, a safe place to live...in the end you realize that good looks are unrewarding and only temporary. Of course, go all in at a special event. :) Go as if you’re partying with your worst enemies. But on a daily basis, too look beautiful, especially on little girls? Really?

I wear makeup because it's hella fun, and you can be creative with it! You can make different looks, and if i want to look sexy and confident, i can just create a sexy makeup look, and if i want to look sweet, i can just create a sweet makeup look. There are no rules to makeup, you can have fun with it the way you like it. No one doesn't need to wear makeup, it's their own choice, but if you want to, remember that you look beautiful with and without makeup! Both genders can have fun and be creative with makeup. People say that it's false advertising, but wtf, we aren't products that wants to get selled! xoxo

Why so many non makeup wearers so bitter? Let people enjoy makeup. It's a community and many people are so nice. If they like ur color of Lipstick, eyeshadow other girls will compliment and it feels great. Me i mainly wear concealer,blush an lip gloss but I can't help but be so shook by how much work these people put to their makeup 😂 it's so pretty.

I've always hated makeup and beauty products even as a kid, because I've always thought that it was just a way to hide your 'ugliness.' I saw it as a type of metaphorical mask that lets you be like the norm, a sexy, beautiful woman/man that is perfect. People should like you for who you are, not a doll. I also just hate the feel of stuff on my face.

+Aayushi Takte Patil I would say both good and bad, with an added neutral side too. Some makeup products benefit the skin, some do nothing for the skin, and some products damage the skin. However I would argue that most of the skin damage people face with makeup is because they're using the wrong products with ingredients they might specifically be sensitive to. Also, ASAP science should have further emphasized that the issue with parabens is HEAVILY inconclusive. There are many studies that contradict each other. Most parabens used in cosmetics are of the same chemical make-up as the parabens naturally occurring in foods/plants that are often used to preserve food as well - but natural doesn't mean safer too.

+Nettle When they say make up is fake, they are just letting you know they dont like fake people. Nobody is trying to stop you from doing what makes you happy. You have the problem here by being oversensative, not them by expressing an opinion. Also, toothpaste doesnt cover up the real you. its meant to clean your teeth and whitening toothpaste is made to make your teeth their naturally white color. Shampoo also doesnt hide or change your hair. It only works with what you have to keep it clean and natural. Nothing fake about it. Creams? Depends on the cream, but the non-make up cream actually just opens the pores of your skin or cleanses it or reduces oils, letting your natural side shine. It doesnt cover up or fake anything. Shaving isnt fake. Hair is natural but so is not having hair. You arent lying about yourself, just cutting off excess hair. make up is fake because it covers up the natural person and trying to make you look a little to very different from your natural self. For example, shaving just shows more of your natural skin, make up covers it up. By the way, most men dont mind a little make up. Its the clown girls that are a turn off. But they can still be clown girls, they just have to accept that less men will like them, and if they are ok with that, then no reason to complain. If they arent ok with that, that is their problem. Nobody should have to like somebody else, and I know the clown girls have preferences in men also.

I have not been wearing makeup my whole life and I've got to say, it feels amazing and here are my reasons why I don't wear makeup: 1. My face sweats because I'm always on my feet and I move around. When I get to school after riding my bike there, my face is sweaty 2. Everytime I would try to put on makeup, some girl at school has to be so negative about it and call me out for it 3. It would just take too much up of my time that I could be doing other things like going on my computer and such 4. Don't want to spend any money that I would need for other things 5. I want to focus on trying to get rid of my acne by washing my face instead of using makeup and my face feels better when I wash it with acne medicine than putting on makeup Honestly, more girls should give it a try because for me, I feel so confident that I'm not hiding anything behind anything on my face. I feel like every girl would have more self confidence if they don't wear makeup everyday and show people that everyone is different

+The Lawrence of Benjamin I don't spend that much money on makeup, since I get most of it from drugstores where the price is astronomically lower than higher end products. If I do buy a high-end product it's only if it's on sale. I've never spent >$30 on a makeup product. I put it on early in the morning, but that's because I have mild insomnia and I find it pointless to try and go back to sleep if I wake up, so I just put on makeup or study or whatever to burn time. Everyone has their own reasons for putting makeup on. Some people find it relaxing, some people feel insecure without it, and some people just like putting it on because it's fun. Just because YOU personally find it stupid or pointless or expensive doesn't mean that everyone should.

I ditched make-up years ago except for really special events. My skin has some acne (thanks for my obsessive picking) but otherwise it’s soft, smooth, hydrated and happy. I do feel self conscious about my acne but I’ve learned to accept it and move on. Drinking lots of water, cutting sugar and junk food, and exercising more has helped a LOT. Plus I wash my face every night. Don’t ever skip washing your face at night - big no-no. Overall, better to have a few blackheads than unhappy skin and an empty wallet. Plus a lot of make-up is created with unethically harvested ingredients such as micah.

Im a girl and Ive never had much a desire to use makeup. I bought concealer thinking it would help boost my confidence (I dont even know what comes first: concealer, foundation, no clue). But I realized that its not only a hassle, but it didnt make me much happier. Hiding my insecurities only made me feel worse. The chemicals were also a concern, given I bought cheap makeup (even if it's from the drug store, pretty sketchy cheap makeup)

+Weeeniee we get that pins and needles feeling when you do't get enough blood circulation. Older people with less circulation often get that feeling in their hands and feet for no apparent reason. Its just when youre older you get less circulation.

Because the circulation to where you get "pins and needles" (which is also called falling asleep) is cut off. This can happen if you sit for too long or are wearing something very tight.

Yes they did. The answer is overall, no. Although historically it has been, and in certain circumstances it might be, but as long as you're paying attention to the science there's no reason to make broad generalizations or buy into woo.

Many people have told me I have clear skin...I don't use makeup at all. Just Vaseline if my lips are dry. I drink lots of water, wash my face everyday, apply a herbal cream if by chance I have a little pimple or something and put cucumber slices on my eyes at night. I know it might sound like I'm just saying this stuff (which we hear everywhere to be good for us!)..But I actually started doing all this a few months back. It works. I encourage you to try these simple steps too! 💜

Informative but I'm a bit irked about the initial remark about makeup = enhancing sexual attractiveness. A lot of women wear makeup to express themselves, experiment and just general have fun doing art on their face. As the meme goes, do ya think I own so many lipsticks to impress a guy who can't tell the difference between Russian red and ruby woo?

+SuperMadumadu Children's face-painting is "expressing yourself" and "doing art on your face". Trying to make it look like you have full, red lips and rosy cheeks by using lipstick and blush is trying to enhance your sexual attractiveness. You're probably not wearing make-up to intentionally look more sexually attractive (more than likely you're wearing it because the woman around you are) but the very history of make-up is centered on trying to make yourself appear more attractive.

But I fail to see how wearing make-up in the same style that everyone else is using, is expressive. Sara H there aren't any legal regulations on whether or not makeup companies can include the "cruelty free" label. So some of the companies are probably lying

I recently stopped wearing makeup 1 because it takes me extra time to apply on my face and 2 I've seen a side to side comparison photo of the damaging things we do to our hair and on the 20 years later photo, it shows that with eyelash/eyebrow cosmetics, we lose our eyelashes and eyebrows.

Ok.. Ok, so I've been hearing and reading a lot of comments online talking about how makeup is "the devil" or "makeup is deceiving" or wait for it I love this one ... "That makeup makes girls feel insecure about themselves and it hides there true beauty and blah blah blah nonsense" so I want to just educate to some of you people the true reason why most girls choose to wear makeup ..OK!.. Makeup is a expression! it's a art ! It's not to impress a man ! Or others. We don't just wake up in the morning and slap on makeup and think.. "Hey! I hope I can get attention and validation from somebody!" NO! Lmao Makeup is like clothing . We shop for the best products and at the end of they day we all have to take them off! Just like makeup! Why do you think some PPL buy expensive and popular clothing brands, get their hair done certain way and buy the newest electronics ?? Hmm.. It's because it makes them feel good! Just like how makeup makes girls and even guys feel good!

So my final thoughts are this ... Before you judge a person who wears makeup just think ... Is this person you? Is this person affecting you physically or personally ? Is this person affecting you life by wearing makeup on THEIR face ??? If not then stfu it's there chose to what they put on their face. If they don't wear make up than that's perfectly fine ! If they do than that's perfectly fine! No one should be able to put someone down because of what they choose to wear, and that's is all I have to say. I needed to get this out my chest because it's getting alittle out of hand and I'm just tired of it to be honest lol. If anyone has a reply to say please be free to respond back but my opinion will stay the same :)

I think people should live with whatever they're comfortable but I don't like make-up, it messes up with my mind and makes me think the person with the makeup is different than the person without it. I can deal with small changes but some people go really far with it.
