Welcome to our new series about the Best Places to Live in Ireland, one of the most frequently asked questions by subscribers.
Although Malahide Castle or rather the cafe next to the castle is the main draw to this small commuter town, it also has an active sea-side community. There's a marina area for boats and related sports, as well as a beach.

I live in Malahide and absolutely love it! maybe it's not for everybody but if you got a family or just love to take long walks by the sea or the woods that surrounds the castle or enjoy the many fantastic restaurants of the village, you're not going to regret this place! on the bad side is really expensive, so if you want to buy a house/apartment you'll gonna need a ridiculous amount of money (I'm just renting XD )

Agreed! We know people love it. Not guiding people away from it, depends on the life stage. As we get a little older, and if the family increases it may start looking attractive to us too and we'll wondering what our younger selves were thinking 😅

I love malahide going there now it’s beautiful love castle and grounds the energy is so peaceful. And people are beautiful 😊

They're not lying about the bees. It's impossible not to notice how common bees are in Malahide compared to other urban/suburban places in Dublin. We should be encouraging the same everywhere.

I just visited Malahide yesterday and plan to move there for good! It is not for young adults I guess. I had a very fast fast life and now I am 45 years old and looking to semi-retire, Malahide definitely gives the relaxed and calm yet safe and comfy lifestyle. It is expensive but its worth it especially having towns like this to be more bio and clean and neat and children can definitely learn from this. Great video guys!

There is a beach portmarnock few mins up the road. It’s a beautiful beach. You have malahide castle. It’s gardens are soo special. Lots of butterflies. The energy in malahide is beautiful. Lovely video 😊

Nice video! Great to see some coverage on my neighbouring town! If you're looking for a town with a more adventureous lifestyle, I would definatly recomend Blessington in Wicklow, It's near all the beautiful Wicklow hiking spots and Poulaphouca resevoir and it has a dublin bus.

Loved malahide castle . Better than Dublin castle inside.

Haven't been inside of either, but Malahide does look like the more impressive one from the outside.

@@WineAndRum Not much inside the Dublin one. The painting of the Talbot children in malahide castle is very interesting (- : I see you guys also walked past the train museum on the bridge. Maybe you guys must also visit Kilkenny. Lots of old buildings there as well.

100% agree with you. Malahide had no character and was my least favourite area I've visited so far. I'm sure it's great for some, but the boring sterility of the place isn't for me.

We wondering if it was just us, but on the second visit that was the vibe we felt. We did enjoy the walk to Portmarnock though.
