In this video, I take a look at the MegaBus long distance option and how it compared to other bus options. I was really surprised at how good the MegaBus option was!
Due to a large rail strike across the UK I was left with next to no options for travel home to Aberdeen having landed into Edinburgh airport early the night before I decided to take the opportunity to take Megabus from Edinbiurgh to aberdeen and give my thoughts on a form of transport that I'm not very knowladgeable on & to be honest haven't used a lot.
Whether you're looking for a budget-friendly bus option or you're looking for an on-the-go option, the MegaBus might be a great option for you. In this video, I'll share with you my experiences on the MegaBus and how it compared to the other travel options. So whether you're looking for a long distance bus ride or a local bus ride, be sure to check out the MegaBus!
If you're looking for an economical way to travel long distance, look no further than MegaBus! In this video, I was surprised to find that the Megabus service is actually a really good way to travel!I travel a lot for work, and I've been using MegaBus for a few months now. I was really surprised at how affordable and convenient the service is. I think it's a great option for people looking for an economical way to travel long distances. If you're looking for a low-cost way to travel, I recommend giving the Megabus service a try! In this video, I'm testing out the MegaBus long distance service and I was pleasantly surprised! I take the bus from Edinburgh to Aberdeen and the ride was great - very comfortable and the staff were friendly and professional. If you're looking for a cheap, comfortable way to travel between Edinburgh and Aberdeen, MegaBus is a good option. The bus journey takes about 8 hours, so be prepared for a long wait if you go on a weekend! But if you're looking for a good value for your money, MegaBus is a great choice - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to other travelers.

I'm like yourself and used trains and planes for transport, never really considered buses but due to the railstrikes I had to use companies like Stagecoach, citylink/megabus and national express. I had zero issues with them and will consider using them again in the future

Ok I’ve always been a train person, but like yourself I’ve been forced to Citylink coaches, to be honest they are utterly superb and now struggle to go back to the trains. Even had to force myself to use the dreaded number 10 Stagecoach bus from Aberdeen to Inverness recently which despite taking over 4 hours was actually quite a pleasant journey. Although these journeys I have done through work it has opened a whole world for me, now wanting to try out the coach from Inverness to Uig on Skye. For information Scottish Citylink and Megabus were recently sold off by Stagecoach and now owned by one company. Flixbus have recently started up in Scotland having been all over most of Europe, they don’t use the main bus stations such as Aberdeen bus station instead using a bus stop on John Street, hopefully they will come to Inverness soon, although Citylink has been utterly superb

I took megabus from Glasgow to Aberdeen (my birth place) this time last year and back. It’s pretty good in my opinion. City link is also very good

Yes, superb video, even more so considering your lack of sleep. Seat looked comfortable, and not cramped, as some buses are. Extra height gave better views for sure. Music and commentary were just right too. Thanks 😊

While a big fan of rail your video does demonstrate the improvements there have been in bus travel. Rail gets huge investment in the UK and the cost of improvement is expensive. It does make you wonder if some of that investment had been directed towards bus infrastructure and connectivity what might have been achieved. Perhaps the coach industry has been lazy and not dealt with the image problem that it has. Part of that is the concept that bus is a cheaper (and therefore less pleasant) alternative to train. Governments are to blame as well. When rural railways were torn up there was only a half hearted, if that, approach to making buses a viable replacement. Perhaps there is an issue with the whole concept of bus stations as well. Stations are useful for connectivity, but how many bus passengers connect from one bus to another? What your video shows is that buses are an alternative although its also easy to find other videos with presenters carefully studying timetables, nervous that their bus is actually going to arrive.

You’ve hit the nail on the head there, to be honest I think it was madness that they cut so many rail lines only to these days be wanting to re open them

Nono mate, you are correct with it being a Megabus service, it’s just most of the coaches are branded for the Citylink network. The M92 is the only proper Megabus service in Scotland (excluding the ones to London) :D

In the Edinburgh Airport there is not sign where the Megabus Stop, and the people that work in the other buses, they have no idea where the Megabus stop is.😢

That’s actually incorrect. Citylink are owned by stagecoach and comfort del gro. Megabus is a brand which stagecoach has sold most of their stake in megabus recently.

@@WorldWide_Dom Yes, I see your point. However, City Link seems a more upmarket service. Sample prices Edinburgh to Aberdeen on 1st Dec are £19.20 (CL) and £12.20 (MB) Perhaps folk looking for the cheaper option might have high expectations, then when they get an actual Megabus they'll be a bit miffed. My wife actually took a Megabus once from Newcastle to London and it broke down. Luckily, our daughter lived quite near to the breakdown point, so she drove over, collected her mum and took her to Heathrow, her end destination. My wife even blamed me for booking the ticket .. but as I recall there were no planes available. Anyway .. regards from Whitley Bay
