Is Minecraft Getting a 4th Dimension?

In the centre of Minecraft Ancient Cities is a strange new 'portal' frame. Will this lead to the game's 4th dimension or does Reinforced Deepslate have some other purpose?

Minecraft has a very abandonned theme throughout the whole game: -Ocean ruins and temples that used to populate the ocean -Nether fortresses in the nether -End cities in the end And now of course the ancient cities in the overworld caves With the exception of villages that are still inhabited (but fairly primitive), there are a lot of structures reminiscent of some older civilisation. Maybe, as a lot of people suggest, this portal is an exit only portal and was some kind of fail point: something destroyed the world when it was built. To me the two mobs that stand out a bot from the game are shulkers and skulks. Could they be the inhabitants of this dimension? Maybe along with other mobs/boss as well. And I've seen a lot of people mention the warden is some sort of guard trying to stop this seemingly dangerous dimension from being opened.

It’s totally possible for it to be an exit portal, because the mob that guards it is named the warden. The ancient cities could be abandoned because of this monster that the warden is trying to contain, and it is hostile to you because it doesn’t want you to let the monster out. Side note: the monster probs has some magic powers that turned the residents of the ancient cities into sculk but also the warden. just my take.

Ofc it could be not just "Netherite: 2" But an fundamentally new set of tools that has some interesting mechanics, but it's still kinda too much. Mojang isn't gonna add tons of random content because it "looks cool and suits vanilla game".Best example: mod "Quark" Pretty minimalistic and at same time cool mod that adds tons of vanilla+ features. But mojang didn't add ANY of these. Seriously, these caves and cliffs updates are boring. Why not bring old cavegen and tweak it?! I think when we light up the portal a humongous warden would come out, thus explaining the oversized portal, in matpats video he describes the scene of music disc 5 as the portal being lit, a wither appearing, and then a louder and deeper than normal warden screaming sound can be heard, So I think that once you light the portal there will be a huge warden slowly coming out and then you having to fight it in some way.

When you listen to the music disc, there's a place where you hear the armored feet of an army(?) seeming to march into or out of the area... Seems to me that the size of the portal is key here. I get the feeling that it was made as such to accommodate an invasion force, either into or out of another dimension. Add in the fortified walls and soldier barracks and it feels like they were trying hard to contain something.

Something that I found while I streamed a few tests with the Ancient city, The warden seems to REALLY like either Reinforced Deepslate, or the center structure itself. Whenever I spawned Wardens, they tended to move towards the center structure when they burrow underground. If they were high enough, they would only burrow inside the deepslate frame.

I came up with an concept idea for the 'Deep Dark Dimension', if there will be one. Maybe the 'Deep Dark Dimension' is a version of your current world where everything has been overtaken by sculk, and the only mobs are the Wardens that trap the souls of the dead in their ribs. Also, maybe the main goal of the dimension is to get to the some center point. Maybe sculk bubbles lead the way to the center, where there is some other final boss. Recovery Compasses should point to the center, too, so they have some added functionality. I think maybe "Otherside" is a nice name for this other dimension, because it's 'another side' to your world.

I've heard some theories that the actual reason as to why the portal is so wide is that it actually served as a portal for some sort of army. This easily could fit into the "ancient society" lore in some way and maybe we will get to find out more about them on this dimension. Maybe, what this new dimension will be is like a graveyard of sorts, where the remnants of an ancient army resides. They could also be alive, but I really doubt it, unless they've gone through some supernatural transformation

There’s a few more points to make that could justify it being a portal to another dimension: 1. If you look at the change logs for the past 3 major updates, there has been a huge overhaul to the way dimensions work, including custom dimensions, and customs world generation 2. Over the past couple years Mojang has hired 2 developers of dimension mods: Cojomax99 who created the Tropicraft mod, and Kingbdogz who created The Aether. From tweets from the devs and dev interviews, Cojomax was responsible for leading the Village and Pillage update. Where’s Kingbdogz is said to be leading the development of Ancient cities. 3. Like you said, In the experimental snapshot the reinforced deepslate was movable, and this was unintentional behaviour. What other reason than for a portal could it be?

My guess would be its a Boss spawner. Since ya know, warden should be someone that protects something. Tho the idea at 5:29 sounds nice, they could make it like something in Metroid Prime 2 with that games "Echo Visor" in the way that you can not (or only very hardly) see anything normal but instead fully see soundwaves and you can see your surrounding with the traveling soundwaves (I guess kinda like Toph from Avatar sees her surroundings). That or just make a whole new Dimension with that gimmick. You could even incorporate @Henkaans comment idea that that would be the Origin dimension of the Skulk. Hell, you could even incorporate all I said so that you need to activate and then kill a boss that comes out of there before you can access the dimension yourself.

There was something on reddit about this. Dimension Hanging from a Bedrock Roof - A dimension unlike the other 3 still following their established patterns With the new structure in the Deep Dark's Ancient Cities that looks a lot like a portal, speculation about a new dimension in the works for a later update has started to ramp up more. It makes sense that Mojang would want to establish a dimension's lore well before adding the actual dimension to the game so as to make the expansion feel natural, and another issue that comes up regarding that is making a new dimension itself feel completely unlike the other ones while still fitting into vanilla. I believe the best way to go about this is to use an already established difference among the current dimensions and expand upon it for a possible new one, and that brings me to the following: a dimension where everything hangs from the ceiling, and there is no ground. Here are my reasons why and ideas regarding it: #1 - Consistency: Every other combination already exists in the game. The Overworld has a bedrock floor with no roof; the Nether has a bedrock floor and roof; and the End has neither a bedrock roof nor floor. A dimension that has a bedrock roof but no floor is able to perfectly contrast with every other dimension's most defining feature in regards to layout while not only staying within but actually completing a defined pattern. #2 - Implications of the Dimension's Structure: With a bedrock roof, it is unlikely to find floating islands, but also without a bedrock floor, that means that everything that does exist in the dimension has to hang from the ceiling. This provides an opportunity for a very unique type of terrain. Be they upside-down mushrooms, trees, or something else entirely, a large stalk hanging from the ceiling, expanding out into large, island-like (upside-down) canopies makes the most sense. These could support their own plants, animals, and possibly even structures. Traversal could be done by by bridging, but one could also build up into the "ground" of the roof and mine place to place. It's a perfect place for rare ores to hide, and it reverses the idea of digging down to mine. Trees etc. would be found on the canopies whilst mining would take place above that in the ground, and movement from high places becomes more attractive than from low ones. The hanging canopies could have large roots supporting them too, making mining unique since an axe would be needed in these cases. Finally, elytra flight would allow the quickest traversal, but it would require the player to decide between flying below the canopies or between them and the roof. The former would be like flying under the End islands while the latter would be like flying in the Nether. #3 - Mobs and why the Deep Dark especially could benefit from this: The game already has mobs that can climb walls, but this could open up mobs that actually spawn on the ceiling and hang down. Projectiles could make them still reach the player too. As for the Deep Dark biome, it seems its main thing is sound over light, and it could be made that instead of just an upside-down sun, there could be absolutely no light at all in this dimension, possibly even with a level darker than our current light level 0 or even using the darkness effect. #4 - Originality: I've seen "Minecraft but everything is upside down" or adding a new biome to the End that just has upside down plants, but I've not seen a single suggestion or mod (and I did search here the best I could) regarding a dimension revolving around traversing hanging islands. New dimensions structured like the old ones have been suggested to death, and this could subvert expectations while still delivering what people want. It seems Mojang tries to always add their own spin to granting community wishes for major additions, so I think this could fit well into that pattern. Here is a crudely drawn interpretation of how it could look (hopefully embedded; I usually use old reddit). I have zero art skills and nothing here is meant to be "exactly how it should be," but I think it makes things easier to visualize: preview.redd.it/a22tiqhz78r81.png?width=835&format=png&auto=webp&s=5c13b01377bd0feb6451db015cc8c6f6387e8840 EDIT: The post is pending approval still, but I went ahead and made a suggestions page on the official site - feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/5261899789325-Dimension-hanging-from-a-bedrock-roof-without-a-bedrock-floor EDIT 2: And IK a lot of suggestions get deleted for no reason, so feel free to suggest something similar yourself too, mainly the whole "dimension with only a bedrock ceiling" thing just so there's a higher chance of the idea ticking whatever boxes they require. here's even more.

I think it's a great idea.. But I would add a bit to that. I mean giant mushroom/tree/whatever canopies are good, but I think there's a need for more variety. I mean there could be entire hills/mountains (of course upside down), perhaps often mostly drilled out with very big caves/caverns, sometimes with inner bodies of water/lava, that then drops down into the void. These hills/mountains also could have their own "ravines", with both sides connected with natural bridges (or the bridges could be part of some structure that generates only in these ravines like some in-wall (abandoned?) villages/fortress). Also there could be stalactites (also sometimes connected by some "bridges") of different shapes and size, some quite wide (enough to have entire structures in them), some jagged to have multiple levels of "floor" on their sides etc. There also could be big upside-down polypore-like mushrooms or whatever on side of these stalactites. Also there could be some structures hanging from the "main" ceiling, something like upside-down end-cities I would say. And there could be some flora that grows not upside down but to the sides (on stalactites walls most likely). The possibilities are just so great... and these alone (what I said and what You said) could already be material to a few biomes in that world. But being a worldbuilder and lore seeker at heart I wonder what would that world actually be? And where would it be? Would it be beneath nether? (Like nether being between that new hanging dimension and overworld - I think that would be interesting... and would make Minecraft a hollow-Earth world) In that case, would it allow even faster traveling (quite logical actually)? Would nether be accessive from that world? So many questions with so many possibilities... It would be really great to see something like that happen. (Also the firs tlink work fine, while Minecraft suggestion one... seems like it was deleted... but - time for little conspiracy theory! - what if the reason is they plan something like that but they don't want people to suspect something like this so don't want such suggestions hanging?)

Honestly, I’m all for the “spirit world” idea, but it could instead function similar to terraria’s hard mode when defeating the wall of flesh. The world would get repopulated with greater threats and a new end goal, to avoid new players from accidentally activating this “portal” or “shrine” it can only be activated after defeating the ender dragon.

I think the spirit world idea works as-is, and it could be really cool! You could basically put the player in a gamemode (or give them an effect) that's the same as survival but you can only be seen/hit by other players in the same mode, and maybe you can only break some kinds of "spirit blocks." I think it would actually have the opposite problems he thought. It wouldn't be very hard to implement, but it might be hard to add new content to because it has to fit in-between and not interfere with the regular world. Also I'm not sure changing the world is very feasible for minecraft. In terraria the world is small enough (mostly because it's 2d) that they can change a lot of things across the entire world, but in minecraft they'd basically have to change the world generation while the game is running, not to mention that it would mess with player's structures and they've said they don't want to do that. The issue they both have is that I don't think either of them feel very "minecrafty" which I almost always think is a bad argument, but in this case it just doesn't seem like a direction the developers would take the game.

It's worth noting that Mojang actually changed the file name of those ambient structures in the ancient cities to exclude the term "portal". The Swift Sneak enchantment would maybe support the theory that there's going to be a new dimension. Got this from another video but there was the idea that the ancient city might work the same as the nether blocks surrounding the ruined portals as in its mimicking / the same as the actual dimension and having a whole dimension where Swift Sneak is as useful as in the ancient city would certainly make it more important to get (although a whole dimension where you have to sneak a lot seems really annoying).

With KingBDogz having come from the modding community, and with the name being exactly the same as the modded dimension, I have a feeling that it may be something like what the original modded Deep Dark was, but iterated/changed in a way that feels original.

A maze of randomly spawning corridors surrounded by nothing but endless skulk, guarded by Wardens that you need to sneak past, and at the heart, is a prison containing some kind of boss monster. To restate something that I recall Mojang saying, there will not be a new dimension UNTIL they feel the other current dimensions are at satisfaction, we have had The Nether Update which covers the Nether, The Caves & Cliffs along with the Aquatic Update has overhauled the OverWorld, which means we still need an update to the End to complete the three current dimensions before we hear of dimension four, thing is though the End is very lack-luster but it was also meant to be kinda empty, so what would an End update add that does not take away from its emptiness.

I am about 80% confident that it's going to be some kind of portal to a combat dimension/challenge. It just makes too much sense not to. Minecraft's loot system is in a dilemma right now for being a somewhat rpg-esque loot system that insists on not being an rpg. Because they can't just keep adding more tiers of combat gear, a lot of the loot they've been recently adding is focused on utility, which they can only keep up for so long. At the same time, Minecraft is sorely lacking any challenges that necessitate upgrading your gear past regular diamond. The "final boss" can be beaten with an iron set, the Wither can be beaten with regular diamond(assuming you don't bedrock-cage it), and raids can be beaten with prot 1 diamond. To add tougher combat challenges to the overworld, however, would also be to go against Minecraft's core design philosophy of player freedom and encouraging players to build and shape the world around them. The solution would be to add an entire new dimension dedicated to combat, effectively fulfilling the purpose of the player making powerful gear while not impinging on the player's build projects.

Here's some of my theories: Mining Station: What if the weird Centerpiece Structure was just a Station for a giant Super Mining Machine? It would make near-perfect sense for the reinforced deepslate, since it can't be moved by pistons. It would help construct a massive flying machine specifically designed to mine large areas of stone and ore. Portal: Assuming the Centerpiece is in fact a brand new Portal, what if it doesn't send you to another dimension or another plane of existence? What if it sends you back in Time? This could be an interesting feature for Minecraft: going back in time to different ages and eras of the past. You could go back in time to the Age of Dinosaurs, Older Versions of Minecraft or even back in time minutes or hours ago in a respective World. You could even back to the time of the infamous *Herobrine.* Okay, maybe not that last one, but it would be a very interesting feature for this Centerpiece thing. Portal 2: If the Centerpiece really is a new Portal and it *doesn't* send you back in time, maybe it can send you to another World. Not a new Dimension, but a World you loaded. That would mean the former Inhabitants of the Ancient City found some some way to travel the Multiverse. If Mojang were to add either of these two Portal Features, that would be some serious Doctor Who craziness right there.

That kind of reminds me of Terraria before and after they added "Hardmode". Maybe it's similar to the Wall of Flesh, but instead of 'killing' the structure, you enter it and it changes your world in some major way - allowing for new/advanced features to be unlockable. Maybe you even have to, say, beat the Ender Dragon, place the egg inside one of these 'gates', then enter it. Advanced bosses or advanced survival mechanics...maybe even harder mobs? All that sort of stuff. It would also make sense if the warden is guarding this "Key" to advance the world.

theory: its probably a portal but, WE dont come to it, it comes to us, thus why its a "warden" to guard whatever is on the other side. Its only hostile towards mobs because the warden thinks WE are that thing, so it starts to attack us, because its not used to hearing sound. The portal was probably built by whatever lived there, maybe villagers, because the warden looks like a sculk infected iron golem, and since its been infected with sculk, it is inable to see, and probably hears things differently too, so it thinks that every sound is the sound of a monster, so it starts to attack it, to protect the area from whatever it is, so that mob cannot access whatever is on the other side, that massacred the city.

This also makes it possible for a new boss mob to be introduced as a part of the final wave, this would make sense as it is theorised that the sculk originated from that portal so therefore there must be more where it came from.

Since this concept was introduced, I've had this inkling of an idea that this is connected to an invasive force. whether or not it's being contained, as you mentioned... that's what I feel from the theme skulk gives off. It spreads. and consumes things around it to sustain itself and spreads further. This is possibly the portal the skulk is coming from. it would be cool if we need to go through there to kill the "source" and "reclaim" the ancient city. but that doesn't seem very Minecraft-like. either way, it's fun to speculate about.

I think the idea that the frame lets out some sort of super-boss when activated might be onto something, especially considering the design of the structure. I've always thought it looked like the face of some sort of creature, with the loop/circle structures on the sides being the eyes and the central portion being the mouth. Also, my guess is it's probably not going to be functional in 1.19 and instead set up features in future updates, but it would make for one heck of an awesome surprise if they went ahead and made it do something like lead to a new dimension in 1.19

I think it's a portal to a new dimension. More specifically, a dimension where the skulk originated from. It kinda looks like the skulk is "leaking" out of the city, which is very similar to how the nether seems to leak out of naturally generated nether portals. There's also a chance that the skulk comes from something instead of somewhere, so maybe the portal leads to a boss. I definitely think it's a portal tho. Will it be added in the Wild update? eh, probably not.

Maybe Skulk comes from the end? The End portal frame shares a similar color of cream to the reinforced Deepslate and the cyan in the Skulk is similar to the cyan on the End Portal as well as ender eye. As such it would make sense that the end could have a new structure relate to the deep dark, similar to how ruined portals spawn in the nether and overworld.

I'm nearly at the end of the video, so I don't know yet if this is already an Idea, but it could be something like the world is crumbling apart, and there is something to do with the portal thing reinforcing the world, before corruption. Another thing could be something like a hidden world of dragons or a creature lie, hiding through a secret gateway ( The portal structure ) but maybe activating the portal could set the world to the past or future, where the city was living and ancient builders exist, or maybe something in the future. There could also be like, as soon as the portal is opened, a MASSIVE, hundred-feet tall monster crawls out of the void as it has been summoned

One of the main pieces of evidence for it being a portal, was the name of some of the structure files. There was (not sure if there still is) a structure file that contained what seems to be a miniature version of the "portal" structure, and the name of the file was essentially "portal_small". Internal file names can't always be relied upon, as intent can change after they were named, but that's one reason the portal idea really caught on early.

Though keep in mind a "door" or opening you can pass through is also a portal. We've become conditioned to think of portals being something that transports us from one place to another, when the reality is a portal is just an opening between two locations. Whether it's the portal going between your bedroom and the hallway, or the portal between this dimension and the next, or the portal that takes you from one side of the ancient city to the other.

I think it might have to do with disk 5. In disk 5 we hear some recognizable sounds, but also hear ones we don't recognize. This might be a boss, like you said that comes out of the portal, and the warden is trying to keep it trapped in there. This would explain why the city is abandoned, and as disk 5 suggests, haunted. There was a monster that got in, the race tried to stop it, sealed it in the structure, but then they all died, and the city became haunted, the souls became skulk blocks. There are 3 souls in the warden and that might be what happened to some of the civilization. The civilization trapped this monster in the portal, and made the warden to guard it and keep it from being opened. The civilization died anyway, most likely from the warden which backfired on them, and the city became haunted with skulk blocks. In order to open the portal a sacrifice will probably be needed either for the souls to activate the portal, because the portal probably needs souls or something, or to show that you are worthy to finally end whatever monster awaits you.

one thing i've noticed -- or, well, friends have pointed out to me -- is that there's some implication that illagers were/are involved in the construction of the ancient cities; you pretty much only see dark oak used in illager structures, and the heavy usage of wool is pretty consistent with illager buildings as well. why is this important? well, bear with me here: in Minecraft Dungeons, there are several things/places that don't show up in modern Minecraft. this is because Dungeons is a _prequel_ to Minecraft proper, taking place many years _before_ it. the illagers are also far more active in Dungeons, and... there is also an evil centipede monster called the Heart of Ender. it's... the wrong color for the ancient cities, it's sort of a pinkish purple, but the _rebirth pit_ it sits in is the same color as the end gateways/portals. i think it's very likely that we could definitely see some kind of gigantic boss monster come through that portal, is what i'm saying, _and_ i think we should probably be squinting at the worldbuilding of Dungeons for more information on how that might happen. illagers in Dungeons are pretty known for messing with things they probably shouldn't, Dungeons is a prequel, _and_ the cities are classified as ancient... it kind of adds up, right?

I at least feel it is more likely that the illagers may have come after whoever constructed the cities because, recall, all the light and wool found throughout the main lower portions of the cities are dark grey and soulfire, whereas where dark oak is present, normal torches are used and thin layers of cyan, blue and light blue carpets are used. These elements differ from the main structure and seem to imply it had become taken over/ is being inspected by the illagers rather than them constructing it.

If you have watched MatPat’s theory videos, you’ll find out the Illagers are always messing with ‘soul-technology’. I've always thought that all the dimensions were layered like a cake, having the end on top, then the over world in the middle, then the nether on the bottom. The nether still has a bedrock layer underneath it, meaning you could still have something there. My hope is that if there is a new dimension, its like a bunch of giant roots or stalagmites (Or stalactite, i can't remember) hanging down from the roof, maybe have a bunch of hanging islands too. While it would likely be possible to reach without going to the end or nether, you would really want something like the elytra before heading there, encouraging you to go after beating the ender dragon. Another theory is that it could be some water themed dimension, we already have earth(Overworld), Fire (nether) Air (End). but no water themed one, although this one is much more of a stretch.
@SherrifOfNottingham
@SherrifOfNottingham 2 жыл бұрын
It's a stretch because the end is more void than air the aether would be closer to an air world and even it wouldn't be perfect, and the overworld _should_ be a combination of all the elements, and the nether is a bit more than just a 'fire' themed world. My assumption is that a new dimension would be a literal deep dark dimension, not exactly like the mod but following the same idea, but if you use the immersive portals mod it makes largely more sense for the deep dark to go between the overworld and the nether, since the nether is supposed to represent "hell" this for the themes could be the "earth" themed world which could ultimately be an extension of the cave generation they've implemented. A "mining" dimension is going to be something a lot of people really would like to have AND it can be a really smart move to make since their new cave generation would make it seem worth exploring past just the resource potential.

I believe it is a portal, but not to a different dimension. It could be a gateway to an entirely different planet that exists in the same dimension as the Minecraft overworld. Or it could possibly take you to different continents on the same Minecraft world that have a different seed and assortment of biomes. Each continent would be like a world within a world where every continent is so large that it is functionally infinite when traveling by conventional means, and the only way to move from continent to continent. That or it could be a way of bridging different Minecraft worlds together so that hub worlds would be a vanilla feature. It’s also possible that the gateway could be a time machine of sorts that allows players to travel to a future and past version of the Minecraft world.

Here's my theory: it's a portal to a new dimension, but not one we can enter. Maybe the technology to power it up has been lost, or (my preference) the dimension is too volatile, alien, and dangerous we physically can't survive there. It's the homeworld of skulk, which in my mind is some kind of hive-intelligence fungal lifeform, and it was able to enter the Overworld when residents of the ancient cities (foolishly) built and opened portals there. They tried entering the new dimension, and either instantly died, or were afflicted by the skulk and brought it back through the portal while fleeing. The subsequent deaths of the explorers allowed the skulk to spread into the city, killing more and more people, and it used their life force to create wardens, who decimated the rest of the city. Now, the skulk just waits underground, isolated from any other life and unable to grow further ...until we start mining.

When I look at the ancient city, I see a formerly majestic city that fell in the past. The portal at the middle seems to be a shrine of some kind based on the candles, the portal itself is similar in appearance to the warden and the skulk seems to be leaking out of it but the soul fire and wither based blocks, makes me think it may involve the nether fortress mobs in some way. There is wool throughout the city similar to the ones you'd find in woodland mansions. This new dimension may include all the advanced mobs in the game, illagers, wither skeletons/blazes, wardens and be an extremely dangerous area you may want to avoid. Since this dimension can be something the other 2 isn't, a challenge, of course they may include additional mobs they had thought of in the past like the blaze lord or worse. A prison dimension if you will, something that requires a warden.

@@Francecaste I think more bosses would be a little too modded for now... If anything, they should be more busy actually polishing the stuff that's been left out. Like the stronghold, fortress, and dungeon, for example.

IMHO, Minecraft should stay Minecraft and not transform into Terraria. There's a reason why some prefer one over another (works both ways)
@Cxy814
@Cxy814 2 жыл бұрын
@@Yorick257 Some people might say that Minecraft and Terraria are basically the same but they are quite different, Minecraft is purely a sandbox game, there is really only one objective and that is to beat the dragon. While in Terraria it is a lot more about progression, and while yes it all comes to beating Moonlord, there is a lot more you need to do before that.

Biggest theory that I agree with is that the "portal" doesnt let the player in, but lets *something* out. The Warden needs to be guarding SOMETHING... maybe guarding the player from ever activating the portal and letting out whatever this ancient civilization sealed away. The way to activate the portal MUST have to do with sacrifice as well, I think.

Here's a theory: Maybe it's some huge speaker? You activate the structure and it produces sound for a certain time, luring EVERY warden in your world to it and distracting them regardless of how long the warden has been spawned for. This allows you to explore the deep dark and lost cities as you please without any threat of the wardens for as long as the structure remains active. My best advice would be for it to be active for a few in-game days to allow for plenty of time. As you walk around maybe you hear a soft humming noise like an AC unit but to the wardens it's the equivelent of a high pitched dog whistle sound. This might be great in multi-player if you coordinate teams of players. One team turns the speaker on while the others pillage and loot.

I had a dream where I was in the deep dark on my Minecraft server, maybe that could work genuinely, in my dream there were multiple caves that connected to the ancient city and that gave me the idea that the reinforced deepslate could reveal a new segment of the cave, possibly by breaking the pillars.

Adding onto this, but maybe to also make it a bit more worth it, perhaps the noise this structure makes could somehow break bedrock with the noise, and thus create certain openings into an extra cave biome beneath the bedrock that could only be accessed via breaking bedrock with this structure.

@@TheEpicGalaxy21 Maybe not bedrock, but I like where your head's at What would be the depth barrier for it anyhow
@TheEpicGalaxy21
@TheEpicGalaxy21 2 жыл бұрын
@@uncletoast7288 True, perhaps instead of bedrock, at certain points, the bedrock barrier has a different type of block that's equally indestructible (so you can't break it normally), but when the structure is activated, these blocks are destroyed creating holes into this extra cave system which has a few new biomes and such, so it's like that 'plane' thing SimplySarc said. This new cave system wouldn't be that deep, it's just like an extra layer, perhaps like, 60 - 100 blocks in height, maybe even domed shaped so it's like a dome around the entrance hole. The blocks don't 'regrow' after the structure is finished emitting noise, so this would be a permanent addition to your world really. Oh, and for funsies, imagine if there's some easter egg you could do with this 'speaker' structure so that when you do a certain thing and activate it, it plays a certain song, that'd be hilarious...

I hope, it's a portal, which, when activated, spawns waves of intruders, raiding the overworld, and if you kill the raid bosses, you get access to their dimension.
