I could only hear Kishore Kumar sing. Although Lata Mangeshkar had most of the verses, the two verses Kishore Kumar sang "Pathar ke haveli ko, sheesho ke gharondo main" his voice, his soulful glorious voice dilutes Lata's voice like lashing waves crashes into the beach. Kishore Kumar, one and only forever. Amongst singers, there's Kishore Kumar, then daylight and then the rest.

Hi Sanjeet. No doubt Kishore is great. But I think you missed the beauty of what Lataji did in this song. She starts at the peak of the mountain (24 sec) on a high note, comes down to the valley with the camera and then turns (modulates "mod") with the river. It is one of the best renditions of the song possible. I am amazed at this rendition from Lataji every time I hear this song. You have to give it a little deeper listen. May be better headphones. Happy listening :-)

The spot of the picture that resonates the essence of the lyric is the is scenic curl of river Jhelum some distance westwards to wards Pok near the verdant slopesof Gulmarg range in Kashmir and in the background of majestic Harmukh range of mountains .The spot as I learnt was chosen by Gulzar many years ago . My favourite spot too. Sad that the most and more beautiful spots of Kashmir have still remained out of the sight of tourists .
