Is Multiversus Good Now?

In a world of Smash Bros Clones, Multiversus attracted both hopeful intrigue and reasonable hesitation. Much like Brawlhalla, Multiversus was marketed as a "Free-To-Play" platform fighting game, and was generally regarded as being one of the better games of its genre, but even still... it wasn't enough for the game to maintain relevancy.
But now, it's back! With new fighters like The Joker, Jason, and Banana Guard... has Multiversus earned its big 2.0 moment? Or is this just another attempt to get some more eyes (and wallets) on the game before it crashes and burns? Let's find out...

imma be real, the game feels slower and more clunky than before the rerelease

Interesting. I didn't play it too often before the rerelease, so I wouldn't know as well as others do. All I can say is that Jake was absolutely broken for a while recently, and it definitely crashes more often on Playstation than it used to.

@@DreamscapeDivided I think they did it to help noob/newer players, so it's a bit slower and easier to react to, but in the end it just means the newer players bad plays leave them open for longer, thus worse players are actually punished more. I think penguinz0 also made a vid on the new release and he seems to have a similar opinion, and he was very active in "beta"

@@philipkoch7570 Okay, interesting. I didn't think about it that way. I was under the impression that they were trying to make the gameplay feel more fluid and sensible (like Smash Ultimate's is), not more balanced for different player skill levels. If that's the case, then yes, that definitely isn't working.

I had more fun playing the beta, I think the UI looks worse now and the perks aren't as cool.

I actually prefer the new UI, but I can understand the perks thing. And I think they do give you options to change the layout of the UI, at least, to make it a little more similar to how it once was. I do miss having all of the characters unlocked for free during the in-between period, though.

The game feels awful to play tbh, I don’t see it succeeding unless they fix how awful and clunky it plays

For me, the clunkiness manifests itself in the form of a subtle slow motion. Your mind can adjust after a while, but it's still not preferable. It's nowhere near as fluid as something like Smash Ultimate (or even Brawlhalla, unfortunately), but I do think that it feels better than Nick All Star Brawl 1 and 2, which we've played on the channel before.
