That is one of the possible polarity, but the other is great humanitarian revolution using the power of that same technology. With great power comes great responsibility, and great meaning. @jacobshoup I guess I think God is static. As in everything, everywhere, and all time is but a single moment of expression. Like the Bible says. "I am the Alpha and the Omega. The beginning and the end". Therefore the way we perceive our lives as individuals moving through linear time is an illusion. And this illusion is becoming more and more unsettling as time passes. We're watching society slowly crumble as our bodies and minds age and crumble as well. We watch evil prevail with each new law, new tax, new political representative. Corruption is the norm and genuine empathy is replaced with a facade and vague platitudes from actors at a podium are accepted as humanitarian action. When goals pursued for a lifetime are almost within reach some force moves the goal post and we only continue through denile. Like Arguna's vision of Krishna in his true form, the entire battlefield is within his gaping maw. We are all being devoured by God at all times. We are Prometheus chained to the rock and our liver is torn out daily. This is our reward for easing the pain of others, for helping each other survive. It is all illusory. We kill to survive and roast the meat upon the fires of Hell while we pretend we aren't meat roasting for another. Entropy is the only guarantee and as the angel said "those who live, shall live against all odds". Yeah I believe God is static and indifferent. Unmoved by our suffering because he only moves through us. He is suffering and the only reprieve is the suffering of another.

Your soul might live on in spiritual form in some afterlife but if there is a "you" in this Metaverse while your body is dead then it's only an AI imposter. Imagine the possibilities though - You think about music and it immediately translates it into a digital version right in your head, no more forgetting the sick melodies and rhythms you just thought of, no more adjusting synths for hours to get them just right, just be like "computer, I want the sound like this" and it does it automatically. This has pros and cons of course, people would forget how to actually do this manually, but it would open the doors for a ton of musicians who had no idea they could be musicians.
