Totally agree with Chunkz here in that Sir Alex won titles with players such as Andersen, Cleverley Rafael etc, important to remember that the same team which won the title in 2012/13 under Sir Alex was e3xactly the same team which finished 7th the next season under Moyes. When Ferguson took over at Man United they had not won the league since 1967 and by the time he left they had won 13 premier league titles making them the dominant team of the Premier League era. When Guardiola took over at Man city it was pretty much the same team which had won the league twice already and had players such as Ageuro, Fernandhino, De Bruyne, Toure , sterling, Silva, Kompany the list goes on. So to say that Guardiola completely revoloutionalised City to the same extent that Sir Alex did with United is a massive overstatement.

The best managers are those who achieve success with very little money, not one who was given a blank cheque.

At all three clubs he's managed, he's had a ready made team, that only needed 2, 3 or 4 players to win titles. He's never had to completely rebuild a team, or win with a squad that wasn't the best in the league. Sir Alex is the indisputable best of all time. Rebuilt Man United multiple times, won titles when United didn't have the best squad in the league. He broke Celtic and Rangers stranglehold of Scottish football with Aberdeen, and helped them win a European trophy against Real Madrid.

I think SAF is still ahead for me because he literally dominated English Foorball for 20 years and took United from being the 4th biggest team in England to the biggest team. His competitors in the 2000s like Chelsea and then later on Man City, spent a lot more than he did. SAF has rebuilt clubs, until Pep does the same he can't be better. I am a Tottenham Fan and have followed Football and supported my team over 30 Years. I remember that Game when we were 3 - 0 up at Half Time, even then us Tottenham Fans were not confident we would even win. It ended 5 - 3 to Man Utd, that is how afraid of them everybody was. I see Man United completely Dominate the Premier League for over a Decade, Alex Ferguson built Teams from scratch. He would bring through Youngsters, buy young Players no one had heard of and made them stars. He bought Players from Abroad that were unknown, then they become house hold names. He didn't have an open Cheque book to do this, it wasn't Chelsea and Man City. This man is without doubt the greatest Manager to ever grace Football, some people seem to forget it wasn't just Man United. He did it with Aberdeen in Scotland, with Celtic and Rangers who dominate up there and still do today. He won 3 Scottish League Titles, Cup Winners Cup, a Scottish League Cup and four Scottish Cups. Then comes to England and does the same with United and dominates, remember United were not winning titles when Alex Ferguson was appointed. He built United and made them what they are today, people say he only won 2 Champions League Trophies. Lets not forget he got United to 4 Finals, it was only because he came up against one of the greatest Teams of all time in Barcelona. Let's not forget Pep has only won 2 Champions Leagues and has managed all the best teams with the most money in each League. I don't care what anyone says, any decent Manager could of won what Pep won with that Barcelona Team, when he left they were still winning loads of stuff. Look at Pochettino and Klopp, they had nowhere near the amount of money Pep has had at City, Poch took Tottenham to a Champions League Final and Klopp has been there twice. This Season was the first time City have got there, they have like two teams with the amount of Players they have. For my there is no doubt in my mind that Pep is the greatest manager. Ill break down exactly why I feel that way. 1. SUCCESS. For those saying Pep has always coached the best sides. Well if you start your career on that kind of trajectory only the best sides will choose you. But take a look back at his record starting with Barca B what he did what that team before he started managing senior teams. He has won titles in every single league he has coached and shattered records long standing records in the process as well. Not to mention taking over the Barca senior team from a winningless season and completely transforming them as the greatest side most would agree that they've seen in this era. So much so that there are documentaries on that team. They literally ushered in the pinnacle of total football. 2. VISIONARY He brought in youth players like Sergio Busquets and promoted them, he has a history of making certain players play in positions they never thought they could play in until HE convinced them after making them see his vision. Perfect example is Mascherano. He played as a defensive midfielder his entire club and national team career until Pep convinced him that he was better suited as a center back to suit the needs of Barcelona. He did the same for David Alaba, making him play in 3 different positions as well. He did the same with Kimmich and a bunch of other players as well. His attention to detail is also unquestionable. He changed how Rahim Sterling trapped the ball because it would take him 1 second more for him to trap the ball with the outside of his foot and release hit with the instep which may seem innocuous to some but a huge difference for Pep. Its these little things that Pep has done with numerous players to improve them. 3. PHILOSOPHY. Often times the media and fans state things like Pep has a certain system that he plays in etc. But that is simply not true. The systems and formations can all be tweaked,, however what never changes is the PHILOSOPHY. Which is how you see the game to be played at its highest potential. Pep has done just that. Throughout his career the anglocentric pundits would question Pep and his philosophy until he finally came to England. Pep knew that football is football, if his Philosophy was the truth it has to hold true under any type of test. He then came and smashed every record in England while remaining true to his style. His defensive blocks were deeper this year and adjustments had to be made but that was due to the fatigue on the players he had after soo many competitions and seasons. Pep still dominates possession and that is the best form of defensive in his belief system and that will never change. The more you have the ball the less chances your opponent has to inflict damage. Its a simple but fundamental truth Pep has always abided by. 4. PLAYER and COACH TESTIMONIALS. Aside from a few players that didnt get along with Pep due to personality conflicts, nobody ever questioned his ability to coach. In the documentary his players said Pep had the ability to call how the game would go and it would pan out exactly like that. That was over 10 years ago. Today I have heard similar things from his players at Manchester City. Read what every player under Pep has said about him at Barca, Bayern and Man City. The man changes the way people think about football and has improved every player he has coached. Look at the market value of players like Rahim Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne, Gundogan, Phil Foden and recently Mahrez under Pep. He has a way of getting the highest potential out of any player. Look at a player like Pedro at Barca. Look at his career under Pep under the 3 pronged attack. Great players like Henry said that Pep made him re-look at how he thought of football. Other coaches like Pirlo stated the same that he emulates his style on what Guardiola's philosophy is. Pep's methodology is now a staple in academies in the modern era. Listen to what his peers think of him from Klopp to Pochettino to Bielsa to Arigo Sacchi etc. They all have stated that Pep is the best coach in the world today 5. COMMITMENT. All of his players have said Pep is football obsessed. He thinks about the game 24/7. He took a 1 year sabbatical just to learn German so that he could communicate with his players better. What other coach would do something like that? He did the same thing when he came to England. His English when he first arrived to now is night and day. He speaks over 5 languages fluently. Pep works just as hard on his craft as he expects his players to do, and thats why his teams are so successful.
