It's a pity that such an important discussion gets only 500 views after more than 2 months of upload.

@@thesupremesupreme it's in the basic structure so i dont think it can be passed . Even if it is Supreme Court wont allow it fortunately or unfortunately.
@thesupremesupreme2 жыл бұрын
@@ayushc5704 No parliamentary system doesn't comes under basic structure it's the fundamental rights and the rights which r mentioned in the preamble and even for the fundamental rights there are exceptions under circumstances.The supreme court only has the power to review if the laws passed by legislature are unconstitutional according to constitution. The supreme court itself revised it's orders . So supreme court is not supreme . Neither constitution when there is anarchy in country . Thailand for instance has changed it's constitution many times and chile now talking about changing even Pakistan changed it even if it's a democratic country slowly it changed to military and you look into myanmar there 2 army even if people want democracy .

How executive will be accountable to legislative when checks n balance are seperated
@akashindoliya4968 Жыл бұрын
Sir, then who will prevent the executive/ president from becoming a tyrant? Who will ensure the accountability of the executive? As we all know that "absolute power corrupts absolutely".

president will be elected individually , which btw already occurs in India but it causes many incompetent MPs to be elected just for the main leader in todays parliamentary system .

In semi presidential systems either the president is powerless as in parliamentary system or more powerful than president in a presidential system.

Are there any cons of a presidential system compared to what we have now in india?
@mrqwerty0055 жыл бұрын
cons as far as I comprehend are 1) In US kind of presidential system executive is not collectively responsible to legislature effecting law making and implementation 2) chances of presidential autocracy is too high 3) Our system is more about fusion of powers than separation of powers

The presidential system is why youve had soo many coups
@antonyandrewson58033 жыл бұрын
@Keshav Yes. I am a foreigner. Too bad we live in a world where what you say is judged by who you are not the quality of what you say. And Pakistan is not the US. The US style system is not just presidential but also unique to the US with its decentralisation, indirect presidential election etc.. and suits US culture. It is an observed fact that every single presidential regime bar two has experienced a coup or an authoritarian slide. All I'm saying is that you've had something close to a presidential system before in your past....didnt work out too well, with the military still have significant political sway in our political affairs. Just trying to copy a system because it works for others doesn't mean it'll work for you just the same.
