Please keep all of these rules and facts in mind:
- No stage builder combos are allowed! Feel free to use any other combo method you please, be it doubles, spirits, or training room item combos. But no stage builder.
-Camera-recorded footage is ABSOLUTELY being accepted! Just try to make the combo visible
- You have to submit your combo through the google forms. If I don’t see it in there by the deadline, I’ll have to ignore it :(
- Only one combo per person for this contest! Every extra combo you submit will completely replace your previous submission. And if you start submitting way too many, I’ll just start ignoring the future submissions too. I wanna give you some leeway, but please try to submit your best one!
- The combo you submit must be made AFTER this announcement! Of course, I can’t necessarily prove whether or not you did follow this rule, but PLEASE follow it.
- If at all possible, please include the entire SET UP of your combo so I can see what your mindset was. I count this as part of the judging - the execution!
- These combos will be judged on creativity, difficulty (to execute), and how true the hits of the combo are (I don’t care about DI, SDI, or tech situations). These won’t be judged through numerical values, but these are the aspects I’m looking for

The Bunny Hood despawn height comes as a result of your character's fallspeed being reduced to its previous value, causing you to have overall less gravity and gain more from your extra jump height.

A couple weeks ago, a friend and I found a strange oversight with the Yellow Devil on Wily's Castle. As we all know, the Yellow Devil will shoot his body parts across the stage. Out of these body parts, three will move directly along the ground. The second one out of these three does not have a hitbox. I tested this in training room, with a variety of characters. The first blob that travels along the ground has a hitbox, and so does the third one. The second one does not. This was not some sort of z axis shenanigans, it went straight through my character. Try it yourself with a crouching Pichu, who's so small that the blob is larger than Pichu, and it goes right through him.

Heres a fact: with the Tanooki Leaf (or Super Leaf), characters like Roy get ears and a tail. However, characters like Jiggs who already have furry ears just get the tail. Definetly useless. Happy Bday!

Useless fact: There is another, more simple, way to soft lock your switch. Make a Time Ruleset with infinite time, and turn pausing off. And the. Have two CPU’s duke it out, and essentially, your switch is soft locked.

When pocketed, power wave will change when used in the air, just like terry’s. Even if the air version is pocketed, it will become the ground version when re-used

@Otacon464 The songs are similar, but not identical. There's nuances and melodic/harmonic changes to the Phantom Hourglass one, so while the tone and general theory is very very similar (and the intro is almost identical), the songs as a whole, quality aside, are quite different

If a player has a high enough percent, they won’t get invincibility from a shield break. In the tips, it says it’s to speed up gameplay and increase tension.

In sudden death, there's no invincibility, but in regular matches it gets shortened by a lot, I don't think while in the air you lose it when in regular match, only until you hit the ground

The positions of the ads are not random, and placed by the creator (or channel manager). Not all ad positions will play; and a creator can carelessly "randomise" the placement, but it will be the same position forever until it's changed.

3:37 quick point, this isn't exclusive to Squad Strike; the copy ability disappears in any mode that includes fighting multiple characters in one go. This was also the case in Smash 4's All-Star Mode

for the lever softlock, you could probably get them out with a frame perfect Zelda FS, or one where the character charges forward for the wind one, a cutscene FS (ridley, k. rool, etc) will remove you from shield break I think

for the lever cannon one, final smashes such as Clouds stop the cannon from being active if you're outside of it, if you're inside the cannon it doesn't fire until the final smash ends

Crouch cancelling is really useful for custom stages which use bumpers as a hazard as it completely cancels the knockback of them making it so you only flinch.

If you put on a shaymin spirit that has been trained in the lightweight dojo, and equip it with 3 lightweight spirits, then it will give you the highest jump height in the game. One of the most polarizing short hop vs full hop scaling is when you are cargo throwing with Donkey Kong. Full hops seem to have a set jump height no matter what spirits you have, and even bunny ears don't do anything, but short hop sends you to the upper blast zone where you can kill with cargo up throw at 0%.

I have a Smash fact; in a normal battle if you get killed by either Corrin's water projectile, Zero Suit Samus' down smash or Ramuh's electrified platforms on the Midgar stage you'll get stunned for a second and then launched off-screen. However for some reason if that happens on the very final blow of the match you'll simply get launched without even going through the stun animation.

As someone who has looked into the files of Smash games before, I think I can answer why Kirby's Copy Ability disappears in Squad Strike. While some of Kirby's Copy Ability data is stored in his own character files (the hat, models related to the move, etc.), at least some of it is also stored in the files of the character he is copying (for example, the voice clips used during a Copy Ability). That means while he is copying his opponent and using his borrowed neutral special, he is essentially reading from the opponent's files for a portion of the move data. Now, we get to why this is relevant. When a character is KO'd in Squad Strike, they are unloaded from memory to make way for the next character in the queue. That means that the game cannot read all of the files necessary for Kirby's Copy Ability to function. In order to presumably prevent the game from crashing, the game decides to remove the Copy Ability. Makes sense, right? This knowledge is based on what I have gleaned from looking at the files of Smash 4; I am assuming that Ultimate works in a similar manner (which I think is a fair assumption). In Smash 4, a similar phenomenon can occur when you copy an opponent's ability in All-Star Mode, and I think the same thing is happening with Squad Strike. Hope this helps!

Can you be hit by a wind box by being held by Metroid or mimiku? Does swirlix stack with witch time or the timer? If incinaroar gets frozen( with shadow or skull kid) will he and his opponent get stuck in his side b until it’s over? Kirby can absorb a huge projectile and spit it out using the a button, so can he absorb really huge projectiles like Lucario’s aura sphere?

I just realized they changed the way Metroids appear when frozen. Here, they turn blue when frozen. However, from Samus's promotional preview, the Metroid was in the iceberg object all other characters are in when frozen. See here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f5-kltmEysvRhqM.html

For the kirby copy abiity thing, I assume it has something to do with how his copy works. In a doubles match, when a character loses their last stock the icon of the player is still there, but in SS, when a stock is lost that character is no longer "in the game" similar thing with his projectiles when they are thrown/held in Isabelle's/Villagers pocket, he loses his ability to make those so they "no longer exist" in the game. it's all pretty interesting.

Luigi’s grab works without moving when in training mode, but if you slow down the game it won’t connect anymore, so if you’re learning grab combos you have to be at full speed or move forward first

Freezing the Metroid is OBVIOUS - a lot of people don’t use items that much to know these “secret” things you can do - I know what all the items do, but even a lot of casual players probably didn’t know about freezing it, very well hidden Easter egg!

For the Kirby losing his copy ability in Squad Strike, I think I have an explanation from my old Brawl modding days. I believe the reason he loses the ability here and not in something like doubles is because the game has to "unload" the character so that they can reload the next one that's being spawned. The game probably removes the copy ability because there isn't anything to really pull from now that the game basically removed the copied character from existence to make way for the new one. This also happens in World of Light when Kirby copies a fighter in the last stage (when the doppelgangers spawn on the vertical climb in the first stage; or in the final phase during the actual fight with Galeem/Darkhon) You can tell when the game "unloads" someone when the percent display at the bottom disappears. In team matches, it stays there (most likely so the game can quickly bring them back in case a share stock occurs)

The clip featuring the bunny hood effect reminds me of all those kills I got using Shulk during Smash 4. Monado arts were able to be deactivated using buffering during a grab, and one of the best setups was the ''Monado Purge'' which involved Shulk buffer deactivating Jump art and using Up throw to get extra height/speed to follow up with a Upair.

If there are two opponents on training mode if kirby does up throw,and you pause and turn it to 1 cpu, and during the animation kirby will fly into the sky like he is using a warp star

If you use Fox's or Falco's up special horizontally into a 45 degree slope, they will be able to instantly act out of it. With falco you can have it true combo into up smash and it's hilarious

If Fixed Damage is turned on, Ryu and Ken's focus attack crumple effect barely lasts for any time at all, but it's still there.

(3:40) Probably because Kirby's copy ability references the player number, and not which the character it is. So as long as the character isn't replaced (like losing all stocks in a normal match), Kriby will keep the ability. - But it does make me wonder how it works in All Star, where characters are replaced. Will Kirby lose it there too? Or is this something odd they added in Squad Strike?

Fun fact: Stamina mode with final smashes, and at least 3 players. As Terry, make player one attack player two. Before the third geyser is sent, kill player two as player three. This makes player one attack literally nothing in the cutscene. I assume this works for every final smash that has a multi-hit type initiator.

you can actually airdodge to get into the infinite canon glitch and release whoever was stuck in it.

The unira is the only item that can interact with Hero's up B. It always launches behind him and depending how long you charge up B the unira distance launched will change It works on and off stage. Results are fun

The metroid thing is actually shown on the website, so a bunch of people tested that out even during E3. So i did know about it, probably wouldn't if they didn't show it to point it out to people. I did get to play Ness, Ice Climbers and Ridley at E3 though.

You can use the weird short hop distance scaling with spirits for a great build: Take an Enhanced Shaymin and train it in the Gravity or Lightweight Style Gym and equip 3 Lightweight support Spirits. Use this team on Donkey Kong, and you can Grab someone, Cargo Throw them, then Short Hop all the way up to the Top Blast Zone and Up Throw for a Kill.

If you take a screw attack spirit, and 3 that increase your jump height, double jump becomes a zero-to-death

IIRC the cannon softlock can be escaped if an opponent uses a final smash (preferably one like Samus's where the duration is longer) causing the cannon to not be interactable for the duration.

When a greninja uses it's final smash it turns into a blue ash-greninja no matter what color you are

The first fact about the Bunny Hood happens because it gives you extra gravity so that total airtime is about the same even though height is different. Therefore, if you jump when it despawns, you get the momentum from the jump, but the gravity reverts to normal, sending you high into the air. I believe this can also be done with Monado Jump art, and probably Acceleratle too.

Joker's knife counts as a sword for spirits. With stage morph, Joker's victory screen will take on the last visited version of Mementos. For example, if you select yellow Mementos and blue omega Mementos and win on the blue one, your victory screen will be blue. If you have a non Mementos stage first and yellow Mementos second, your victory screen will be yellow only after going to Mementos. If you win before you can stage morph to Mementos, your screen will be the default red.

Weird. You'd think the stages where Ink Roller doesn't consume ink would be the Flat Zone stages & GB Dreamland because those places are made of ink & would therefore naturally lubricate the roller.

Kirby’s ability disappears in Squad Strike because the opponent is technically loaded out of the match. This doesn’t happen in Doubles Matches because of Share Stock.

if you use inkling's roller on a stage where you can go through the bottom (wuhu island, skyloft, etc.) it also doesn't ink the ground

another way to softlock is to use kirby's down-B on a slanted surface. If done correctly, kirby will activate the move infinitely.

The Rollout slope trick works in Smash Wii U. The most damage I got was 23% The slope trick does NOT work in Melee. Stages that worked were Yoshi's Island, Temple, Boxing Ring, Kongo Jungle...
