You're so right, Schoodic pennisula is a best kept secret! This was an easy drive from Bar Harbor on a Sept. grey, cool day (but no rain) and so worth it, we practically had the the park to ourselves. We were amazed by the perfectly "round rocks" that had been tumbled from the sea endlessly against the rugged rocky coast, lying there in coves. (Made for beautiful pic's) thank you for yet another great video!

I have to go for a ride on the Cat one day. And, I hope you get to Schoodic soon. It is wicked raw when it's cold out, but the views and air.....magnificent.

I just moved to Hermon. Can you tell me the best way to get to Schoodic? I know there is the ferry but I’d prefer to take a car at least initially. It looks absolutely gorgeous! Also, when we moved, I made sure we ate at many the places you’ve recommended over the years and nothing has disappointed. I think Dysarts is my favorite. Maine is absolutely gorgeous and believe me when I tell you I have never met nicer people. I’ve been here a little over a month and I’m just so impressed. I lived all my life in Nebraska so this is all new to me and I already feel at home.

Hi Nikki, the easiest way to get to Schoodic is to drive down to Ellsworth, take Route One east, and take 186 down and thru Winter Harbor. The huge sign for Schoodic will be on the right as you drive east out of Winter Harbor. Thank-you for the encouragement.

Buoys is pronounced 'boys' to me (I'm English). Hence the word 'buoyant' (boyant) not booey-ant. Yes, the word looks odd, but so does 'gauge', for the same reason.

Interesting. For over 60 years I've heard it pronounced "boo-eey," here in New England.
