I think they change both by 5% - Edit: apparently it's 4% bonus damage and 2% damage reduction

Yep it's the system from sekiro not my favorite choice but I get why they did it. But now future runs of the dlc will be like the main game an hour of running around picking stuff up 😂

The update for the game just edited the curve of how much it gives you. You get more of a buff early on and less later after the tune. The max level still gives the same amount of buff its just more generous at the beginning. @zacharytigert6182

I've been playing through the game again on a fresh run for the DLC after a year and a half hiatus. I don't understand the gripes. The DLC doesn't feel significantly harder than the late game and its bosses in Elden Ring, the base game.

Just completed the dlc and it’s insanely beautiful, fun and difficult. I had a blast fighting. Final boss phase 2 was the only time I felt no hope and it was trying difficult. But I got there in the end and I’ll never forget my first playthrough

i think the problem is with the fragments u basically get scaled to lvl 1 when you enter the dlc and you lvl is kinda irrelevant the only thing that matters are fragments and most ppl doesnt understand/know that yet

"It's brutal" is a good way to put it but after beating all the major bosses, there are some that are a little too overtuned in parts. Emphasis to the "in parts" as in really crappy moves to dodge or react to. The resistances and poise of bosses is JACKED UP too so unless you are on point, you're getting 1 or 2 poise breaks. Cause like you mentioned, I started turning around on the bullshit feeling I had early on because I remembered how it felt 2 yrs ago. Just overcoming this feeling of frustration and lack of fight knowledge. Final boss is uuuh... a different beast of ER design problems but I've yet to beat it so we'll see how I'll feel about it. Also definitely defeat the dragon fighting the other. Senesaxx can sorta be ignored, unless you want Dragon Smithing Stones which all dragons drop along with a heart, but the first group unlocks my favorite NPC summon in the entire DLC which elevates the boss fight you can summon him in only because of the voice performance. Seriously, I think you'll get a good laugh out of it.

After beating the dlc id say there are a few hit box issues but other than that id say it’s mostly a skill issue and that most people just need to get the scadutree fragments and learn the moves. But i agree the scaling is sort of weird with the fragments.

The difficulty is so hard to gauge with this dlc everyone has such a different set of stats from lvls, ng+, summons, builds and now scadutree blessings. I've done 70 deaths on Rellana with 2 scadus to one shooting bale with mimic and Igon for the story and people underestimate how much the scadus help, 2 is 10% damage negation and attack that a 6ft guy vs a 6ft7 guy its a world of difference .

I love the bosses in the dlc.. I always hated how many of the base game bosses runaway half the fight and you need to chase them down for example. The bosses in the dlc actually fight you

Short answer: no, summons exist and they generously spread free smithing stones throughout the map for you to use on the new weapons. But some bosses do have deceivingly large hit boxes and someone like Jori, the elder inquisitor feels like it wasn’t even play tested. Not even a mimic can handle all the big mommas and overwhelming numbers

I think that a lot of the people that say the dlc is too hard say that because they are underleveled, those blessings boost your damage and resistence quite a bit, you can see that in the status tab. Try and look at it while in the dlc and out of it, there is a big difference

I'm about 30% into the game and was really suffering (NG4- LVL 360). Found a perfumer/ madness build yesterday, I'm literally mélting bosses now, it's insane. 😂

theres a lot of busted builds in the base game and the ash summons help a lot the base game is probably the most manageable fromsoft game

You should find a dungeon with a bos named Rakshasa. You get his katana and armor which are dope! Its kinda hidden tho lol

Thank you for saying it as well. I feel like too many people forget just how anally bruising Ringed City was. Ashes was by no means easy... but Ringed city was absolutely the hardest fromsoft dlc I'd played, even compared to Old Hunters. Midir and Gael straight pushed my shit in for HOURS. Actually more so Gael. I'm pretty sure I had close to 600 deaths on just him. And yeah absolutely! The game was definitely hard when you started out, going in completely blind with no one to help you. But then people learned it. And then people made "this is how to break the game and turn on ez mode" guides. And then people stopped complaining about the game being hard. Same thing is gonna happen here.

I have beaten Dark Souls 1 in under 3 hours with a stick. Doesn't mean I didn't have over 1000 deaths in my first playthrough 🙃

scadutree fragments do both. They buff your damage AND buff your defense against attacks

I don’t get the difficulty, this isn’t to brag or put others down but I breezed through it, the final boss was 12 attempts, bayle was 3 attempts, and rellana was also 3

The DLC's difficulty is not so absurdly hard that it cant be done or outside of how hard a Soulsborn DLC should be. My only issue is that we are relegated to basic moves like jump attack or perfectly timed charged R2 with some of the bosses while they get to look cool 95% of the fight. Just try to use Relana's ash of wars during the boss's "hit me now" windows and you will see what I mean. Obviously I do not want bosses to just sit there and take it, but I also do not want to just jump attack them to death.

the dlc is hard but once u get use to it, its easy. i finished my play through in the first 12 hours and finished my second run yesterday and im on playthrough 7

I wouldn't say the difficulty is all that hard. Frankly your take is essentially what I've been thinking the entire time. Fromsoft did a fantastic job recapturing the original feeling of playing elden ring for the first time. The other complaint that I see is that the game world is too linear compared to the base game, but honestly that really isn't true. There are many paths that allow you to bypass some of the legacy dungeons and I remember watching a KZfaq video from yesterday where a dude picked up like five levels of the tree fragments before getting to the first dungeon. Also, because the world is smaller and more compact, the content feels more meaningful. It makes sense that they would design the game this way given that they're trying to tell a more targeted story. I also like that it's kind of difficult to get lost since the level design informs where to go next. My first time playing elden ring, I remember I had to have the map open to figure out where to go next after the first dungeon. The only minor nitpick I have with the DLC is that the tree fragments feel like a boring way to level up. By the way, if you want to see how they impact your character, just go look at your status. You'll see that all of your numbers are yellow and those are the numbers that have been buffed by the blessing.

1- You keep forgetting to use the Golden Scarab talisman. 2- There was a special talisman that refils your FP gradually, and it's there in the area you entered at the begining of the video, just look carefully. 3- I also love BLEACH, although I stopped watching it :) 4- You might consider beating the Shadow Dragon (the one you got your lake Katana from) with Sacred Pots, cuz he's a Dark creature, which resualts in an easy win!

The DLC isnt that hard honestly. It just takes a bit of patience. The bosses people are complaining about were super easy for me. Im having the most trouble with Bayle so far.

DLC is not that hard if you enjoy the game. You get rewarded for exploring because you find a lot of scadutrees. People just wanna run through the game. I fought Rellanna as soon as I ran out of areas to explore and my scadutree was level at least 9, wasnt that hard..

Saying this before getting to shadow keep? Get ready to eat your words lmao. I’ve played souls games since demons souls on the PS3 and I can say with a heavy heart that fromsoft have lost their way in certain areas with making difficulty. Giving an enemy 10k health,infinite poise and the ability to one shot you is not “hard” Giving bosses infinite combo chains, infinite stamina and 50k hp is not “hard” Making scadutree fragments mandatory in being able to have a decent time in going through the dlc is not fun. Now every play through is just find all the fragments before playing the game.

eldin ring is NEVER too hard, there are simply way too many resources and ways to get yourself to extreme amounts of damage and poise for people to be complaining about difficulty 😭 if it’s too hard, get your mimic tear in there and re-optimize your build, eldin ring is THE accessible souls-game and has a way out for every level of player, some people just don’t want to admit they need help

I’m playing through this dlc on ng17 it is a brutal experience and most of the bosses take me over 20 attempts to kill. And yet I’m still having the most fun I’ve had in a while even though it’s the hardest thing ever. I fucking love this game and they did a great job on the dlc. Anyone complaining needs to realize the dlc is supposed to be brutal

Not going to lie dude either you are extremely really good at Elden Ring or you were just stomping every enemy in this game cuz I've seen people struggle on like everything and you've basically made some of the hardest bosses to look like they were cakewalks once you figure it out their moveset

Every DLC is also supposed be end game and this one has its own levelling. So too many people are speedrunning to bosses and then wondering why they are getting 1 shot

Less in response to builds and more in response to min-maxing. Most of my recent playthroughs I’ll rarely go over 40 vigor and mostly use offensive talismans. The DLC really wants you to invest more defensively though, more vigor and at least some damage negation.

Because the bosses have tonnes of problems and no amount of fragments can fix these bosses I never ever felt satisfied after beating ANY DLC boss + endgame of the elden ring Because bosses aren't fun they are BS

as a heads up, i think you got more views on the 3 part playthrouygh due to the thumbnail, the anime charachter is kinda a turn-off and the charachter themsel/ also the goofyness of them was definately an attention grabber! (meant to be constructive criticism, no hate!)

i definitely agree, i don’t really get the whole anime character in the thumbnail idea, id rather see some cut outs of the gameplay or the character but maybe he’s just not super big on trying to grow his channel, some people prefer small communities who initially vibe with what they’re putting out naturally

The plan is/has been to get a channel mascot designed and to use that instead of a random anime character in thumbnails as well as branding in general. I said I'd do it at 10k subs, as before that I didn't see a point in spending that much money, but the Elden Ring cheese series kind of exploded me past that point so now I'm trying to play catch up. There will be an official channel mascot in the future, I just gotta figure out how that's gonna happen. Like I said, all this growth happened very unexpectedly 😅

There are people who made builds to one shot the final boss who is the hardest in a soulslike game, no it's not too hard, you guys just suck or have no interest in trying to get stronger in the dlc via scadurtree fragments

People are mad because they have to use their brain to play the game and utilize the hundreds of weapons/arts/spells, etc. to form a strategy to beat different bosses 😂
