Cory's vocals from one of the live videos I've seen, wow. At his age and still have a guttural vocals like he was doing, sounded like iowa imo. Imo it sounded like the album, it was that good. Whole band was on fucking point.

I hope slipknot keeps this line up going as long as possible… but ya even suicide silence, there’s only Garza and Mark left from when I first saw them live but they still kill it to this day.

Sevendust did change members for a while, Sonny Mayo from Snot played with them for a few years before reuniting with the OG line up again

Saying Slipknot better without paul, joey, craige and chris is wild!. I was luckily enough to seem them 13 times as the original set line up. Teenage dreams come true

Craig dont change anything. a little (bit little) influence in the sound. Joey and Paul, agree.

You’re right, the others, flat out wrong. It’s not nu-metal anymore. It’s like a REALLY SOFT Slipknot sung with 90% cleans from Corey. They weren’t Slipknot anymore after the 4th album. 15 years they haven’t been Slipknot.

Eloy is such a hard hitting player, That was the first thing I noticed watching their recent shows. Over everything that was happening on stage you can hear him very clearly. I'd definitely agree with you guys they seem to be in a very different head space and the energy that is Slipknot seems to be flowing back in. Jay is a very talented drummer but he seemed to be lacking in the energy and playing personality. R.I.P Joey for sure we will never have another like him, So glad I got to see them while we still had the OG lineup.

It’s a tough comparison, joey was a fair bit sloppier but had its charm.. will be interesting to see what material they make with eloy.. seems eloy can blast beat a bit better than joey as well so hope they bring that into new material. Or at least bring back a dnb-type wild kind of vibe from their self titled, cos yea.. a lot of the post stone sour stuff was rather naff ngl 😂

Half of Slipknots band member changes happened before the first record even came out, then they had the same 9 people for 11 years, that in itself is a miracle, especially considering the amount of turmoil they’ve been through, then they absolutely had to make a change when Paul died, shit happens in every band, but the casual fans are so ignorant and only know the surface level, they only know the main lineups to a band, I mean to this day they get surprised to find out about Anders Colsefni as Slipknots original vocalist, the real surprise with bands is when they actually do have the same lineup for so long.

when slipknot fired Jay or let him go (however you wanna phrase it) i was completely shocked because Jay was a monster........i didn't realize how insane of a drummer Eloy was until I watched his cover of Herectic Anthem.....he brings a heavier punch to the band vs Jay (more savvy, clean) which really works with this era of Slipknot....Eloy is a BEAST

The only way that a band can replace an iconic drummer, is to replace them with a drummer that’s better than that original player is. The options are so fucking small, but that’s the only choice. Look at Foo Fighters. Freese was pretty much the only guy that could replace Taylor.

Even before watching the video, the answer is a BIG HELL NO. We should all know that the ORIGINAL, is ALWAYS the best and when Paul and Chris and Joey were no longer there, it wasn’t Slipknot anymore. They really should change the name, cuz they sound nothing like the original at all anymore. Unless Eloy helps write the next Iowa, it just another ploy… especially after the last few years of nothing but selfishness from Shawn. Shawn shouldn’t even be in the band, he’s completely useless.

It's the manner in which band members have left. Clearly a bit of a business-like dictatorship at work, making it a bit pointless to compare them to every other band who has lineup changes
