I did a front flip to my face after hitting a tree off a ledge and I landed in powder, I was totally fine and only had snow burn on my cheeks. ( the falls are a lot softer usually)

Hi you’ve really inspired me to start skateboarding it’s definitely not the same as snowboarding I’ve been doing it my whole life practically I have some tips for new snowboarders 1:especially if your new don’t buy a board I recommend renting one the number one place I go to is ski barn 2: in ski barn boots also come with a board 3: for clothing I would recommend buying a top quality brand but if ur just trying it out I saw snow pant/ overalls at target 4: also look at store like kohls I got a top quality snow jacket at kohls clearance I’m still using it today I hope this helped😊

Im going for only my 2nd time soon, i spent the whole first time just rolling down the practice hill. Yeah the balance helps, but the way it moves and slides around is way different. Dont have the friction to push against, the way you turn and move the weight around is different, it is hella fun though, do recommend. It is pricey af compared

Started 4 weeks ago on a indoor slope since we have no mountains in my country. It's amazing I found a new hobby. I booked a trip to france in january and bought my own board and some gear. It's expensive but so worth it.

Nothing like skating. The whole edge balance is diff. Only thing that transfers over is the mindset of falling and getting back up over and over and how to learn what you did wrong on the last attempt and how to adjust things for the next attempt

I was a snowboarder before I skated. Heres some helpful ways to reduce on price for trips -work at a mountain. Even part time/volunteers usually get a free season pass -if u ride a lot, invest in a multi mountain pass. The cost upfront is worth it -like skating: you can hit the streets if it snows. It’s surprisingly easy to make a little makeshift park -plan midweek trips, the cost of tickets jump during peak days and weekends. -rent ur equipment seasonally if u end up liking it. Again, the cost upfront is worth it to avoid rental fees

The first time I tried snowboarding, I picked it was faster than my friends who don't skate. The balance is pretty similar, but the weird part is how little friction the board has with the snow. Knowing how to control speed with the edges takes a bit of time to learn.

Me and my mother used to snowboard very often, but one time we went on a chair lift and never understood how to get off of one, so everytime we'd fall everyone would laugh, so yes, falling is fun because i was laughing so hard I could barely force myself to get up

broke my spine snowboarding after trying to 360 indie grab, I scorpioned so hard I and didnt even know I broke it and went back up the next week, it later healed but I broke it again at a trampoline park trying to double back flip I was only 13 the first time I broke it, the second time was at my 14th birthday back in April 2022

In my experience it's about the same. The learning curve to snowboarding is very low. I've snowboarded twice in my life. Once when i was 11 ( only did bunny hill ). Then at 17 with a friend. The only issue I had a first was going down the mountain like a bullet not knowing how to stop. Once i figured it out, it was a piece of cake, did some airs and some 180s. Skating is definitely harder than snowboarding overall. If you can carve on skateboard, you can ride a snowboard no problem. If you can powerslide on a skateboard, then you're unstoppable.
