Pro - Overly Insane amount of customization from characters appearance, Uniforms to some ships like the super kitbash miranda class - your build can become meta almost without buying anything - some or most story arc is good - Pew pew pew is nice Mid - This game required you to be very patient in almost everything - Exchange can be your best friend or your worst foe - Questionable choice from the devs when item that was once free, came back but as a purchaseable item with the price of $75USD for example. - Old content that was once liked and benefit by the community were removed by the devs cus reasons Con - Game is on Skeleton crew that only focus on ship release , so things like Quality of life, Bug fix and Story may take little while or longer, but when they do, it's great to see. - getting ship from lockbox or C-store are expensive, ranging from $10 - $400+ depend on sheer luck - Dill exchange are broken, likely one of the reasons is due to the devs poor choice of Nerfing Pheonix upgrade token, this hurts F2P players to resort to spent real cash. - Communication between the Devs and the player are questionable, and they only quick to response from mass community protests. Overall it's the great game, and i want this game to do better, not as a money laundry.

Star Trek Online is totally awesome. It is 13 years old, but with the tv shows coming out, this game gets updates regularly...and it blows STARFIELD out of space!

I was a founder on pc for this game, quit playing and picked it up again when released on console. After not being able to get my founder bonuses I quit, came back a few years later for a bit and quit again. Picked it back up last week, the depth added over the years is astounding! I’m sooooooo hooked again like it was just released! In 9 days now I got my 65 fed 3/4 caught up to the point I’m tempted to do elites, took my Jem’ Hadar from 50 to 65, started a Discovery and got them to 20, started a Klingon and am grinding hard(currently 58) Ignore the dated graphics, overwhelmed UI and enjoy the universe and massive end game content! It’s totally worth picking up! No need to dump money, they’re very generous with being able to get into a decent ship, bide your time for a year doing dailies and reputation and you’ll have a great ship and fully kitted build capable of enjoying all the content!

It's still very much worth playing. I have been since Beta and have no feelings of stopping. I do however hate the trend that almost all online games have taken of people not communicating in group combat runs.. but that's just the era we live in now.

I adore this game. It has many flaws. Many. But its amazing star trek experience. Its a nostalgia train relying heavily on existing universe. But it gives you exactly what star trek fans want. To be IN star trek. My game time is reaching 1000 Hours in the game over multiple years. The fact that they are still adding new content is just amazing. I Hope itll continue going strong. ❤

I have been playing star trek online for ps4 and I really like where the storyline takes place and takes you

New content is scarce and when released is usually only a few short episodes. The game seems really focused on releasing reskinned ships instead of producing new content. Still, you can play totally for free and there's tons of old content so for new players it's great to try.

Space and ground combat or you can sit in your ready room on your ship and manage your large crew. AS Star trek as it gets. Came back after not playing since 2013 and am astounded at all the content.

Playing on PS5, once I got over the PS2 era graphics and ropey ground combat I found a content-rich, deep layered game. It's great to dip in and out of.

STO seems like a great game, but I never got into it. I used to game in the 90s / early 2000s with starfleet academy and other games. I’m glad they have these new games these days tho! Anything to grow the universe and keep it going :)

I don't understand why some of these game companies don't just pay some super fans to review the game for them before they release, they could pay super fans to point out any inconsistencies or really anything to make the game better. It seems like a no-brainer to me there's so many people that know so much about so many different universes , not just star trek, and I'm sure a lot of these people would even do it for free to begin

I love the story and getting to play with classic characters acted by their original actors is so cool, but the massive paywall behind the top tier ships is nutty. And the events that offer ya a chance to get these top tier ships and other amazing stuff, are pretty nutty to complete in order to get this stuff. Ya basically gotta be pretty deep into this game and no-lifeing it focused on these events to get anything cool out of them.

Elite Force was pretty good IMHO.

I stopped playing when they introduced the Iconians and the stuff at MK XV. I had 1411 hours when I stopped. I specialized in SCI with the miracle worker spec to be a support in that game (useless most of the time) but I loved buffing allies or, as ENG char to place deployables which would help my team. At a certain point it started becoming impossible to go ahead unless you bought the latest C-Store ship or had premium-unlocked MK XV weapons and stuff or you would do barely anything to the enemies and die fast. I liked this game a lot back then.

My ex dad used to do hard drugs and watch everything star trek other than that I'm not a fan of it but this game is something I've played before a buddy of mine from the UK suggested it no surprise it's more popular there but it's fun

Been trying to play this for a bit over a month now. Nice graphics and option choices. The issue I've found was spending half the time logging back on, as getting booted almost every time entering an instance is a definite 'not a primary' for me. The potential is there, but when you see the same bugs arising and continued issues with getting disconnected sure isn't going to draw in many more than the die-hard fans playing now. An odd aspect is the ability to run from a new character creation to max level leaves one wondering why they can't keep up with all the increased equipment upgrades. Sure, the 'pay to play' options are there, but limited. There's a 'life time membership' option, but with the vague status of how long that might be these days isn't really looking like an optimal choice. A few minor perks, but not sure if that would improve the issues encountered with the F2P option. So, for a casual play type game, it can fill a couple hours, but don't be surprised if half that time is having to re-logon if changing instances.

The only amazing Star Trek game I’ve played was “Echos from the Past” on the Sega Genesis. That was such a great RPG. And completely underrated🖖🏼

If you like the story, this game is for you. If you don't, there's a good chance you won't like it at all. Once you finish the story or stop enjoying the story I don't feel there's much else to do. Still, if you're a trekkie then you better give this a chance. Get through the first few missions, etc. and then things really start to pick up. I recommend creating a romulan character, the story arcs are absolutely nuts for that faction and way more interesting than federation or klingons first few arcs.

Sto is a fun game. There are alot of ups to it but there are alot of cons to it as well. It does have a free to play option plus plenty of free giveaways which are frequent, sure there are aton of bugs that need fixed but overall its still worth playing

The pay to win was overstated in this video im free to play and have elite ships and builds unless you want to be in the top one percent of DPSs or have "HERO" ships for barbie you can one hundred percent play all aspects of this game to max level which is 65. There are some wierd glitches but most players learn work arounds for most of them. Chat on esd and local can be lame find a private channel you like and you can find helpful friendly people

Probably the closest thing you ca men actually get which feels like living in the ST universe. I wish they hadn’t chucked the Foundry but I understand why they did. My only real complaint is that everything is always focused on combat and the ‘next big bad’. And that leaves out one of the most interesting parts of Star Trek. Still a fun game, though. Always come back to it.

The end game is spending thousands of dollars buying all the legendary ships and then doing nothing with those ships but doing damage in events you play over and over or replaying missons

My biggest gripe with it is how poorly they implement things. So many bugs and weird performance glitches. Even some of the ships and maps seem to have been built by someone who’s been given an hour to throw out a map. Would of been great if we could see more care and love thrown at the engine and the game. I’ve gone back to play it and I enjoy it just feels rushed. Doubt we will ever see a full game update using a newer engine.

Sto stinks anymore. I bought a forever item that was 99 dollars which unlocked certain perks extra character slots and a few ships. But i played for maybe 6 months and got bored. Its extremly dull anymore, its persnally a hard skip for me. But im glad some people still adore it. I think its knly worth going back for the christmas event, if they still have it, andnof course to adore the pets. That is all

Too many Reputation systems and years to grind out the gear. When it became Grindquest I quit the game. I am a Lifetime Subscriber. It used to take just a few days to max a Toon They need to roll back a few things. I would rather pay a subscription fee to play STO without the forever grind.

The game seems less than to me without the Foundry. I keep trying to come back but it just isn't the same. Those were the best missions.
