@@SVTEvan that and they hold them under a modern microscope. What I mean by that is they may say "it does 800-1000 to the wheels big deal the new coyote do that too dude" and shrug it off like it's nothing completely ignoring the fact these are 20 year old car doing this and it also has a better trans than a new coyote (manual vs manual). The fact you can make that power as easy as you can make it with these just shows how far ahead of the game they truly were. In 2003 it was a super badass car and bang for the buck was out of this world. They're legendary for a reason. It wasn't common in those days making that kind of power that easily on mostly stock stuff. The coyotes are just now beginning to do what these were doing long before they existed. Everything I say about these carries over to 07 up gt500s too. Particularly the old iron block cars they're built in the same vein as the terminator and can make big power with little amount of work (considering it's an older car). Love these cars.

@@user-bd8oq3cy2q I don't know about that... I've been to many many car meets and even just driving around people of all kinds tell me "nice Terminator" which is awesome to hear cuz I honestly didn't think many ppl knew about these cars.

As far as using the gearing I use 5th alot with my 07 gt500 has similar gearing in trans but steeper 1st gear. But I also have 4.10 gears. 5th the in between gear I call it comes in handy with 4.10s around 40-55 mph I use it to keep it from lugging around it's nice for cruising with steeper gears otherwise I agree with what you said about the 5 speed.

I don’t think they’re overrated for the right price. Super low mileage ones going for insane money seems a tad crazy to me. But hey, more power to the people who have that kinda money to spend. Sonic blue is one of my favorite colors on them 🔥

It's the reason the hellcat exists. Along with the zr1, zl1, ctsv, c7z06, etc. They owe their existence to this car. You could even say 07 up gt500s although that is essentially just the newer version of the cobra lol. All those cars owe homage to the 07 up gt500s too. It's amazing what they can do with such simplistic mods to be as old as they are. Very impressive cars. There is a reason they're still sought after.

Either of them are awesome and can make big power pretty easy. It comes down to if you want a more old school raw straight up muscle car type feel with the old school sound or a more exotic sports car/muscle car/ type of feel that is newer. The cobra is gonna have a notchier trans and feel alot beefier in that regard I think the t56 is better than mt82 ecsp once you swap a 26 spline input...They're both great I have a 750 rwhp gen3r 07 gt500 and I'm gonna sit a boss beside it in couple years because those are badass cars. I'd like a terminator but prices are nuts and I already have something similar to the terminator w my gt500.

I know a handful of guys who did built tr3650 swaps in their 03/04 cobras for 1/8 mile racing. The owner prior to me did the swap. Personally, I’d never have gotten rid of t56 for anything other than an auto. Down the line, the car will be getting a built auto. The 03/04 cobra was/is my dream car too. I love it, but it’s also so dated compared to my 5.0. I drove it one time last year.

All valid points! If you never plan on selling, don’t be afraid to throw some mods at it.

It was underrated in nearly every aspect. Certainly a piece of automotive history.

I don't think it's overrated compared to newer mustangs. Guys have went 8s with a stick shift on stock bottom end that is pretty damn badass. What coyotes go 8s with a stick on stock bottom? They have to have a crutch auto trans to do those types of numbers lol. They're both great but I certainly wouldn't say the terminator is overrated compared to them.

It’s approaching the 20 years old mark, so lots of kids these days don’t even know what this car is, or the vehicles it paved the way for.

​@SVTEvan they were already being discontinued before the terminator came out. That is a misconception as much as I love terminators. The writing was already on the wall and decision already made.

​@morepower-4.6 it was on a track and the svt is actually very capable on a track with the right driver it isn't hard to see how one could have kept up with an na 4v. You're correct though that was the final straw that made team svt go back to the drawing board. People act like the fbodies were blowing away na 4v and they reallyweren't. The 4v could hold its own even before terminator. They went from keeping up w ls1s to walking the hell out of ls1s lol. And the potential oncee modified is another win for thterminator. Ahead of the game.

You need to get one that isn't 100% flawless and low mile get one mid miles 80-120k. If it's been taken care of its fine. Many of them were taken care of. You can tell if it wasn't it's a 20 year old car. You don't have to get a prestine low mileage example especially if you wanna mod it and drive it anyways. I got my 07 gt500 April 2020 with just over 100k clean title tasteful mods for 16500. Had minor paint chips on the front and it's not perfect it is a really nice driver which is what I wanted. You prob can't find anything near that in today's market but getting either for 25k or even less is Def still realistic as long as you ain't looking for a perfect low mile car.
