The interior seems pretty average, for a premium car manufacturer. The infotainment system looks 5 years old. I wouldn't pay 40K for that. 31K - 34K seems more fair.

I love Acura’s, and the reasons why are the steering feedback and exceptional handling. I concur with Joe, personally I would trade a somewhat dated interior design for this kind of performance every time! The value proposition on the 4 cylinder TLX is off the scale. And personally, I would trade the slightly better performance of the V6 for the exceptional fuel economy figures for the VTEC 4 any day of the week! Automotive perfection at this price point is an unrealistic expectation in my opinion. Bravo Acura for delivering on your philosophy of driving precision for this brand. And as always, a big thank you to Joe for bringing us excellent reviews on the types of cars we want to see on this channel!

Very solid review Raiti! I feel after watching this vid, I feel like I have driven it myself! I just purchased 2017 MDX for my wife last week and saw these TLX A-Specs in the show room. I must admit, as an old school Honda fan (used to swap B-series engines, add forced induction, you name it...), I like the revived direction that Acura/Honda seems to be headed in.

I bought this car a couple weeks ago and absolutely love it! Some of the people on here dogging probably never drove one...

Can't wait for the Acura TLX Type-S to come out in a few years because the concept did blow my mind.

No car is gonna be perfect. This car is a tremendous value, super reliable, enough power and good on gas. All the safety features, Apple carplay, Android Auto with wireless charging, all wheel steer and DCT. Stop bringing up the Accord. U wanna take a chance on that 1st gen turbo with oil dilution, be my guest. And I LOVE the dual screen, absolutely love it. Got it on my MDX, got the navi on at all times and the lower screen for radio and what not. This is the perfect daily driver.

I like the Accura line of vehicles. They should extend the lower info screen up to where the upper one is and then it would be one large screen. I think of the TLX as more of a sport sedan and the larger RLX as more of a luxury sport sedan. Nice job Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

That’s a solid car option. I have a 2013 Accord, which is the basis of the TLX, and is great. However, I don’t agree with you on the 2 screen design. I think is very practical because you can manage more information more efficiently.

I’m really trying to decide if I should get rid of my 2018 Honda Accord sport 1.5 and get either this car, or the v6 or the ILX, if I get an Acura I am definitely going to miss the turbo from my Honda Accord. But that cvt is the main reason why I would get rid of it.

I got the the V6 SH-AWD ASpec from the same location about 2months ago when they were Ferman Acura. You really should have test driven that version. The sound of that V6 is heavenly when it's up in the rev range and the SH-AWD is life changing. I agree on the pedals, thought it weird all three didn't have aluminum. Also the MDX Aspec paddles are aluminum and larger, but this is not.

I went the $-10,000 cheaper route and got the ILX A-Spec with red leather seats. It's def missing the same stuff as the TLX but for $10,000 cheaper it's not as big as a deal. And the looks and compliments I get are also well worth it. Also they have the same engine and overall basic design!!!

My 2004 TL Type S has been an amazing vehicle. Even after 16 years, people compliment us on the car and ask if it's for sale, My wife and I are waiting for Acura to come out with a TLX Type S. We plan to get one with all wheel drive.

Rsx type s was my first ever car and taught me manual, was a great first car and got to over 200k miles.

Exterior on red With DCT that has torque-conv slapped in middle SH-AWD K24 motor 13/10 buy.. If only (2.4l doesnt come with AWD and 3.5l doesnt come with DCT. Shame , too bad)

I find it funny how this has the same engine as my 2015 Civic Si. Also I can't wait till Acura redesigns this and gives us a real Acura with the Type S 😉

Joe, I agree about no brushed aluminum pedals, my 18' Hyundai Elantra Sport has em, LOL. Not having any charging ports in the rear is a HUGE error, they need to understand that Mazda has them in their crosshairs, coming with beautiful, high tech products, better start paying attention Acura!

The type R engine in a high trim ILX, and a turbo on the TLX V6 would make me much warmer to acura. They are killing it with their crossovers; I just wish they still cared about their sedans. The previous TL was a beast!

once they update the interior I'll be first in line I still have a 02 type s TL

if you want a reliable luxury car with solid technology for years to come, the TLX is the one. It will last you longer than any BMW or Audi, but definitely you need to get the A-spec model for sure, the basic tlx is dull.

I think the interior is gorgeous

I own a 2018 Acura TLX 2.4 Tech package and wife owns a Honda accord. I love the feel of driving a quick shifting DCT with a naturally aspirated engine especially in Sports + mode and it rev matches. It feels much quicker , linear and more driving fun than many other vehicles in the range with CVTs. The interior is absolutely dated compared to the accord however works great. The seats is super comfortable compared to the one in accord with great back support and bolsters. When you get used to the dual screen setup, it works seamlessly especially when you use Android Auto on the top screen which doesn't get glared out and loses brightness with sun shining on it and dont need to fiddle with a touch screen while driving. Almost everything can be controlled via the steering wheel with well placed switches. Above everything people turns heads more for my TLX since its unique than an accord or camry with a sales figure of 280k - 300k last year alone. Good mileage, decent performance when you need it, lane keep assist is blessing after a crazy day of work and driving through interstate. If you want to be unique in the crowd with the balance of everything you need from a sedan.. Buy this one. Its the most underrated engine and transmission combination available in the market and ELS surround audio is one of the best

The A Spec I4 weighs 3550 lbs. It's super heavy given the engine output

Barely any reviewers talk about the 2.4L. With all the ZF9 transmission issues, I think the 4 cylinder model might be the better bargain and less troublesome. Plus, the 4 cylinder version is more playful - less weight up front helps with that.

23 / 32 mpg for the 4 cylinder? That's pretty low for only 200hp. The camry v6 gives you that with the v6 and 300hp. Love the exterior design though.

This car needs an updated interior with TOUCH SCREEN instead of what new RDX has. Even Lexus are introducing touch screen in their new car. I wonder in future if they would have hybrid version which helps for long commutes..

My 2017 Chevy Cruze LT has connectivity for the rear seat passengers and cost half of this Acura. Quadruple Zonk....
