This is one of the best-looking BMW without the chrome trims I've ever seen. And the kidney grille size are just perfect.

Never was a BMW fan (Audi through and through), but with their list of recent cars: 340M, X4M etc... they have been REALLY stepping their game up!

Hi Joe. I noticed you weren’t to happy about the 3rd row seating. I agree there are better 3rd row seatings for a luxury suv, but for the leg room which is the most important feature for a 3rd row, you are above average in hight at 6 ft., and your knees had at least 3 inches of room to the back portion of the back seat. I am 6’ 3,” and I could probably fit. Looks like anyone under 6 ft will do fine back there. i love my X7 40i...plenty of power for the size. Drove the M50i and couldn't justify the 20k increase for the performance difference in such a large vehicle.

Pulling that top lever & sliding the power seat forward gives you more room. Plus I believe the 50 & M50 gives you tear cooled seats.

Me an the wife just bought one an love the truck. Not a whole lot of trunk space but the truck hauls ass. The all wheel drive makes the truck move like it has more power, an the truck handles really well.

I love the color and the 22" rims! Not digging the interior color but do love panoramic roof and roof in the 3rd row! Very impressive indeed....but getting into the 3rd row not cool dude...not cool at all question though where is the USB's in the 3rd row? If there is no USB's in the 3rd row that is definitely ZONK.

JOE ~ that is ONE honking big SUV. I like the color, stance, pretty sweet - I wish it were 535HP with a 55inch info-tainment screen, etc. lol. I saw some leaked photos of the 2022 Lexus & BMW line ups - the entire front of their new models is nothing but grill (goofy face). vent. seats? cup coolers? oh YEAH ! ! ! 15:24 I like when you break the rear seat plastic cover thingy hahaha. it's fully loaded - only zonks for interior is no vent. mid seats & smallish shift paddles. very livable - it's basically a living room on wheels. seems like a smooth quiet rid with just enough pick up & go to pass people. what a great report - Joe Raiti is crushing it everyone, this is THE channel. - tony

Interestingly Zf transmission in Honda Pilot hasn’t been as reliable or smooth. The revised version in the 2019 seem to have corrected some of the issues. The Honda zf acts like the Audi zf. Somehow bmw always gets the transmission right and shift seemlessly.

Joe, amazing video..well, at that price point I'd go for a SQ7..the dollar/return is more attractive. I just checked at carmax, there are a few X7 v8 available for less than 80k USD and very low mileage, my POV buying a pre-owned one is a better deal given the 1st buyer will take the biggest depreciation hit.

I dont like the exterior but the interior is amazing.

Like the review but u made the third row look ridiculously hard to get into.. and the trunk opening functions + seat fold down functions operate easier than u made them look.

Bought a 2021 Escalade, engine had a defect, dealer bought it back. Now looking into X7’s.

The X7 is THE alpha. It’s a “masters of the universe” vehicle. The X7 M50 V8TT is a monster when it wants to be.

Could you review the new 2021 Mercedes GLA? I’m torn between that and a 2020 BMW X1. I literally only trust your commentary😩😂

I have to agree with you on the 3rd row seating. It was poorly executed. I am in the market for a compact luxury SUV and have been on the fence with getting a 3rd row because I was concerned about entry- I thought that BMW would have the easiest- especially at that price point! I’ll give them a clue- why not let the second row slide forward on rails like in mini-vans? Makes it much easier for adults to get in and to get to the kids of needed. If they improve that, I would reconsider. But for now the X7 is no longer on my shopping list.

Great review as always but still think the Escalade has more bang for the buck

I don’t think the Q7 is even in the same realm as the X7, the Q7 is around the size of the X5 and this is a lot larger than the Q7. Audi needs to readjust the sizing in the Q7, I am deciding either the X7 or X5 and not sure what to pick as I like the styling of the X7 more than the X5.

The X7 is nice but Escalade and Navigator (even though theyre actually bigger than the X7) have pretty much closed the gap in luxury with the Germans Its literally now just a question of which badge do you want and do you need the larger road presence of a Lincoln or Cadillac

I think the Genesis GV80 will take a lot of people away from SUV’s like the X7 and X5. I’m still not sure how I feel about the exterior but the interior of the GV80 looks to be a winner. It seems to be a perfect blend between the tech overload and multiple screens of BMW and Audi and the tech less Lexus offerings which seem to be lagging behind. I mean let’s face it BMW and Audi autos are meant to be leashed. For that matter so are Cadillacs proven by the horrendous depreciation. If you want to keep a vehicle you go with the Japanese Luxury brands. Like was mentioned in the video this whole segment is going to really heat up over the next couple of years with the GV80 and the new MDX which are kind of tweeners. A little bigger than an X5 but not the size of the big dogs like the X7 and Escalade. Guarantee a lot of us are really anticipating when the first GV80’s are available and we can see a through review and also the 2021 MDX.

The 40i exterior, from the front view, looks much more elegant than the 50i.
