Is the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer RS a compact SUV worth the MONEY?

The Chevrolet Blazer is back but is it what fans really want? Under the hood of this 2020 Blazer RS is a 3.6L V6 producing 308HP & mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. It's exterior styling has a lot borrowed from the Camaro. The Blazer's interior follows the same design philosophy borrowing from the Camaro. Is the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer RS a compact SUV worth the money?

I recently bought an AWD 2021 Blazer RS (fully loaded) and am extremely happy. Having come from a 2010 Camaro SS I was concerned about power and handling. I can say I'm not disappointed at all. The Blazer is very capable. I knew it wouldn't be like the power and torque of my Camaro, but it has plenty of both. It gets nothing but compliments on how it looks and it rides well. Great vehicle that is selling extremely well since its reintroduction despite naysayers.

How does this Blazer RS compare to the Telluride/Palisade? Well, you get more room with third row seating with the Telluride/Palisade, but you get more horsepower, almost 20 extra horses 🐎 with the Blazer in a smaller form factor which probably makes the Blazer RS more fun to drive. Which is the better choice all depends on your needs and what your looking for in a SUV.

Raiti, sir you are the man. You're reviews are that of the common man. You don't get too fancy, you speak in a manner in which everybody can understand. You don't stumble or search for words or phrases which many reviewers do (especially the car sales consultants in their videos, which are much shorter) . You flow throughout your review and know your terminology. You cover every important aspect and detail that a vehicle review should cover. I love your occasional drops of snack placement. VERY important in today's hustle & bustle world on the run. You have a new subscriber in me. My only beef...........you mention what should be in the glovebox after one runs out of Twinkies from the door pockets. I would submit you have the coup de grace of Hostess snacks in the glove box, the white fudge Ding Dongs. Very important when you have the wife complaining about the radio station and the volume. As well as the kids asking if we're there yet. Excellent job my man!

Personally using the Blazer name doesn’t bother me and it’s a nice CUV. However I think Chevy May have been better off using a different name just from a PR standpoint. I don’t think anyone would have been upset if they rebranded the Beretta for example as a CUV.

The blue with black trim looks good on this vehicle. I’ve seen a few on the road. They look really nice. I think Chevy will do well with this model. People will resist the price though. The rear of the vehicle looks sharp. The v6 is attractive . So many new cars are 4 cylinders. Finally Chevy coming out with nice looking vehicles.

I hate when people who think their car enthusiasts, want to talk cars about to you. This guy sells cars but, really doesn't know nothing about Chevy or car history! The s10 Blazer didn't replace the K5 Blazer. The s10 and K5 sold side by side for over a decade together. The 2 door Tahoe replaced the K5 Blazer! The new Chevy Blazer is far from a compact SUV. It's bigger than the equinox, trail Blazer and trax! Far from a compact anything. The Blazer name plate should had been but on a body on frame chassis, like the Colorado. The price also is another big sticking point for me. At the end of the day I'm buying a Chevy, not GMC, Buick or Cadillac. So I'm looking for a bargain! Can't see paying north of 45K for a full load Blazer.

Wow! 200k subscribers already? Congrats- you definitely deserve will the content you give us. Blazer, love the size of glove box and the center armrest height. Going to zonk the low center vents, more like crotch coolers. I get what you say about the rear wiper for exterior aesthetics, however moving the wiper up high would hamper the view out of the back. The 3rd brake light plus the repositioning of the wiper motor would cause a drop in the upper rear window line. May not seem like a huge deal, but any speeder scanning for distant cops coming up from the rear (or motorcycles doing 135 mph) will tell you how important that part of the sightline is.

Midsize crossovers start at 196 inches in length really, your Kia Telluride, Ford Explorer, Chevy Traverse, etc. The Blazer is 191 inches, so a comparison would be the Nissan Morano. This would be a great vehicle for small families. Problem is it's way too expensive. Cm ok n. No one is gonna pay 42K + for it. Therefore I predict this will soon stop selling. Sadly. It's a great vehicle. But the price is 10K too much.

A true Blazer, was the K5! 🙃 Agree with the Zonk at the fender well. Perhaps black plastic would've been better? Massive rear quarter window blind spot. A little pricey if this is the FWD, model. What you checkin' out, while describing the center armrest No memory seating a definite Zonk! That's behind the times!! Rack system is a nice plus! High center console could make for ease of use. Still feel there's a blind spot over your right shoulder, out the rear quarter window... Doesn't sound quiet inside. Maybe a different trim level would suit me, or go for an Equinox.

@@isaacfox732 Edmund's longterm Passport findings would say otherwise. Consumer Reports wasn't the kindest either. "We've(Edmund's) come to a crossroads with the Passport over its infotainment. A system that at first seemed quirky but acceptable has caused major issues of late, and we've learned we're not the only ones with this experience. On separate occasions, with different drivers behind the wheel, the Passport's screen has suddenly stopped functioning in the middle of driving. The audio shuts off, and the touchscreen refuses to respond to commands. This means you lose whatever navigation, multimedia and other information you may have been using, and can't regain control. Both times it happened, our editors parked the Passport and turned it off for a short break. On one of those occasions, the screen flashed on and would not turn off even as the vehicle stopped running and the doors were locked. We contacted Honda, who brought the car in and issued a service to fix the "running infotainment" problem. The automaker says the fix will be available to owners as an over-the-air update soon (click here to access Honda's owner update site, under 'Software System Updates,' or here for instructions about over-the-air updates). But it does not solve the initial problem, which is a total shutdown of the infotainment system while the Passport is moving. This is a frustrating situation for buyers. It does not reflect well on the quality of the Passport's software, and causes a potential distraction hazard at speed. At time of writing, the problem has not occurred in more than two months, and there have been no issues in the short time since Honda completed its service. But we've learned other owners have had similar experiences in Passport, Pilot and Odyssey models. The company is "working to provide market repairs which include software and hardware fixes," we were told. Unfortunately, that's a hard answer to swallow. We will report back if any further issues arise." - Ryan ZumMallen, reviews editor

Great review and great car. I got the redline with the V6 for 33,500. Has everything I wanted in a midsize SUV. I do agree the RS models are pricey but you should get 5,000 off msrp at minimum. I also agree they should have a SS V8 version and maybe a K5 to appease the old timers so everyone will be happy. We'll see. It feels like if they did that now it would hurt Camaro & Z71 sales so maybe they're waiting a bit. I don't know I'm no expert. For being such a stylish and sporty car those rims are frickin' terrible. Congrats on 200k!

20-26 mpg is fine for a NA V6. I remember the saturn aura i used to drive had a 3.6 V6, probably got 18mpg real world driving, and that was a midsized sedan. These stupid turbo engines are a false economy anyway. Is anybody REALLY going to tell me that taking on all of the longevity problems that turbo motors have is worth it for 2 extra mpg? not even taking into account that if you are towing, you'll get better mpg with no turbo anyway.

So they repurposed the Blazer name, and many have criticisms of that move. Aside from that, the vehicle should only be reviewed in regards to what it really is: a mid-size crossover. This is far from the first time a name has been re-purposed.
