Most all Lexus easily last to 200,000+ miles while the Dodge Hornet's life expectancy is in the medium to poor range according to those that rate such things, The Hornet RT may be more fun to drive in its shorter life (better handling, etc). Dodge Hornet sales in 2023 was dismal (just barely over 9,000 sold in 2023) while about 25,000 Lexus NX 450's were sold. As others said the Hornet R/T is way over priced for what it is.

Quality might be a concern, yes?

7:45 Actually since i own a 2021 charger RT, i was fairly certain i pushed around 400lb torque. Searched it up and it came out to 395lb torque.

I drove a Hornet R/T track pack as a demo for 5 months/9500km. This thing is a very serious performance machine when you want to surprise bimmer drivers and costs basically nothing to run when you don't push it. I changed the 20s for 18s for better track performance and my oh my what a difference! I sold it a few weeks ago and I actually miss driving it. It takes a few km to learn how to effectively exploit the performance. Use Supreme fuel, max regeneration works best in sport mode. I know it's a dodge but throw into a corner and... you get a serious handling machine. 2 complaints: Price, this thing does not sell in Canada at a MSRP just over 71k for the machine I was driving. Of it was a rwd biased awd like the Alfa Romeo Strelvio I would have taken an other one. Bottom line, it's perfect for a single dude that likes to save on gas and also loves to scare himself in corners. Price it a 45k CAD and I'll sell a dozen a month, for now it's just taking space in my inventory.

I actually never saw one in person till the other day, and I have no clue how. They are really cool though.

I got $8K in instant EV rebates, so that really helped. I understand muscle fans hate the direction Dodge is going, but we really like compact SUVs for our lifestyle, and I wanted the fastest one out there. It's fun to drive.

It's nice. I don't know who will be lining up for this, but I'm sure they'll sell some of them. It had very sleek styling and the HP is there on paper. I'm glad they at least kept some combustion capability. At this point that's the best we can hope for from most companies. That same car with a 3.8 V6 and a little turbo or hybrid for boost with an 6 spd transmission would be more in-line with my taste. That would be a real 🇺🇸HORNET RT 🇺🇸.

I know people hate on this vehicle...really for no reason other than it's not a HEMI Charger or Challenger. I love my Hornet R/T Plus with the Track Pack/Blacktop package. It's an extremely fun car to drive and you can laugh at me all you want and make stupid comments but you just need to try an R/T. Coming from a Challenger GT Plus it's a huge improvement overall for an everyday vehicle. It rides far better, the seats are so much more comfortable, its easier to see, way more power, the interior is so, much better interior, way better fuel milage and a lot cheaper to insure. It really goes when you step on it too. Yeah it's expensive but I just leased it and you get a $6250 EV credit too. No major issues with mine either. I've had it since January I think I've only put gas in it 4 times. I mostly use the EV function. And no Dodge isn't paying me to say this and all the BS you may wanna come up with. It's not gonna be for everyone and it's not meant for those who want a Charger or Challenger. It really is a great vehicle though.

To all the people saying its "expensive/overpriced" its an Alfa Romeo just with some Dodge badging. Just go look up some interior pics of it and the body of it compared to this. They arent cheap dodge parts so they have to up the price.

For an suv, it looks good. There are many elements of this vehicle that are great, but some things are missing. There were some head scratchers with this one. Price is high, but everything is high these days.

1.3 L I-4 doesn’t scream muscle car to me. $48k? No freakin’ way. They’ll be off loading them for less than 40 at the end of the year

Stellantis has some nice European models like Peugeot, Citroen, and Opel. Why didn't they Neon-ize the Citroen C3-Aircross or the Peugeot 2008. I drove both of these cars when in France last year and they are impressive.

Wow. I have A Lexus NX 450H and this isn’t even close. And it’s a Dodge so you know the quality is sub par. I would still have my 2016 NX didn’t get T boned. Had zero issues with it in 7 years. Just scheduled maintenance. Dodge…that would never happen.

I like them but I wish Dodge had an SUV that slots between this and the Durango. This is too small for families but not all families need a three-row.

I know exactly why the Sunroof hasn't been released it being reengineered the Renegade which the Hornet had major issues with the Sunroof and the the plastic guides were notorious for breaking causing the sunroof to become inoperable. But I have a feeling that the Hornet is just a stop gap measure until the new STLA Medium arrives, I do like the Hornet but it is a parts bin car to keep development costs down so why are they gouging the consumers, this shouldn't be no higher than $35k

You needed to test the R/T Plus to get the extra's which has more standard stuff like a sunroof, harmon kardon sound system, navigation, power lift gate, wireless charging, etc. You can actually get an R/T Plus for $48,000. You do actually get ventilated seats standard in the R/T I believe but if you get the track pack with the alcantara seats it removes the ventilated seats. I wouldn't care so much about venalited seats. Most of them are worthless anyways and barely blow air. He didn't even test Powershot and then complains about the lack of punch when he stepped on it. It's on the features of the R/T. This wasn't a good review tbh. I like his videos and I watch a lot of them but this one just wasn't a good review at all. It's like he wasn't very knowledgable about the vehicle before shooting the video.

This car should sell for around $29-32,000. Then they would sell a lot

Sunroof and not having a more aggressive back end with extended top spoiler in my opinion killed sales of the hornet .. price needed to be 4-5k less .. price is definitely in par with lexus nx lol
