In this video I cover a few of the main differences between the Nissan 350z and BMW 335i since they're roughly in the same price range. I have an 08 350z HR, and a 2012 335i. I feel the 350z is a sports car, and the 335i is a luxury performance car.

G37 / G35 are more of a competitor towards the 330/335i for obvious reasons. Z's are pure sports cars.

350z all day. Simplicity and reliability over glass turbo inline 6. Most people voting for BMW clearly never owned one. In the EU more people would look more at a 350z than a E90/92.

I know a G37 isn’t a 350Z, but it basically has a bigger & beefed-up version of the HR motor and still looks nice. It was a pearl white ext./black int. with the 6MT, did a FBO+FlexFuel+EcuTek tune on it too. I then sold it to end up in what I have now, a 6MT RWD E92 that’s FBO+Custom E50/22psi MHD tune. When it was still stock, even then the first thing I noticed is how it felt like it was on rails for how solid it was, and not to mention the factory wtq alone being right around what the G put down on E85. The difference between the two is just unreal. After several weeks of being tuned with the G, the power was still there obviously, but I just couldn’t really feel it anymore as the driver. In the E92, I’ve been tuned for a while now and it’s still heart-racing even if I do a slight pull. I understand it’s not apples-to-apples since the E92 is twin-turbo, but for cars that are pretty much valued the same, I’d much rather start with this platform than spend up to $8k doing a quality turbo setup I had planned for the G. And no, not one reliability issue to-date. The key is buying one that’s been well-maintained. We’re not talking oil changes every week and valve cover gasket replacements every month in its history, but just maintained as you would your own car, and not neglected whenever something was occurring or due. I have a 2008 335xi e92 and I have spent like 8k on maintenance and bolt on doing the job myself. Now that I have mhd stage 1+ I'm happy with it, soon switching to stage 2.

If you want better reliability, get a 2011-2013 E92 335i. It has an N55. It is also very easy to make power on and is much more reliable than the N54

You are comparing an HR 350z to an n54 335i? The N54 is a much better car if the maintenance is kept up.

350z and 335 is complete off the chart. The 335 is one of known as "modern 2jz" you can slam big single turbo and push 700 to wheels. I'm pushing close to 800 on stock internals. 350z are no way close to performance against 335i. 350z is good for beginner drift, track car maybe makes 400whp with properly mods and tuned.

What lmfao. The 350z isnt even comparable. If you want to go fast and hit a track find a manual 335. Boosted from factory, coupe 335s handle better than Zs do, and you can make 500 whp with light mods. What a joke

@@MichaelDouglas-24 the 335i is way more advanced for sure, I compared them for the sheer fact that they're /similar/ years and either car can be picked up for around the same cost. Forced induction cars will always be more tunable but not everyone wants to go fast!

Yeah they sure do sound like shit if you straight pipe it or put a cheap exhaust on it. But they sound one of the best cars if you put a good exhaust on it. And its nowhere near a shitbox. It just isn't.
